Interesting. None of the Catholics I know (and that I've asked) have ever heard of this. Do you put up All Hallowtide decor, like signs and such? If so, I'd love to see a picture!

It's what the Church officially calls these three days. Most Catholics in America would probably refer to each day separately by their singular names. Most Catholic signs for the feast days are like this:

There are social media movements that are trying to reclaim the holiday as it is originally Catholic. Our country essentially turned it secular.

Which is actually a Catholic term. Allhallowtide is just the simple way of wishing someone a happy All Hallows Eve, All Saints Day, and All Souls Days with one greeting. Like I said, it's starting to make a comeback but not everywhere yet. Most modern Catholics won't probably say it unless their parish reminds them. It's a European term but it correctly combines all three feasts.

I always liked the combination of Halloween, All Saints Day, and All Souls Day in Catholic school because we had shortened classes for three days in a row, unless a weekend interfered.

The last hour or so on Halloween was sort of a festive party time before getting dismissed to go trick or treating.

On November 1 and 2, we went to Mass with our class and skipped a subject or two in school.
