What to do at WDW/Resort on Debarkation?

Hi all. We are sailing the Fantasy this summer and taking DCL transportation upon debarkation to Disney’s Yacht Club resort. What are our options for dealing with our luggage and having a home base/somewhere to get out of the heat until our room is ready? We tried and failed to rent a cabana at Stormalong Bay to give us a place to put our belongs and at least have shade, so unless someone cancels, that’s not an option. We do still plan on Stormalong Bay for at least some of the time, but we’d like to get out of the heat for a bit too. Anyone familiar with the EPCOT area resorts have any ideas for how deal with our cruise luggage/beat the heat until our room is ready?

You can check your luggage at bell services and drop your bags. I'd keep a small carryon with suits and basic necessities (meds/electronics) and see where the day goes.

I'd probably meander the lobby and then head to the pool. If you put early check in as your only request, you might not even have to wait that long for a room to be ready.

Leave your bags with bell services. No need to store them yourselves. I just carry a small backpack with swim stuff and store the rest.

Schedule lunch at Ale & Compass right there at the hotel. Air conditioning + good food. Or, take the bus to Disney Springs and see a movie, bowl, or have lunch there.

We often (more times than not) get our room early, if we notify them that we have no room requests and our arrival time will be early. Just this weekend, our Kidani room was ready at 10:30am! No promises, of course, but hopefully you won't have to kill time until 4pm.

Yacht Club has a nice big lobby. You can always sit on a couch or comfy chair in the lobby and just chill or eat a snack. The general store will have snacks. You can also easily walk between Yacht and Beach Club. That will kill a ton of time, while being in the AC.

As others have noted, Bell Services will hold all of your luggage for you. Having lunch at Ale and Compass is a great suggestion. If you would like something more casual, the Marketplace at YC has good QS food and has indoor seating. You can spend some time at the pool, relax in the lobby, even get ice cream/sundaes at the take-out window at Beaches and Cream (or make an ADR and have lunch there). There are places to sit in the shade on the back patio of Y&C and shaded tables near B&C to relax, have ice cream, etc. There is also an arcade near the pool if you want to play some games indoors.

Next-door to the Yacht and Beach club are the Beach Club Villas and the solarium there is a very nice area to relax. Lots of seating on comfy sofas and chairs and fully air-conditioned.

You can always store your luggage at Bell Services until your room is ready. Stormalong Bay also has lockers for smaller items.
