What to do with beach bag on CC?

^Same here. We keep our ID with us but just leave the bag. For the excursions, like the jet ski one, they have a bin that you can put them in. Of course it is "at your own ridk@ but to date we've not had a problem.

Okay.
That's what I thought. My husband was worried and wanted others opinions! :thanks:

To help differentiate our bag, we braided two pirate night bandanas to the handles, doing something like this helps you know its yours

nothing of value goes with us to the beach at CC. we keep our KTTW and DL's in a waterproof box lanyard with us. Keep the waterproof camera with us. That leaves Towels, tee shirts, sunscreen, glasses case and limited other miscellaneous stuff in bags with our chair.

Except for kids whose brains are not fully developed ... I feel that if you can afford a DCL cruise, you don't need to take my stuff!

Im kinda silly but I always take a very small bike lock and lock it to the chair. It doesn't prevent anyone from taking what's inside but it does prevent someone from just walking by and swiping it. Crimes happen during times of opportunity so I figure the ones little step may help a little. That being said I never use a bag or belongings to save chairs or anything. Only when we'll be in the water or walking around for a little while and our stuff will be out of sight.

Same here...we leave stuff on the chairs and usually cover them with a towel. I am sure crime can happen and has happened but overall it is as safe as can be under the circumstances. I always try to keep a casual eye on our chair location from the water. When we eat lunch I bring my lanyard and camera with me.

Last month we were lounging/half-asleep in hammocks with our stuff on a chair behind us, and DH nudged me and said, without even lifting his head, "I think that kid has my shoes." A little guy was trailing along behind his parents, so they didn't notice, but he had picked up DH's shoes and was walking off with them. By the time I wrangled myself out of the hammock and caught up with them, they were pretty far from us, so if DH hadn't noticed, he might have been heading back to the ship barefoot.

(anyone else notice in this story that DH never got out of his hammock?)

We always have a couple of cameras, my husband's wallet (if we're doing an private beach excursion), and other ID/valuables with us so we've had a kyss bag for years. The bag itself locks and you can lock the whole thing to a beach chair. I even use it at the pool on the ship. I love it! Our original one was so worn out that I just got a new one for our cruise tomorrow. This is the link for anyone interested...http://www.kyssbags.com/.

Awesome idea, thanks for sharing. We'll definitely be getting one of these. What size do you have and do you wish you had a different size ever?

We have the medium and it's just the right size - plenty big for everything you'd bring.

Do you need to take your passport to CC in order to re-board the ship? I'm gathering from this conversation that you do not, but I want to make sure. Thanks!

You do not need a passport to re-board at Castaway Cay. Everyone (including children) does need his or her Key to the World card, and passengers over 18 are advised to carry a photo ID.

As a first time cruiser, does DCL make thinks like this very obvious to people? If I hadn't read it here, I may not have known to bring KTTW cards for everyone at CC.

I was about to say that he didn't seem THAT concerned about his shoes. :sad2:
