What to do with ALOT of canned mandarin oranges?

I received this recipe when I was in WW. I can't use any sugar-free items becaue of allergies to the artificial sweetners. It was wonderful with regular jello/pudding, but not sure what the points would be if you use them.. Here's the original recipe, but feel free to substitute like I did!!

Dreamsicle Pudding

1 package sugar-free (or not sugar-free) instant orange flavored Jell-O
1 package sugar-free (or not sugar-freee) instant vanilla pudding
1 can mandarin oranges, drained
1 small container fat-free Cool Whip

Dissolve Jell-O in 1 cup of very hot water. Add another cup of ice cold water or crushed ice. Let sit for 5 minutes.

With a mixer, blend in the pudding mix. Stir in the oranges. Fold in the Cool Whip. Refrigerate 2 hours.

1 (1-cup) serving = 1 WW point

I put them on salads. Green leafy lettuce, sliced green onions, mandarin oranges, sliced toasted almonds. Best with vinagrette dressing. so good.

If anyone remembers the Magic Pan creperie restaurants, that is where I got this from.

use them in a beef or chicken stir fry. also you can freeze them if you put them in a ziplock bag. Do not use them after a day of being open in the can

My friend made something very similar to this but without the pudding. Also, she blended everything together, so that the oranges were no longer whole. It was wonderful. I've made it a few times and am always asked for the recipe.

You might be able to make an Orange Julius type drink with them. I found some good recipes online.

You can always send them to me!!! j/k My girls LOVE mandarin oranges, the favorite thing to do at my house is to mix them with vanilla yogurt.

Wow, you guys have given me some wonderful ideas! :)

I just looked in the basement, and discovered that I actually have 3 cans of them...I only remembered buying 1. Oh, and I found a jumbo can of crushed pineapple too, so I'll definitely make some Ambrosia. So with 3 cans of oranges, I'm sure I'll be able to put most of these ideas to use.

Wait until Christmas to open them. Then put them in pretty jars and give them as presents. Your friends and family will think you are really strange but they will be too confused and polite to say anything. Make sure to mention several times that they are imported and it took a lot of time to get them ready.

My WW mtg calls that recipe fluff. It is good and works for a party!!

Lol, you are joking, right? :rotfl2:
