I have 2 stacks of gift cards that Im putting into just 2 cards

one is mine that I get for gifts the other is for general spending that I get from rewards

so I know you need to keep the cards once you use them in case of returns but do I still need them since there on just 2 separate cards

and I now have a baggie full of cards that no longer have a balance--what can I do with those

I really hate just to throw them out if they can be recycled

thanks all

I keep a spare, empty but still registered on the website in a different location than the others. That way if the card I’m currently using goes missing I can quick transfer the balance to the spare card. The rest I toss in the recycle bin.

If you have any friends who play guitar they can make guitar picks out of them. Our son has a guitar pick punch that uses old gift cards.

If you have a particularly cute gift card you could make a luggage tag from it. Punch a hole in one end and use a zip tie or cord; on the back put a large sticker that you've printed with name, etc.. (or glue two cute ones back to back and leave space to write your info with a Sharpie).

This is weird but I sold empty Disney GCs on ebay. For some reason, people buy them.

That's a really smart idea!

I give them to my restaurant server friends, and they use them at work, for their “work” card for entering orders and such. The Disney ones hold up the best, oddly enough.
