What Time Will the SW Fares be Released on the 14th?

I am so glad I got up at 6! I booked all on points. I got great travel times both ways and spent 71,000 rapid rewards for the 5 of us out of BWI. No EBCI. I need to get the SW gift cards with my Target Red card to buy them.

Last time I had a Southwest gift card I could Not pay for ebci with them so check before buying!

I got a great deal for Austin to Orlando for Nov. 23. $103 per person! Coming back on Monday, Nov. 30 is really high, so I booked the one-way for now.

Both SWA & Jet Blue are running ~$250 for that return flight. Just the other day, on Jet Blue, it was $211. I almost bit on it, but decided to wait for SWA.

I guess it's not going to go down. Not sure what to do for our return. Maybe we'll just stay indefinitely!

UGH!! The prices out of HOU were high. I went ahead and booked since we are so close to Christmas. but I'll be watching fares hoping to rebook. Paid $1000 for 2 roundtrip. And used almost 100,000 pts for our other 3. Super sad!!

Houston is one of the most expensive cities to fly out of no matter what time of year! UGH! I bought our 12/5 return flights for $141 each but our initial departure day of 11/28 was $229 each and I couldn't do it. I guess I will stalk and hopefully find something cheaper. We could leave the night before for $147 each but then we would have to pay for an extra hotel night and that kind of defeats the purpose. This waiting and watching is going to drive me crazy!

You can not use a gift card for ebci. You have to use a credit card. I had planned to use gift cards today for that. I had $100 so $44 of it went to the fees only. I booked on points also.

That was fast! Before I could complete my transaction the Wanna Get Away got away! Got our second choice for the same $$ but a little earlier that I would have liked. You snooze, you lose.

Bill From PA

Check back every few weeks. The wanna get away fares for the flights you really wanted may come back and you could switch.

Wow, I just went back and checked the flights I booked to see if anything changed. The way there is sold out already! The way back is $40 round trip more expensive per person (so $200 more for us). So glad I got up this morning to book!!

Are you flying around Thanksgiving? SW released a very limited number of WGA flights intentionally as the Sunday after Thanksgiving is the business travel day of the year. They will most likely release more later when their Business Select and Anytime fares are not filling up. Keep checking back periodically.

Got my flights booked today! Wasn't planning to book yet...but since 2 Wanna Get Away fares sold out within 2 hours, I figured I'd better go for it. MKE - MCO $168 PP on Thurs 11/19, MCO-MKE $140 PP on Mon 11/23.

I have been stalking similar dates to mine for a few weeks. Today my dates were released at about $15 less a ticket than the dates I have been stalking. Not sure if I should grab it or wait to see if it is cheaper on Tuesday. I'm not worried about it selling out.

For anyone that was having issues adding companions, I was just able to do it online. Looks like they fixed the error. Some additional seats may have been released too, since a flight I was looking at that was previously sold out is now available for the same amount of points as first thing this morning.

Booked within a few minutes (max) of the booking window opening. Direct flight from IND to MCO on Dec 19 were all $246-268 pp each way! About twice what I've paid in the past. Even afternoon flights for the Friday before were $199 initially and within 20 minutes were up to $246. The Anytime fares for the early afternoon flight were gone by mid morning.

I was up this morning and I think I got good rates.. can't remember which one was $150 and the other $129. Right around my original estimation, but I wished it had been cheaper. It didn't dawn on me that they might be more because it was PHL and Jersey Week. But I'm still happy! So glad it's done!

I noticed that some were sold out this morning and then more came out. Does that usually happen? I haven't really ever stalked airfare so I don't know.

We're actually coming home on Nov 8. Still can't add the companion pass. I'm on hold now, but since I'm at work, this is a big pain! And other flights I was contemplating (flying home to PHL instead of EWR to get a nonstop) are now sold out.

Just FYI- November 8th is the end of Jersey week. Flights into Philly that day are going to be expensive or sold out. I got my return flight for $150 this morning. When I was looking at airfare last summer for times during jersey week, the Sunday flights from mco to philly was either sold out or at least $350 pp. I saw some flights at over $400 pp. I would suggest deciding quickly on Philly.

I just looked at the fares... going down to MCO has jumped to from $128 to $150 and coming home has jumped from $150 to $242!

I love the DIS!! Without you guys I would not have known to be up at dawn to buy plane tickets!!

I got online around 3:30 this afternoon and was able to book my flights as my DH's companion so we are all set for mid-December.

Yup, that's why I was upset that the flight I was contemplating to Philly was sold out after initially being available this morning. I used my available points to book my boyfriend on the same EWR flight since the companion pass wasn't working, and I was afraid to get stuck with nothing for him. It worked out in the end, the companion pass glitch got fixed, I freed up points, and the Philly flight became available again. So I've got both options booked on points and can decide once our dates are set.

I want to thank everyone for such great info. I got up today before 6 a.m. and booked my flights. Going to MCO the rate was $141, the rate has jumped to $271.

Thanks :lovestruc

Same thing here...we are flying out of New Orleans on Nov 19th and returning on the 27th. Just snagged the one-way for now and hawk-eyeing the return fares now:) They were a bit high for our party of 4.

Booked from Long Island to MCO at 6:15 am.
$1812 for 4 people round trip from Wed to Mon over Thanksgiving.

1hr later it was $2400....last night and now it is $2800!!! That is crazy!!
I agree with PP's that fares will peak then go down again. Not sure if it will
go lower than what I paid.

On a regular day fares fluctuate greatly always have to watch.
I do love there policy for no penalty changes.

Going to Europe this summer and it was torture to watch my Delta flight
go down after I booked without being able to change it without a huge $300 penalty PP

Booked our return flights for 10/31. Was slightly more ($167) than our flight to Orlando (150). But they are both direct flights out of Kansas City and we used points for our return flight back.

Also, booked early bird check in coming back. I can't remember but I believe I read to do that on these boards. I guess that means we won't have to deal with check in as we will probably be in the parks somewhere 24 hours before.

Yes they check you in at 36 hrs before so it doesn't matter when you check in. When you get back to hotel at night ask them to print your boarding passes. You will have the same number as if you sat at 24hrs.
I just found this out after I booked earlybird and then checked in at 24 hrs anyway LOL

One thing to keep in mind about EBCI is that Business Select passengers are assigned their seats first, and then Anytime Fares and then WGA Fares. Even if you buy your seats the moment they are released and purchase EBCI, you will still be assigned a boarding position AFTER Business Select and Anytime Fares.

Don't forget the A-List passengers. They are assigned boarding positions after the Business Select passengers, starting with position A16. Since you never know how many of them will be on any given flight, it can have little effect or a big effect on the boarding position for the first EBCI customers. My DH has A-List status but when we travel together he gives up his preferred slot and boards with me. But some A-Listers board in their assigned spot and save a seat for their traveling companion.
