ok im stuck in dallas/ft worth this sunday, what can i do????

planning on ripleys believe it not, but thats what 1 hr or 2???

any other ideas???

hey drove through there once, was actually past the rail bridge before i knew it... a lot smaller than you think it is from the pics....

and im trying to keep my wife from shopping.. thats why shes getting her tinker belle tattoo......

Well, there's always the West End for shopping/eating, and then you could also go to the Book Depository or Dealey Plaza, because they're right there. (Although if you don't want to be depressed all day, it's probably a good idea to skip the Book Depository museum.)

If you want to shop, there's Northpark Mall (which has a Maggiano's and a Cheesecake Factory across the street) or the Galleria. Both are easy to find/get to.

You could go ice skating downtown at the Americas Ice Garden rink (in the Plaza of the Americas)....


...what kind of stuff are you looking for? That'll make it much easier to make a recommendation!

Where actually are you stuck? In Dallas proper or outside? Depending on where you are, Ft. Worth is a good place to visit too.

my wife, the lovely stacy, is getting a tinker belle tattoo, so were driving down sat night ( tattoos are illeagle to get in oklahoma)and then we have the rest of the day to goof off....ripleys is a decent bet... but im thinkin thats just an hr or two...maybe a mall if we can find one... any disney stores in dallas/ft worth??? usually were there is disney there is a quality mall..

Ripley's is okay I guess. Been there done that kind of thing. If you want to be in that area of town, there is a Disney Store in Parks Mall in Arlington.

In Arlington, there is the Ballpark where you could probably take a tour, but like others said before. What exactly are you looking to do? Sightsee, eat, shop, or what? Let us know, we'll find you something to do.

You could visit Frisco, which is close to Dallas. There is a Disney Store in Stonebriar Mall, which also has a Cheesecake Factory, a Chili's Too AND a California Pizza Kitchen. Personally though...I recommend the Sonic Drive-In in the Food Court. Yes..an INDOOR Sonic Drive In. What a concept, hey? I work there, but I won't be there on Sunday cuz it's my day off.

There is also the Grapevine Mills Mall which is closer to Arlington than Frisco. I've never been but I believe that there is a Rainforest Cafe there. And there is a Bass Pro Shop in Grapevine too if you are into stuff like that. We stopped at the one in Springfield, Missouri over Christmas and that place is something else.

Don't know about any Disney stores in that area. I bet you could do a search on google and find one. I guess it all depends on how much driving you want to do after you get here.

I loved the Book Depository Museum. Make sure to rent the headphones if you go there. You'll learn alot more that way than by just reading the signs by the displays.

My favorite place in Dallas... and I haven't been there in about 10 years was the Texas Commerce Bank. It is right up from the Book Depository, past the stores that are in the factory buildings. It has a very serene water garden under the street level. Very peaceful if you want to have a picnic lunch.

No one has really mentioned Ft. Worth, so I'll throw in my 2 cents. Ft. Worth is a great place to visit. The stockyards are fun and unique. There is also the museum district with several terrific museums: the Kimball art museum, Amon Carter museum of western art, and the Modern art museum. These three museums are all very close to each other. Ft. Worth also has a nice botanical gardens. There are plenty of things to do in the D/FW area - it just depends on your interests.
