Hi All,
It's been a while since I've had a chance to visit the boards, and it's great to be back. We're off to WDW in April so I'll be checking more regularly in the next few months.
I do have one sort of ethical dilemma for you to ponder. I rented a 2br and a studio for next April vacation at BWV (standard view). Now it turns out that my sister might not be able to join us, and the studio would then be available. THe problem is that I won't know until January at the earliest, and possibly not until the end of February. I see 3 options, if I find out in January:
Bank the points (I'm not sure I can do this, since some of the original points were borrowed, although MS could possibly manage to make the borrowed points fit the ressies that I'm keeping). I'm not counting on being able to exercise this option, but it will be my first choice if possible.
Try to rent the studio for that April week, and if no takers within 30 days, go with the next option.
Cancel the ressie and try to rent the points for another time. This poses some risk since my use year is September and the points would have to be used by then. I'm not positive we could get a taker for fairly short notice.
I'm almost positive that there are people on the waitlist with MS for a standard view BWV room during April vacation week, and if I kept the studio to rent to someone, that's sort of short-changing those on the waitlist. This makes me feel a bit like those people who reserve the best dates exclusively to rent them to others. On the other hand, I don't want to lose my points, and I sort of feel that the std view studio during April vacation would be my best bet for easy renting.
So what do you think I should do? Hopefully my sister will be able to come and I won't have to worry about this, but it's not looking great at this time...
TIA!
