what to do in Aug 16-22nd

Hey guys, we are scheduled to go to WDW from Aug 16-22( yes I know that it is hot and humid central then!). We are going to be staying at our first deluxe at the Poly, and were wondering is they anything special or neat going on at the parks around that time? Thanks for your answers

We were there the second week in August in 2010 and there wasn't anything special going on. Because it's summer, Disney doesn't have to schedule special events to bring in the crowds.

Frozen Summer Fun at DHS was from July through September this past year and was put into place to compete with Diagon Alley. It isn't known if FSF will return.

There aren't any special events going on then - we've been at that time twice before - but the crowds really thin out after the 15th or so as lots of southern schools head back then. I'll be there then too! (Actually we'll be there the 7th to the 30th for our wedding on the 13th!) honestly I found the weather not too bad and get used to it quickly - just remember to HYDRATE!
