I have 4 BIG boxes of Cheerios. Does anyone have any recipes? The kids are getting sick of eating them for breakfast.

Thanks!

You can make Rice Krispie treats from them-- just use the Cheerios instead of the RK.

You can also use them in a Chex mix type recipe.

You can also crush them and use them as breading or coating, in place of bread crumbs.

Cheerios sells an awesome snack mix. You could re-create it.

Squirrel food? j/k

My husband loves these.

Peanutty Caramel Bars

1 package (14 ounces) caramels
1/4 cup water
3/4 cup peanut butter, divided
4 cups Cheerios
1 cup salted peanuts
1 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup butter, soft
In a large microwave-safe bowl, microwave caramels, water and 1/2 cup peanut butter on high for 45 seconds; stir. Microwave 1 to 1-1/2 minutes longer or until melted. Add cereal and peanuts; toss to coat. Spread into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. pan; set aside.
In another microwave-safe bowl, melt chips, butter and remaining peanut butter on high for 20-50 seconds; stir until smooth. Spread over cereal mixture. Refrigerate before cutting.

I used cheerios & fruit loops as potty training tools for my sons. I tossed a few in the bowl, and they shot at them. It was a perfect way to teach toddler boys how to go standing up! The only down side is that my DS11 & DS7 cringe whenever they see a bowl of cheerios or fruit loops!

That sounds like it'd taste horrible! :sad2:

:rolleyes1

Cheerio treats. Like Rice Krispy treats only with Cheerios and peanut butter! Delicious!!!

Yea - I'd coat them in chocolate if they were in my house...

Put on wax paper to dry - put in pretty bags - with pretty ribbon - Homemade Christmas gifts :thumbsup2

Donate them to a local food pantry.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Donating to a food pantry is what I do whenever I have an overabundance of something edible. Or sometimes when something is a really good buy with a good coupon I will purchase it specifically to donate.

Swith then to unflavored oatmeal with no sugar for a few days.

i'll bet they will enjoy them after that!

Being a Glee fan, Cheerio now has a new meaning to me!

I make a snack mix with them, adding Goldfish, raisins, chocolate chips and peanuts.

you can also crush them up and put them on top of lime jello for christmas dinner.

(you have to watch Christmas Vacation to get that!)
