We are going to Disney May 10 - May 15. What time should we plan on getting to the parks? We are going at opening, but how much sooner than opening should we arrive (both on regular and extra morning hour days)? Any help would be appreciated. Do you think Animal Kingdom will be extremely busy on Mother's Day? :wizard:

Thanks
Jennifer

We like to arrive about 40 minutes, or more, before the parks are scheduled to open.
Time passes fast as we are chatters & have met many super CMs--all kinds of advice there!--& wonderful, interesting park-goers.:goodvibes

Yes...arrive early. However people rarely calculate correctly the amount of time it truly takes you to get from point A to point B.

People may think if we leave the hotel by ____ we'll be there by ______ but they forget to calculate parking, walking, tram riding, etc.

So- best bet - give your self at least an add'l 15 minutes longer than what you normally think it should take.

Definitely leave 40 minutes to 1 hour before opening. We always get more done in the morning hours then later in the day. We get our fastpasses early too. Your not going during a super busy time, so huge crowds won't be a big factor for you.

For MK we make 8 am breakfast reservations at the Crystal Palace. They let us in early and we get to walk down main st when it's deserted. It's really cool.

Heck, we don't waist time on breakfast BEFORE arriving.

We come early, ride a few attractions before most sleepy-heads are awake, then, when the throngs start meandering in... we have a nice breakfast inside the park.

If he gives you any trouble, have him call ME.
My DW and I will be up getting ready to go and can "talk some sense into him".

Its your vacation, no need to get up early, enjoy the late rise. The parks are open all day

And those of us who can count on having the parks gloriously to ourselves with no lines and no congestion in the mornings would like to thank you and yours for snoozin' late.

Don't ever change.

If you'd rather wait an hour for each ride instead of 10 minutes, this is great advice. We just got back from 2 weeks at WDW (peak spring break season). Even though it was peak season, the wait times were very minimal for the first couple hours of each day. Except for a couple big rides (Soarin, Space Mountain), most of the attractions had very short waits in the morning.
