What Time is the 4 o'clock Rain? -- Updates 11/2-4 -- Tim's surprise and Marco&Recap

Kathy we are eating there for the first time in 2 weeks and I am going to try the soup since you love it so much. I can't wait to see the inside, as I only saw the outside if the place in my solo trip back in May.

ohh those hat pictures!!!!
I just can't believe how FUNNY they really are!!! I LOVE the pictures of you guys with the gargoyles! :rotfl2:

I am MOST excited to try that dang SOUP!!!! you have me SO SO SO EXCITED for it!!!

:thumbsup2

What a great first day! I'm dying to eat at BoG...it's so nice to have somewhere new to go, isn't it? Plus the food looks pretty yummy.

I'm on the fence about booking an ADR at Be Our Guest. Just not too sure if we'd enjoy the food or not. But, Mark's pork chop looks really good.

Ya'll really packed a lot of stuff in your first day. Way to hang in there woman!

I am a Christmas sentimental myself...love to decorate for Christmas, even without having the kids at home now (well, Andy is still there, but you kow what I mean).

What are your dates? We will be there December 3 and leave very early on the 8th; and I know Brenda will be there part of that time too. A DIS meet?

I do know whatcha mean

Wait...you'll be there in December too...we are there 3-6th (tagging along on the Grannie trip...):cloud9:

And HOLY MEGA MULTI-QUOTE BATMAN!!!!!!!!!!!! Impressive!

Woohoo for hat pics, and you kicked Mark's butt on Buzz :woohoo:

Whew! What a fun, full arrival day!

Loved the antlers! Made me giggle!!

BOG sounds fantastic and I'm glad you had another great experience there! The food looks delicious and the restaurant itself is beautiful!

I really liked the pictures of Magic Kingdom and the Castle at night from the Wed Way! Very pretty!

Congrats on the higher score on Buzz!! Woohoo!

You had a great start to your trip, for sure!!

Glad that BoG was good again. I'm happy you shared photos of the pork chop, I almost got that in July.

Excellent hat photos as usual :goodvibes Sounds like a nice arrival day!

Some random thoughts..... :coffee:

You drove to DTD???? Why didnt you take the boat?

WHAT?!?!?! NO EOS at DTD???? :faint:

Tell Mark if he stops the hat pics I'm gone. :p

You should be happy you got that 3rd floor room. Now you can tell everyone you were exercising while at WDW!!! :lmao::lmao:

Be Our Guest... still trying to get an ADR there... It just isn't happening for us. :furious:

You sure had a busy arrival day. I can't wait to see whats in store for day 2. :goodvibes

Have you guessed where here is yet?
No... nobody who hangs out around the Disboards has figured it out yet... :rolleyes1

This was my third time eating here since they opened in December and Mark's second. We were very excited to be dining here once again.
Lucky... I can't wait to try dinner there.

I had the new chicken dish. I haven't decided exactly what the sauce on it tastes like. I'm not crazy about it. But if I scrape most of it off, the food is really good
Now that is an interesting dining review. :rotfl2::lmao:

Because we were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary, we got the Grey Stuff
:thumbsup2

I had the chocolate again...I just love this
I could use one of those right about now.

After that, we headed to the People Mover and took a relaxing ride.
Always a nice leisurely way to enjoy an evening in MK.

It was time to use our Buzz fastpasses. And the impossible happened: I FINALLY BEAT MARK! In fact, I kicked his butt. :lmao::lmao::lmao:
Holy crap!!!! :scared1:

Are you sure you didn't do some creative editing when you posted those pictures? :rolleyes1

Once we were back to the resort, we stopped at the store and got some milk (the one thing I had forgotten to order from Garden Grocer for Mark's cereal).
Because who needs milk with their cereal? :confused3:rotfl:

finally caught up!

bummer about not eating at EoS, hope you fit it in later in the trip! your lunch does look good though!

can't wait to eat at BOG, got dinner ADR and will try lunch too!

:woohoo: on beating Mark on Buzz finally! you both did great on your scores!

love al the hat photos, Mark never disappoints :goodvibes

yikes on no elevator, I don't mind taking stairs, but elevators are great for the move in/out days!

continued prayers for your brother!

looking forward to the report, you got through that first day really fast, i guess you do want to finish this report before your next trip.:thumbsup2

the french onion soup did look really good, i need to make some of that soon, sounds really good.

Oh my gosh the antler picture! :rotfl: :rotfl2: I think I giggle snorted on that one. The Yoda one was awesome too.

The BOG pictures had me drooling. 38 more days before I get to eat there again! I'm going back and forth on the chicken dish, the sauce scares me a little being a picky eater. Maybe I'll try the steak dish instead. :confused3 And that cupcake, yum! ::yes:: (we really need a drooling smily).

I think Buzz might be one of the first rides I drag Jim on. I've been studying up on where the high targets are so I can beat him! That will make him mad because we are very competitive with each other (in a friendly way of course). :lmao:

What are your dates? We will be there December 3 and leave very early on the 8th; and I know Brenda will be there part of that time too. A DIS meet?

We are there for your dates!!
Planning to hook up with Brenda as well so we should all get together :)

Loved the update Kathy!

Thanks, D.

Oh gosh - I wish I would have known about the french onion soup before we went, I would have loved to try it. Next time - it's going on the list.

I've had it three times and loved it each one.

We did not try any of the dishes that you and Mark had... Although, I had to squint really hard to see the port on his pork chop - LOL... I am glad it was good and he liked it.

Mark was fine with that...he doesn't like "stuff" on his food. ;)

I haven't heard the greatest reviews on the chicken - so we stayed away from it.

I liked my chicken, and the sauce was different. I can't quite put my finger on it. But they put WAY TOO MUCH on it; scraping it off helped. This is the second chicken dish they've had; Mark says the first one was much better...it was actually "hen."

I just have to say that I love your outfit too... You look so adorable and COOL!

Thanks. :)

Hmmmm... So, what ride did you ride?

D~

I posted it in the next update. :)

Okay, do tell...what does The Grey Stuff taste like??

NOTHING! To us, it tastes like nothing. We've decided it is a cross between pudding and yogurt and neither of us care for it.

I didn't realize your had already eaten at BOG twice before. Wow - good for you for scoring those impossible ADRs.

Yes, we had gone the second night they opened in December for Mark's birthday; Mary scored an ADR in June and I scored the one in August.

That french onion soup looks SO relish! I don't even like pork chops, but that meal looks really good.

I really like the soup; I love pork chops, but I like really "thin" pork chops.

Cute picture of Mark outside with the gargoyle. Love it!

He is a character that husband of mine.

Sounds like a fun evening and the grey stuff looks really good. Do they serve that at lunch?

I don't know if they serve it at lunch. The only way you can get it at dinner is if you are celebrating something.

Thanks! :cheer2: I do check in on your trip reports from time to time to see what you're up to, I just don't take time to post. I enjoyed reading about your surprise trip for Mark for his birthday last year. I'm turning the Big 4-0 with Mickey on January 2. :dance3:

Congrats on 40. You are still a baby.

It is so hard to tell from the map of OKW how far apart things are, so thanks for the info. Turtle Pond does look like a good location. Knowing you've been in a Studio and can tell me there's plenty of room for 4 of us helps tremendously!

Each section is close to a bus stop so it shouldn't be a far walk in any of the villages.

We're going to BOG on our last night and I'm definitely getting some of that French onion soup and maybe that pork chop!

I hope you like the soup; I have found it to be the least salty of ALL french onion soups I have ever had.

The pictures of be our guest are great...we are eating there our last night Dec.6 and I can't wait. Do you have to ask for the gray stuff? It will be grandson Cody's 13th birthday. Do you get to meet the beast on the way out or where?

Grammy, you cannot ask for the gray stuff. It must be noted (either on your ADR or by one of you wearing a pin) that you are celebrating something. Yes, 99% of the time, the Beast will be available to greet guests after you pay your bill (you need that receipt to meet the Beast); there is a photopass photographer there.

Btw...sorry to hear of your brother's health issues...hopefully they will find a heart for him. Did he and your mom get their housing problem solved?

Thank you; he has a very long road ahead of him and we still aren't sure what is happening. He is still dealing with my mother's housing problems. I guess they got a leeway through at least the end of the year.

:rotfl: 1st picture ??? Is that ANTLERS on Marks head ???:rotfl: lucky it wasn't hunting season in FL !!

Yep, Antlers from the story where they sell the Beauty & The Beast stuff.

We/I have never had dinner at BOG, scored Christmas night ( unless working, too soon to tell ) I am definitely having what Mark had looks delicious ! I have been fortunate to have many lunches there All the cupcakes are great but I find myself fighting with that paper around it all the time, Is it just me ? Kathy do you choose where you sit for dinner, like lunch, or do they seat you and its luck?

No, you do not get to choose where you sit.

see I'm keeping up :thumbsup2

You are doing great.

Love the pics of Be our Guest restaurant. Totally shouted at the computer OH NOS all the petals fell off he'll be doomed to remain a beast forever.

That is funny, Emma. I never even thought of that.

Great update! Love Perry's hat on Mark!

That was one of his favorite's and I'm not even sure he knows who Perry is (just that Cayley loves him).

My guess is DHS for a Saturday morning?! :)

You could be right; update after dinner tonight.

Yaaaaay for getting in your room before 8:30 at night.

I would have been really upset if that had happened again.

Y'all didn't waste any time going to the parks!! :thumbsup2 Love seeing your handsome, hat wearing, hubby in his normal attire. :goodvibes Especially the antlers, don't you just love that new shop?!? It's so pretty in there, even if you don't buy anything, it's really pretty Beauty and The Beast merchandise. :lovestruc

Normally we would have skipped a park on our arrival day, but it was the only day we could get our Be Our Guest ADR. I love that shop and so does Des.

So glad you loved your dinner at BOG, I'm always happy to hear people like their dining experiences. What did you think of the grey stuff?!? :)

We really ahve enjoyed it each and every time. The grey stuff is not good...it is boring.

I'm signing on, really enjoying it so far. :thumbsup2

:welcome::welcome: thank you so much for joining. I'm glad you are enjoying.

Congratulations on 30 years of marriage! :lovestruc We also celebrated our 30th at Disney last year. :goodvibes

Congratulations to you as well. You don't see that as often as we should so kudos to all four of us. :)

What a great first day! I can't wait to try BoG!!!!!!!! :hyper::hyper::hyper:

Ali, I hope you love it as much as we do.

I am like you - I end up packing a lot in arrival day. Just can't help myself. :rotfl2:

Normally we just try to chill, but I really wanted to go to BOG with Mark again and so it was off to the MK.

I did online check-in and as I am driving down I-4 I get a text saying my room is ready. Go figure. :confused3

We did online check in too; that's too funny.

What a great arrival day- Can't wait to see what is in store for your first full day. :goodvibes

Thanks, Pat.

You looked fabulous for your BoG meal! Em had the chicken too and thought it was ok. I tasted it and didn't like it. I thought it had oregano in it?? Not sure but ick. Hmmmm.. you like that French onion soup huh? Mine had no flavor.... maybe it was an off night. :confused3

Thank you. Maybe Em can describe the sauce better than I can. My chicken was nice and moist, but that sauce is just weird to me. I'm sorry your soup had no flavor...hopefully it was just an off night. French Onion is my second favorite soup (next to New England Clam Chowder) and I found it very flavorful and not too salty.

Love the assortment of hats that Mark is sporting!

I really don't know how he keeps finding new ones...they all look the same to me after awhile.

And you have to have your People mover shot of your feet up - it's a MUST do! What a great night! :)

I almost forgot...but then I thought of the DIS and said must get foot picture.

Caught up on your first day- thanks for the links!!!

No problem, Dee.

Pretty great, but busy, arrival day!

Busier than we are used to, but it all worked out.

Love your picture of the welcome arch. No matter how many times you travel under that, it is always special!

It certainly is; always gives me goosebumps.

That is great that you get a picture of Mark with Dumbo every trip!

Dumbo is his all-time favorite.

Too bad Earl of Sandwich was so busy, but your food from Wolfgang Pucks looked really yummy. I have never been there. Someday.

You really ought to try to hit WPE.

Great timing for you to get the text about your room on your way back. Looks like a decent home base, and I spied a few towel animals and even the TP was decorated! Nice!

It worked out perfect; I brought the small towel animal home with me. He is now sitting in my powder room.

How many floors in your building? Were you at the top?

We were the top building...only three floors (and I think this is true of all the villages.

You don't mess around with your ADRs!!! BOG on arrival day! What a beautiful restaurant. Disney really got that one right.

The only day I could get it. It is stunning, and Disney could not have done a better job.

Your move of getting Buzz FP and riding Peoplemover while you wait is very familiar. We do that a lot of the time as we are heading out of the park. You got some really nice night pictures from the TTA.

It's usually not so crowded at that time and works well; thank you.

Those are some crazy hats in Tomorrowland.

I think there was one or two crazier ones later in the trip.

Finally, Congrats on your great score on Buzz!

First time ever that I beat him...I didn't let him forget it either.

EPCOT, tomorrow?

Next update will give you your answer.

ETA- Just skimmed a couple of replies. Sending positive energy for your brother.

Thank you.

Such a fun evening in Magic Kingdom. :earsboy: :earsgirl:
And there are those who say Disney World is just for little kids. :sad2:

Those people have no idea what they are talking about; Disney is what keeps us young.

Of the two plates, I think I am liking Mark's. It looks delicious!

He was very happy with it (and our oldest, Andy, had it in December and he really liked it when he had it)

This is such a pretty area - by day and by night.

I agree; but the whole resort is just beautiful.

Kathy we are eating there for the first time in 2 weeks and I am going to try the soup since you love it so much. I can't wait to see the inside, as I only saw the outside if the place in my solo trip back in May.

Oooh...I hope you like it. I really like the soup. You will be floored by the inside (be sure to visit ALL of the rooms after your meal...and they encourage you to do so).

ohh those hat pictures!!!!
I just can't believe how FUNNY they really are!!! I LOVE the pictures of you guys with the gargoyles! :rotfl2:

Mark finds the best hats most of the times; thanks...I love gargoyles...as long as they aren't in front of my house.

I am MOST excited to try that dang SOUP!!!! you have me SO SO SO EXCITED for it!!!

I love it and would order it again.

What a great first day! I'm dying to eat at BoG...it's so nice to have somewhere new to go, isn't it? Plus the food looks pretty yummy.

Thanks, Nory. I wish Disney would get rid of the some of the duds (Hollywood & Vine for example) and open a few new restaurants. And we thought the food was very good.

I'm on the fence about booking an ADR at Be Our Guest. Just not too sure if we'd enjoy the food or not. But, Mark's pork chop looks really good.

Lisa, I had the steak in December and although it was not the quality of Yachtsman, it was pretty darn good.

Ya'll really packed a lot of stuff in your first day. Way to hang in there woman!

Thanks. :)

I do know whatcha mean

I knew you would.

Wait...you'll be there in December too...we are there 3-6th (tagging along on the Grannie trip...):cloud9:

Oh my...there are so many DISers going to be there. I hope we all meet.

And HOLY MEGA MULTI-QUOTE BATMAN!!!!!!!!!!!! Impressive!

Sometimes I try to keep it to a few to be more personal, but I really needed to get them done so I could update too.

Woohoo for hat pics, and you kicked Mark's butt on Buzz :woohoo:

The poor guy got sick of listening to me say I wooped his butt! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Whew! What a fun, full arrival day!

It really was.

Loved the antlers! Made me giggle!!

I was waiting for Mark to say he wanted to go hunting.

BOG sounds fantastic and I'm glad you had another great experience there! The food looks delicious and the restaurant itself is beautiful!

Disney outdid themselves with this restaurant.

I really liked the pictures of Magic Kingdom and the Castle at night from the Wed Way! Very pretty!

Thank you.

Congrats on the higher score on Buzz!! Woohoo!

All I can say is it's about darn time. :lmao:

You had a great start to your trip, for sure!!

We sure did.

Glad that BoG was good again. I'm happy you shared photos of the pork chop, I almost got that in July.

I'll be interested to see what you had and what you thought of it.

Excellent hat photos as usual :goodvibes Sounds like a nice arrival day!

Thank you, Shannon.

Okay, the DIS is giving me fits...don't know if it's the DIS or my office computer. I'll finish replies tonight and start Day 1.

Some random thoughts..... :coffee:

This ought to be interesting. :rotfl2:

You drove to DTD???? Why didnt you take the boat?

The boats were not running at that time (and SPOILER ALERT later in the trip) due to the high water from all the rain.

WHAT?!?!?! NO EOS at DTD???? :faint:

It was a little disappointing. But we may or may not have made it another day.

Tell Mark if he stops the hat pics I'm gone. :p

That will keep him doing it. :rolleyes1

You should be happy you got that 3rd floor room. Now you can tell everyone you were exercising while at WDW!!! :lmao::lmao:

Where were you when I started this???? :rotfl:

Be Our Guest... still trying to get an ADR there... It just isn't happening for us. :furious:

Keep trying. TarzansKat was able to snag one the other day; and there were two or three dates available a week before we got there the week we were there.

You sure had a busy arrival day. I can't wait to see whats in store for day 2. :goodvibes

Day 2 coming up.

No... nobody who hangs out around the Disboards has figured it out yet... :rolleyes1

I'm so glad you are here....I think.

Lucky... I can't wait to try dinner there.

We really like it.

Now that is an interesting dining review. :rotfl2::lmao:

It's hard to explain I'm not a "sauce" on my meat person. I want to enjoy the meat. Here is the description from this site:Pan-seared and simmered in a rustic blend of Heirloom Tomatoes, Olives, White Wine, and fresh Herbs with Seasonal Vegetables and Roasted Fingerling Potatoes. Maybe it's the olives and the tomatos mixed in with the herbs sauce...I don't know. I'd like it better if it was just the chicken.

:thumbsup2

It was nice of them; but after three times I still don't like it.

I could use one of those right about now.

One of the best cupcakes I have ever had.

Always a nice leisurely way to enjoy an evening in MK.

And people watch.

Holy crap!!!! :scared1:

Are you sure you didn't do some creative editing when you posted those pictures? :rolleyes1

I most certainly did not. I am  you even thought it.

Because who needs milk with their cereal? :confused3:rotfl:

Not me; the only time I eat cereal (which is Frosted Flakes by the way), I eat them dry.

finally caught up!

:yay::yay::yay: glad you are caught up.

bummer about not eating at EoS, hope you fit it in later in the trip! your lunch does look good though!

It was a good lunch and just what we needed.

can't wait to eat at BOG, got dinner ADR and will try lunch too!

We wont' get there for lunch in December, but hopefully Mary and the girls and I can try in June or we will try with Mark and Alisha.

:woohoo: on beating Mark on Buzz finally! you both did great on your scores!

Thank you; but my score was MUCH better. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

love al the hat photos, Mark never disappoints :goodvibes

He tries not to.

yikes on no elevator, I don't mind taking stairs, but elevators are great for the move in/out days!

I think we could have used them more during the trip. ;)

continued prayers for your brother!

Thank you, Lisa.

looking forward to the report, you got through that first day really fast, i guess you do want to finish this report before your next trip.:thumbsup2

Well, yes, although I do have 82 days. But I want to have time for the PTR, and with the holidays coming up, I know I'll get busy (and we are going to see Barry (FreezinRafiki) and his family this weekend, we have the newlyweds coming in a couple of weeks and then we go to Dubuque the first weekend of October).

the french onion soup did look really good, i need to make some of that soon, sounds really good.

Do you have a good receipe? Would you send it to me?

Oh my gosh the antler picture! :rotfl: :rotfl2: I think I giggle snorted on that one. The Yoda one was awesome too.

I laugh all the time when he tries on hats. He is such a kid.

I'd skip the chicken or ask them to keep the sauce off; I really liked my steak in December.

I think Buzz might be one of the first rides I drag Jim on. I've been studying up on where the high targets are so I can beat him! That will make him mad because we are very competitive with each other (in a friendly way of course). :lmao:

Oooh...you must send me those high targets so I can beat Mark again.

We are there for your dates!!
Planning to hook up with Brenda as well so we should all get together :)

Linda, this is so exciting. Unfortunately, I couldn't work out a meal with Brenda, but we are definitely looking at each others schedules and doing drinks or something.

Saturday, August 17 (Part 1)

I was up at 6:30 and showered. Mark had a bowl of cereal and I had an Entemann's chocolate donut (I was really bad on vacation) after he showered. We went and got in the car and parked here:

So we could go here:

Mark felt a picture was needed of me going through bag check:

We followed the crowd to TSM to get fastpasses. This was the return time already:

Fastpasses in hand we headed to my favorite ride. I took a couple pictures along the way:

And we were here:

While I was going to do Tower of Terror, Mark walked over to Rock and Roll Roller Coaster. I had the camera, so I took the pictures of my ride:

Redneck photo:

After my ride and getting a cappuccino, I walked over to meet Mark:

Unfortunately, there was an hour wait and the single rider line was not yet open for some reason so he never got to ride. :(

We decided to walk to Star Tours. We walked through the evil shop (don't know the name of it) and I took a few pictures:

(Obviously someone was fascinated with the sword)

A picture of the hat with very few people in front of it:

As we were walking, we saw some friends so decided to stop and have a photo shoot with these movie stars (photopass pictures will come later):

Up next, Star Tours and more attractions.
