We just bought her a 7day 2park ticket from AAA two weeks ago to go with the ones we already bought for my family. After she got totally excited about going she has changed her mind. She is worried about everything (storms, heat, walking, the attractions, etc.) and has decided that this is absolutely not something she wants to do, no matter how much I try to assure her that it will be fine. Plus she was going to come alone without my DStepDad and he is not in the best health and she is afraid something will happen to him while we are gone. It's full steam ahead for me, Dh and Ds but now I have her ticket. I don't think I can return it for a refund to AAA (anyone tried?). Any suggestions on how I can recoup at least some of the cost. I know that we could save it but we probably won't be back for a long time (other vacations being planned for awhile). Thanks for any help.

Ebay? Donate it for a charity raffle as a write off.

Give it to a poor deserving Dis'er like um say uh .......Me!

Never bought from AAA so can't help you there but I would try for the refund first. All they can do is laugh hysterically and say no

Hey Mods can we sell tickets on here for face or partial value?

If you purchased the seven day special tickets, they do not expire unless you activate them at the gate. If she's not going, just hang onto her ticket for a future date. If not, I'm not sure what to tell you. Phamton would know what to do...send her a PM.

That's exactly what I was going to tell you to do ......hang onto it! You will want to go again!

Right after I posted that, I had a thought. I'm not sure AAA has access to those tickets since I don't use AAA for tickets. Maybe Bev can come to our rescue.

They are the non-expiring tickets (well they do expire 6 days after the first day of use).

Keep the extra ticket for future use...DO NOT activate it at the gate! Save it for Harry Potter! :thumbsup2

Just a thought, can you exchange multi-day tickets towards the purchase of a PAP like you can at WDW? If I could trade in my ticket and my mom's for the value I paid it would only be about $20+ tax more. I was thinking that it might be worth it if I could get a PAP room discount. The website said you could save about 30% on room rates. Anyone confirm if this is true and whether or not this might be a good idea for us?

Also, does anyone have a list of the discount percentage you might get on the room rates per season. I know that as a AAA member they offer different % depending on seasons, so I assume the same thing applies to the PAP holders.

Call Loews first and ask if there are any pass discounts still available for your dates before you do anything. Then call customer service at the park and ask if you can put two tickets towards 1 annual pass.

You can only use one ticket per upgrade. You can't use both tickets to upgrade to one annual pass.

know that our AAA refused to adjust the original tix we purchased (wanted to return them until i was informed we could just upgrade them @ the gates to an AP).

there is always ebay:confused3 (just don't use the word ticket in your listing or it will be yanked...they have the specifics on their site). believe you're allowed to sell 2 such travel items a month if you're not a registered TA

Thanks for the replies. DM decided to pay us for the ticket and she is going to donate it to a nearby children's hospital who is associated with an organization similar to Make-A-Wish foundation.

That's a great thing! I'm sure some child will love receiving the ticket. :thumbsup2

I agree cause my niece is in remission from lukemia and make a wish gave her and her family a trip of a lifetime to WDW and Universal and its great to hear your mom is doing that

Call AAA. You may be able to return the ticket if you don't want to keep it and get your money back.

I was able to return 1 Adult GA Aquarium ticket once I found out DH couldn't go with us. It was no problem at all to get the refund.

I was curious to see what could be done with the ticket. I think your DM made a great choice.:thumbsup2
