Sorry if this has been asked-I couldn't find it when I searched:

I'm thinking of purchasing airline tickets on a airline that dosen't participate in DME (Midwest Airlines). My flight would arrive at MCO around 11am and on my check-out day depart MCO at 7pm. So my question is, what do I do with my bags until check in on arrival day? What do I do with them after I check out on departure day? Any other suggestions?

You check in when you arrive and the resort will store your bags until the room is ready.

When you check out they will also store your bags until you are ready to go to the airport.

We've flown SW (also a non-participating airline) into MCO before and had no troubles at all when heading back to the airport at the end of our trip. The one thing I will advise you about.....if your flight leaves at 7:00, DME will want to pick you up by 4:00. Plan to be back at your resort by 3:15ish in order to retrieve your luggage from the Bell Services people. Also, when DME says the bus picks up at 4:00, that's what they mean. They will pull out at 4:00. So, be at the bus stop by 3:45.
Since you are flying a non-participating airline and will have to take those bags back to MCO with you, underneath the DME bus, you should plan on giving the driver a tip. Any time a driver handles your bags, a tip is considered appropriate.

One other thing...you do realize that you can use the yellow luggage tags on your checked bags for arrival into MCO, right? This way, your bags will go directly to your resort. You just get off the plane, and head to the DME checkin counter. Then get on the bus and head to your resort. Your bags will get to the resort several hours later. Once your room is ready, they will put the bags in the room....no need for you to be there. So you can go off and start enjoying your stay.

First of all, "participating airline" only has to do with the way home.

When you arrive at MCO, EVERYONE on EVERY AIRLINE is eligible to use DME, including the automatic luggage delivery. AIRLINE DOESN'T MATTER! Your bags will be delivered to your resort room.

When you get to your resort, if your room isn't ready yet you can have Bell Services store your carry-ons for you. Then you can just go out and enjoy!

On your way home, yes, airline matters as far as luggage handling.

Get your luggage to the lobby area, or get Bell Services to pick up your luggage (if you do this, call WELL in advance, and even consider calling the night before to set up an appointment to have them pick up your bags). Have Bell Services store your bags for you, suitcases and carry-ons. Go out and play. Come back in plenty of time for your DME bus reservation, including leaving enough time to get your stored bags back from Bell Services.

Easy as pie.:goodvibes
