What to do with our luggage between timeshare weeks?

We check out of first week (VV@P) by 10 a.m., and can't check into the second week (CPR) until 4 or 5 p.m. I feel very fortunate about the two-week vacation. :thumbsup2

So, do we just hang onto (and hang out with) all our luggage all day? I'd be scared to leave it unattended in our rental car (minivan--no trunk).

I'd love to hear all your advice. TIA

When we change timeshare resorts, we check out of the first one but we do not leave the resort untill around 3 pm, providing it is a nice day. That way our belongings while in the vehicle are still under the watchful eyes of security. If it is raining we go to the mall, or the outlets and just hang out. We have never had any luggage or anything stolen yet and we have been doing this for 15 + years.

It never hurts to check and see if your second timeshare is available early. We checked in at Orange Lake at 10:30 a.m last week after our 10 a.m Silver Creek check out. Our villa at OC was ready. If not, some resorts have a luggage storage area, check in whether yours does.

the new resort will let you store the luggage there if you ask them.
Otherwise you could store it at the one you are leaving..

I can confirm that Vistana will store your luggage until your room is ready. They also have limited cold storage for food items (you just have to make sure it's labled). Check with the timeshare resort to see if they offer these services.

We always leave our luggage in our mini van and never had a problem. We have also left our portable TV in without a problem. HTH

I wouldn't worry at all about it in most places in Orlando. A Disney parking lot would feel very safe. I would at least try to hide valuables like a laptop or video camera, but other than that, things should be fine.

We were able to check into Summer Bay early last Fall. Our main concern was our groceries, since we had a dinner reservation about check-in time. Since the condo was already clean, they were perfectly willing to let us get in early.

I'm just not comfortable leaving things in the car unattended. I think I'll just stop by Cypress Point Resort after checking out of Vacation Village at Parkway to see if we can check in early and if not, ask if they have a secure place to drop off luggage until check-in. Thanks again.

What do you plan on doing between resorts?

If you plan on staying at the exiting resort, keep it in car-if not go to new resort and try to check-in early. If rooms are not ready, ask if they can keep your luggage w/ bell svcs. Most places let you do that and allow you to enjoy the facilities on sight while you are waiting for a room.
