We have booked a trip to WDW from Dec 26 to Jan 2. We've been during early Dec. before but never at this time. We are looking for suggestions about what to do for NYE. My DD is only 15, so PI is out, not sure what the best alternative is. Anybody have any experience they want to share?

DJR...
My family will be there at the same time as well! I would love to know some suggestions for NYE...It will be my parents..myself(19) and my two younger sisters...so PI is out for us also.

I went 1999/2000--what a blast. We went to Epcot because it served alcohol, although I got sticker shock and only purchased the obligatory glass of champagne at midnight. People were highly inebriated, and I was sober. This may be an issue for you but I thought it was some of the best entertainment just watching folks. THe Norway boat ride was absolutely something I will remember for the rest of my life. The line was packed and all the people in line sang songs while we waited. It was more fun than the ride. Epcot was very crowded because it did serve and I think the park closed within 10 minutes of opening. I am not sure I would take young kids, but mature teenages might be okay.

Some of the best advice I can give you is go back to the hotel right after midnight and get some sleep. Get up the next morning and hit the parks early. People were so drunk the night before, we literally walked on rides until 1:00 pm.

Have fun.

We will also be there and in the same situation, it will be myself, DH, DD20, DD12. We have never been to WDW in December so this will new for us. DD20 was there over NY's once with her HS band. Our plan is to be at Epcot for the festivities there in the evening, we are staying at BCV so it will make it alot easier.

We have been there for the past 3 years. First year we split and started day at MGM and toured well with FP and then left around 4pm and went to Epcot (we had PS for 8:30pm at Japan-make sure you make these exactly 90 days out for the park you will be in and they will take a CC# because it is a holiday). It was very crowded at WS but they handed out noisemakers and hats and there were many outdoor venue set up. It began to pour around 7:30 and by the time we left Japan around 10pm we were walking in ankle high water so we headed back to resort and watched the ball drop in NY and saw some fireworks from OKW. The next year we stayed the whole time at MGM and ate at Brown Derby. They had several bands and radio disney doing stuff for the kids. We went to 3rd show of Fantasmic then took boat back to Swan and saw Fantasy in the Sky fireworks from there and some of the illuminations fireworks. MK closed to all guests including resort guest by 10am both of those years so if that's were you want to go-go early, have PS, don't try to park-hop or you may not be able to re-enter, and plan on wall-wall people. We are going agin this year and will probably do Epcot or MGM again-very manageable and fun.

Dave, Tinkerbell10403 and AllforPooh,
I know exactly what you should all do for New Year's Eve.....fly me down and pick me up at the airport. My birthday is January 1, and we can all celebrate together!! :)

Disney Studios for the evening party. We did it Dec 2003 and it was a BLAST! We're going again this Dec.
