What time ... leave room ... get to park?

Hi! I'm staying at Shades of Green, and I want to be at Magic Kingdom for the opening each morning. If it opens at 9, what time should I arrive there? And about when should I be loading up on a shuttle bus to get there? I reckon I'll take the Monorail from there. Thanks for your help!

I always give myself an hour from the time I want to be there. So if you want to be there by 8:30 then get on the bus at 7:30. Chances are it wont take that long but if you have to wait on a bus being at the station early will assure you getting there by the time the park opens! Have fun!

An hour is a bit on the early side (as Gina said) but it will certainly allow for a 'safe' arrival window.
Unless things have changed, SoG buses to MK do take you to TTC and then you'd need to take the monorail to the MK gates from there.
You will want to get to MK between 8:30am and 8:40am for a 9am open-time. They'll start the Rope-Drop Ceremony about 8:50 with it ending straight-up at 9:00, and you'll want to be there early to be ahead of the crowd.
Also, SoG participates in EMH and you'd want to be there just as early before EMH open-time on those mornings.

Good morning,

We just got back from the Shades of Green. The buses start running at 0730. We wanted to get there at 0730, since we were doing EMH at 0800, so we took the Shady Shuttle, which is an informal jeepy kind of thing. You can't order or reserve it, but you can frequently catch it in the morning. It's a large golf cart. We hopped it to the edge of SoG property, then walked to the Poly to pick up the monorail.

It's not a long walk if you can't get the jeepy, but I'd allow ten extra minutes for the walk.

The SoG buses run every 15 minutes to the TTC, but only once per hour to the parks.

Let me know if you have any other questions about the shuttle service. BTW: Watch out for the dining hours. We didn't find them convenient for our touring. Other than that, we had a wonderful time. I asked for an 'early check-in', and they had a room ready at 0900 on the day we arrived! Now THAT's an early check-in!!
