What does everybody do at night?
Have been going to Orlando for 6 years now . Youngest dd is now 8 and we would like to do a few more things in the evenings.
Have done all the dinner shows.
:sunny:

We like to see the evening fireworks be it Illuminations, Fantasmic or Wishes if the weather is right! Or we go to the cinema, have a wander around DTD or even go to the Premium Outlets :) How about going to one of the MK resorts for a meal at one of their restaurants such as Whispering Canyon Cafe, great for kids, and then watch the Elctrical Light Pagent which is on certain nights.

Claire ;)

We tend to have a nice meal and watch the fireworks somewhere.

What about spending a night at the Boardwalk?

There is shopping, dining and street entertainment there and a wonderful atmosphere (I think :) )

We also enjoy DTD in the evenings. If your DD is into Lego we like to sit and have a drink & relax and watch our DDs play with the Lego :)

Oh yes the Boardwalk area is lovely :)

We do actually struggle in the evenings.

Usually our son is tired after a hectic day and does not really want to go out.
Also it the only disadvantage of staying in a villa, with no entertainment on site as it were you have to drive everywhere. The plus points for us make a villa essential though.
Joshua likes to play in the pool and watch some TV so it is nice for us to get the chance to relax too.

Sometimes we will go out late afternoon and stay out for a few hours, maybe at one of the malls and we also like a walk round EPCOT or MGM or Sea World too, these 3 parks are ideal for a late afternoon or evening stroll.

As we stay in Kissimmee we love a drive down to Old Town , it's just so different from anything else in Orlando and the atmosphere particularly at weekends is good too.

Now and again I often find myself going out on my own for a quick drink and in the process often get a take out for our supper - especially at the Outback restaurant...

We like to have a nice meal and relax, but as well as the dinner shows there isn minature golf, the small fairground type places, such as on thew 192 where there are go karts etc at old town, at Pleasure Island there is the Adventurers club, I have seen children in there, and it is not too riske, the Boardwalk and also the Disney fireworks and shows.

Eat and sleep :rotfl: Seriously, there is Adventure Golf, the various fireworks shows, dinner shows (Dixie Stampede is supposed to be quite good), cinema. There is loads to do if you've got the energy for it, which I have to admit we never seem to.

Pirates Cove miniature golf looks good, especially when floodlit at night. Also there is Fun Spot, fair ground and go karts, at the top end of International Drive just before Festival Bay.

What about shopping? Premium Designer outlet is a bit cooler after dark.

since we always leave the parks by noon, we like to go back to the parks in the evening, for the evening parade, fireworks, just to walk around since they're pretty at night, etc.....also some of the rides are nice at night (e.g. splash mountain)...

also, since we get up so early in the morning, we tend to go to sleep relatively early at night...

we usually go to the comedy club in PI one night, but your child is still too young for that...

and we sometimes go to DisneyQuest once or twice... (we have APs, so it's easy to pop into things for an hour or two)....but actually, we often do DQ in the afternoon rather than the evening...

also in the afternoons, after we leave the parks, we eat, then rest and watch some TV while DH catches up with work for a few hours on his laptop), then we swim, fish, rent bikes, boats, go to a movie (in DTD), etc......
in the late afternoon (about 5) we head over to TL (if it's not raining) until closing.....then we eat dinner and either veg out in front of the TV or go back to the parks or DTD....

We most often visit during fairly peak times now, so the parks are open until late and that's where we usually spend the evenings. After park closing, we're not fit for much more than heading back to our accommodation, as we like to get out quite early in the mornings. We go out early, take a break mid-afternoon and then return for the evening park parades and fireworks.

On non-park days, or at quieter times when the parks close relatively early, we like to visit DD (although it can be very busy and uncomfortable) and PI / Westside / Boardwalk just to stroll around and soak up the atmosphere. Mini golf is another favourite, although we don't often seem to find the time for this! I must admit, we never seem to be lost for something to do - our problem is trying to fit it all in! ;)

Thanks everybody for your replies. :sunny:
I think you have all given me enough to do, I am doing dixie stampede this time and i will do disney quest too. Where is boardwalk?
thankyou.

We normally don't do much as not having a car we are fairly limited. We played pirates golf, went to the outlet mall and just wandered down the I Drive. We did see Wishes and Ilumminations once but otherwise we normally crashed out tired from the day.

Next time being onsite it will be interesting as I have plans to go to the Boardwalk and DTD plus loads of other stuff providing I have the stamina. ;)

Hi Lesley!

It is next to / behind Epcot.

You can get there on foot or by boat from the International Gateway (between France & the UK in the World Showcase). Takes 5-10 minutes walking and you can't miss it.

Or if you are driving follow signs for the "Epcot Resort Hotels" and then follow signs for the Boardwalk. When you park, tell the guard you are shopping / dining / visiting and they will direct you to a parking space - and then by foot follow signs to "The BoardWalk". You can't miss it.

You can also get a bus from AK / MK / DTD to the Boardwalk resort or a boat from MGM :)

Hope that helps.

Karen

Thankyou very much Karen that is a great help. Will definately be doing boardwalk.
