What should I do in the winter besides going to the park and having a great time. Should i go and watch the florida new years ball drop, is it worth it?
I don't know what I should do, or if I should even make the trip to florida this winter.

I don't know anything about the NYE ball drop in Orlando, but I can tell you, the one here in Lee County Fl is nothing like the one in Times Square! I am a NY transplant, living here in SW FL for the last 14 years & there is nothing that I have seen that can even come close to the ball drop in NY. What can you do here in the winter...well for one, you can go swiming. That is something you cannot do at home. You can go to the parks, there are many outlet malls to try. You can head over to one of the coasts & spend a day on the beach. Why would you not want to come here (FL) in the winter. That is the best time to come, better weather than NY at that time of year! ;) Unless you like the cold, snow, sleet, icey roads, I would say come on down :goodvibes

I'd say a ski trip but I'd imagine the people up north don't care that much about snow. Isn't it weird, I'm in Florida and want to go up north, but only for a week of skiing.
I guess when you live near something, it becomes normal. For example, I'm only 3.5 hours from Orlando, and I've gone many times, so it's no big deal.

If you can't make it down right now, then I'd say to start planning for a trip near the end of February. Or save up for a summer trip onsite as a splurge.
