Hi everyone! I will be in Orlando 1-5 Jul 04. I'm looking to find other things to do in Orlando besides going to Disney World. Can anyone give me some good tips? I will have my 5 year old with me and I don't plan on staying at DW the whole time.

I know about the waterpark, but that's about it. I don't want to spend all my money at theme parks. Know what I mean. Any advice?

I would love to rent a moped and drive certain parts of the city. Is that possible? OK, hope to hear from you.

Cruise international drive! The shops, restaurants, and people are enough entertainment alone. I'm devoting a whole night to it on my trip. Make sure you walk the whole thing, as there's a big outlet mall at the end of it. It's a good activity for arrival day, if you don't want to use a park hopper day off your ticket.

We went to the "Mercado" (don't ask me where it is, but I think it's at the end of I-drive) & walked around there & then went to the Titanic Exhibit. My DS is 8 & he was really fascinated with the whole Titanic tragedy. Don't know if a 5 y/o would get into that though.

Also, hit the Disney outlet stores!! Bet your 5 y/o daughter likes to shop ~ especially for Disney items!! That's always fun & even my boys enjoy that since they get tons of stuff at quite a bargain.

Just for cheap entertainment, we went resort hopping just to check out the different theming. That's fun & no cost either.

I'm sure you'll get plenty of suggestions here though! Enjoy your trip!

Thanks very much for the info. Mishetta, you're in Detroit? I have family in Detroit. Went to Northern HS. What part of the city are you in?

My 7 year old loves Lego Land at DTD. Some more good places to go are the Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum and Wonderworks.
I would suggest picking up a coupon book (you can get the anywhere in Orlando) and looking through there to find things to do.

You mean there's more in Orlando besides Disney??????!!!!!!!!???????

What type of pass for WDW are you buying? You are only going to be there for 4 days. So if your buying any type of PH it would be a waste to go to other places in Orlando and not use the days at WDW.

There is Ripleys believe it or not and that upside down building that is called Wonderworks(I think) on I-Drive. Also you can drive to the ocean one day Cocoa Beach is only like an hour away. Kennedy space center is about an hour away also. I think next summer when we go to FL will will check out that Gatorland. I have ds's that will be 10 and 7 and they would love that!! Hope i helped some!
