What Time is the 4 o'clock Rain? -- Updates 11/2-4 -- Tim's surprise and Marco&Recap

Looks like fun in Storybook Circus.
They did a good job in that area

I have yet to do Splash since they put in the lap bars.

This was the first time I thinks since 2011 with the girls that Mark and I were on it together

LTT is a good meal for lunch. Nice they gave you the proclamation and mug.

We really like it and I' sure we will be back.

Love the Peoplemover. I could ride it all day and night.

So could I...especially when tired.

Both so serious on Buzz. LOL

We each hate to lose.

Brave people going on Tea Cups.

I just won't go on it with my youngest son because he will spin it until I puke!

WOW! That is some rain.

Most rain we had every seen.

He certainly loves his hats. LOL

He does and he likes giving all of you some good laughs with them.

Yum! The best juice in WDW is at Tusker House

I give the edge to the juice at Boma. I think it is just a tad different.

Hello Brenda and Emily. I hope to see them in December.

I hope you get to see them; we've already talked and I think we have our plans set.

All caught up.

Good to hear Scotty.

How wonderful that you got to meet up with Brenda and Em :)
Great picture of you all with Donald outside

Linda, I was so excited. If I'm not mistaken, you've met them before?

Thanks; I thought the picture turned out well since they had the photopass photographer, our cameras, phones, etc., to take pictures. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Going to back to a couple of your responses to my replies-

I always wondered why the line for Peter Pan is so long all the time. I suspect that since it is a low capacity ride/slow loader (kind of like Dumbo) and since it is a ride everyone in the family can enjoy (again, like Dumbo), the lines build up. We love Peter Pan, but the only time we will ride is first thing in the morning or with a FP.

You are right, it is a slow loader; but to me it always seems slower than Dumbo was. We don't do it either unless first thing or FP (spoiler alert...did not do this trip).

You also commented about how your tennis shoes were wet for at least two days. We experienced that on our trip during Tropical Storm Faye in 2008. I think my shoes are still wet!!!

Wow...I remember reading about that storm.

I'll add my favorite storm picture to the collection. The boys can hardly walk because the wind is whipping:

P8210738-1.jpg

It looks like the boys will blow over in a heartbeat.

Where are the crocodiles in Dinoland???

It's hard to explain. I believe you can exit Dinoland two ways: one way goes towards the Nemo show; the other way which I believe is nearer the Dig Site, is where the crocodile is.

I LOVE your pictures of EE. The silhouette shot and picture of the riders coming out of the mountain are fantastic. Also love the redneck ride photo of Mark.

Thank you so much. Mark truly looks scared to death and he's been on it numerous times.

The Dino ride photo is great too. Looks like you had a bunch of posers riding along with you. :rotfl2:

Maybe Disney ought to surprise us and move the camera so we don't all pose anymore? ;)

The knit hat Mark is modeling in the dino dump shop may be my favorite so far.

That's a cute one.

Or it was until I saw you wearing the giraffe ears! That would make a really great addition to a Halloween costume!

I really am sorry I didn't bring those home with me.

I am officially jealous of you for meeting up with Brenda and Emmy and of them for having a chance to meet up with you too! What nice pictures from your get together.

We worked hard on setting up that date and I'm so glad it worked perfectly with our breakfast times.

We have been to the Tusker House breakfast once- we enjoyed the food and the character interaction.

It's my second favorite after Crystal Palace (Cape May used to but I think the food selection there has gone down considerably).

Gosh I think I was 12 or more pages behind.

I am so glad your brothers surgery was a success.

Thanks, Jen; we are too and he is not haing any problems breathing since which is a great thing.

And I am so sorry about Mark's job situation. That totally sucks. I hope something wonderful comes along and he can tell the to kiss his ....Aston Martin!

I like that...we will be sure to tell them to do that.

Thats some bad rain. I have only experienced it there a few times and it always sucks that it is changing your plans. I hate wet shoes!!!!

Wet gym shoes are the worse!

Looks like a fun breakfast and fabulous Dis meet!!!

Yes to both. Loved the breakfast and our new friends.

:scared1: to all these rain pictures and stories. I guess we have been incredibly lucky. And really hoping that luck isn't running out anytime soon! Wow!!

I will keep my fingers crossed that it stays away for your trip.

I have yet to try Tusker House. In general I feel like I have a lot more exploring to do in Animal Kingdom. For example, I had no idea there were crocodiles in Dinoland! In fact I think I've only been in Dinoland once.

I think you definitely have more exploring to do at AK!

Echoing the comments of others in being thankful your brother's surgery was a success and hoping all works out on the job front. :goodvibes

Thank you for both.

I know in May 2009 in May it was the wetttest week in 50 years at WDW!!!!!I am not sure if I took pix, but the good thing was the parks were empty and rides were walk on!!!!

Wow...the rides were open? They closed all the outdoor ones during this storm and I'm pretty sure with the power outage they had to close a lot more.

Isn't it wonderful when the stars align and we get to meet some amazing Dis-people! So happy you were able to spend some time with Brenda and Em:thumbsup2

It truly is, Queen (and hoping we get to meet you next year).

We loved our TH breakfast when we were there and would definitely bobok another! Jeff of course preferred evening buffets when he was a little more on the hungry side:lmao:

I think most men prefer a dinner buffet when they are hungrier. :rotfl2:

Wow that is some rain you got!!! That rain wall is crazy.

To have had it in June and then in August was insane; but last month's was worse than June's rain.

I love the photos of the mini dis meet with brenda and em! I am so excited to meet them; and I hope we will be able to meet to say hi during december!

I hope we get to meet too. I will do a PTR with our plans and hopefully we will be at the same park on the same day. :)

We've never eaten at the Tusker House, but after seeing these great pictures, my "only one ADR" for next trip plan maybe out the window. :)

It's a really good breakfast if you are breakfast people. If you time it right, you an get breakfast and lunch. :)

Awesome that you met Em & Brenda! I must be neglect in her TR...?

It was super meeting them; what do you mean you must be "neglect" in her TR?

Love all the photos with you, Mark & the gang at Tuskers.

Thank you. :)

Yay for DISmeets....wonder who the next one could be???

Gee, I wonder who? :joker:

I think it's funny that Mark does EE and you do Dinosaur. Is he scared like me?? Or is it the bumpiness? Either way, I don't do the time rovers. I'm going to be in trouble when Bradey gets old enough to like it. :crazy2:

Mark had neck surgery a few years ago and does not want to go through it again. He's fine on coasters because he knows how to hold his head for the motion of the car. On Tower of Terror and Dinosaur, you don't know what to expect when and it bothers him that it will mess up his neck again. Yes, you will definitely have to take Bradey on Dinosaur.

Tusker House looks amazing as usual. Have to try it next trip for sure.

You really must; I think Bradey would really enjoy it.

Love the hat pictures! You guys were on your A game in the gift shops.

I have not eaten at the Tusker House, but now I have seen tater tots on the buffet menu, so THIS WILL HAPPEN. :rotfl:

Another great DIS-meet! :thumbsup2 You've got to be setting a record by now.

Oh Kathy.... I had neck surgery a few years ago and refuse to ride any coasters at all! Dinosaur was one of my favorite rides...I really hate sitting it out.

The closest thing to a coaster I do now is Test Track...and I can only do it once during a trip...and usually take a pain pill afterward.

The first time we did Disney in December was 10 weeks post neck fusion...and only 3 weeks out of the brace... I barely remember ....

Nini

How awesome that you were able to meet Brenda and Emily! You know how I LOVE my Dismeets! So cool!

And awesome pics of breakfast - I need to go eat mine - and I bet is won't be anywhere near as good as that. LOL

Sorry, I have been out of the loop... I need to go stalk your FB page...

D~

We looked really hard this trip because last trip we found that Mark was wearing a lot of the same hats from previous trips.

I have not eaten at the Tusker House, but now I have seen tater tots on the buffet menu, so THIS WILL HAPPEN. :rotfl:

I gather that tater tots are another Captain staple of food? ;)

Another great DIS-meet! :thumbsup2 You've got to be setting a record by now.

I'm pretty sure that there are several people who have way more than me (Brenda would be at the top of that list).

Nini, Mark feels he knows to sit straight back on the coasters and not move his head; it works for him. As long as he is comfortable, that is what is important to me. We went to Disney about eight weeks after his surgery and he still wore his brace too. I have to tell you...it got us "front row" parking on a couple of occasions because the Cm's saw his brace. :)

How awesome that you were able to meet Brenda and Emily! You know how I LOVE my Dismeets! So cool!

I had many wonderful DIS meets this trip.

And awesome pics of breakfast - I need to go eat mine - and I bet is won't be anywhere near as good as that. LOL

Hard to top Tusker House breakfast. :)

Sorry, I have been out of the loop... I need to go stalk your FB page...

I'm so glad you had a great getaway with your friends from work.

So after our wonderful DISmeet with Brenda and Emily, it was time to use our fastpasses for our two-week safari:

Pretty soon we were in our vehicle in the back row. Now this had an advantage for pictures, but it sure makes for one rough ride in the back.

You don't need words here, pictures will do:

Once we safely returned from our two-week safari, we decided to take a train ride to Rafiki's Planet. Mark had not been there in many years and really wanted to take a trip over there.

Continued in next post

We arrived at Rafiki's Planet:

For you Pat (Poolrat)

We met Rafiki:

And then we did some exploring:

We went out to the petting area:

We then headed back to the train station for our ride back:

We were back at Harambe and very hot and very thirsty. So while we listened to these guys:

We got these beverages:

We then went to see some bats and tigers (well, Mark went to see the bats...I stayed outside for that part) and some other animals along the way:

We were now ready to leave. We wanted to get back to the resort and get some rest in for our evening plans. On the way out, we saw NOT Miss Devine, but a male version:

Up next, a new ADR for us and another DIS meet

/
Still have not made it out to Rafiki's. I can't believe I forgot it again. This is why I dislike AK....I just don't like the layout. Too much backtracking and forgetting things :(

Looks like fun though.

OK I'm caught up. Between making a photobook as a present for a friend I met here on the DIS, fall ball with my grandson and granddaughter and my nieces wedding this past weekend I have been AWOL.

I am sadly going to miss CP this trip. :( I had hoped to do a tour of the steam engines but my DH decided he doesn't want to do it now and I can't get an ADR.

I have only been to LTT for dinner but lunch looks good. I have traveled Disney during monsoons. It is not fun. The Coral Reef and 8 soggy people made for a less than pleasant time at dinner last year.

I love AK. I may not do EE this trip as my DH has a fear of the ride breaking down and my being stranded at the top. I have a fear of heights and need ankle surgery so getting down would require a lot of help. He loves the ride but won't do them solo. I have an early ADR for Tusker House. It is worth it just for the juice. How did you get pics of the 2 of you together there? All my character meals I take one of DH then he takes one of me. I would love to have us together. A male Devine, I would love to see him. Guess I will be stalking that area in december. :rotfl:

OK caught up. Ready for more now.

Mary Ellen, I am so sorry I missed responding to you last night. I had a lot on my mind.

I know there are people who get to FB easier and those who get here easier (who aren't even on FB), so I try to cover both ends. Good to see you.

Lol Kathy A lot on your mind is an understatement! So glad your brither's surgery went well!

Love Mark in the dreds. Too funny. I may have to get that pirate hat for my costume. So cute!

Back later!

I'm sorry that I've been so absent, but I am all caught up now!

I am glad that your brothers procedure went well and I hope that he has a speedy recovery.

Poor Mark. I am so sorry that you guys are dealing with this. It amazes me how poorly some companies treat employees and it seems like things like this are happening more and more often these days. I will be thinking about you guys and I hope for the best possible outcome.

Mark is now considered to be my official authority on hats at WDW! It is great to be able to see them all modelled by such a willing participant :rotfl:

Wow, that is a lot of rain! You really must have gotten soaked, even with your ponchos on.

Your LTT lunch looked delicious. I really enjoy eating there, the food is always so good.

Nice day at AK. I always take a ton of pictures on the safari too...usually too many! We have not done Rafiki in a few years. The kids get bored with it. I read about the new character dressed up as bamboo but I don't remember his name.

Hey, I wasn't too far behind. :cool1:

Great day so far at AK. I booked a late breakfast there next month... wait almost this month! ::yes:: Can't wait to order a few carafes of that juice. Is it the same at Boma?

Nice DISmeet! When we meeting up? :scratchin

We haven't been to Rafiki's in a while. We will have to hit that next time.

Still loving the hat pics and looks like you saw quite a few animals on the safari.

Caught up and questions :wave2: What did you think of the male version of " Miss Devine ?" When he first arrived out there I read somewhere he had a name but can't remember what it is ( or where I read that :confused3 )

Was he easy to spot ? Really liked the pictures, I need to get there and hunt him out again I had no luck not that long ago

Continued thoughts and prayers

Glad your 2 week Safari went well!! I can look at the Btas as long as I am not toooooo close !!:rotfl2:I also have not been to Rafiki's in a while , maybe next month !!!

Wow!!! Never knew there was a Mr. DeVine! Very cool!
I haven't been out to Rafiki's Planet Watch since the kids were real young-maybe 6 and 8. Thought I'd get out there this past summer what with 2 trips in a month's time. No such luck.

Sorry I'm so slow with my responses :(. I am so sorry to hear that about Mark's job. I hope he finds another job soon so he can tell his boss "Adios". I swear employers demand loyalty from employees yet they don't return it. I will keep your family in my prayers for you, Mark and your brother.

On a lighter note; I love your update. You really got some good shots of the animals on the safari. The food at Tusker House looked really, really good too. I'm starving!!

I know in May 2009 in May it was the wetttest week in 50 years at WDW!!!!!I am not sure if I took pix, but the good thing was the parks were empty and rides were walk on!!!!

I remember that!! That was the trip we had the Dis meet at Epcot. I still have the lanyard you gave to everyone. I got to meet some AWESOME people; a lot of whom I call good friends to this day :grouphug:

That's the first time I have seen someone's pictures of Bamboo.

Nice animal pictures. Glad you took the time to go to Rafiki's. We think it is an interesting place.

I have been too busy to read the chatter, so I am out of the loop about Mark's job. I hope I am able to change jobs in about three years. Teaching has so much pressure that comes with it now. Hope he gets something that makes him happy and works perfectly for him. I'd like to feel happy about going to work again.

I have never seen or even heard of the male version of Devine. I don't like him as well, but still really cool to see!!!!
