My son went skiing today and gor frostbite on his cheek..not severe..we put warm towels on it for awhile to warm the skin back up and the white welt went away..is this all we can do? While protecting it from further wind and cold for a week or so>:confused3

I don't know anything about frostbite but I sure hope he's ok!!:grouphug:

You definitely don't want to rub it. Just bring it back to normal temp slowly, which it sounds like you did. I would but a thin layer of vaseline on it whenever he's going outside. It'll help keep in his body heat and protect the skin from the harsh conditions.

"What to do for Frostbite?"

I'm going to go out on a limb and say hmm call a doctor:confused3 The dis is alot of things, but a substitute for medical attention it is not.

He has an appointment tomorrow for the Dr...Just wanted to know what immediate steps we could do to help out.

Thanks to all
