What Time is the 4 o'clock Rain? -- Updates 11/2-4 -- Tim's surprise and Marco&Recap

i'm also in agreement with this!
So many people leave the Dis because of NASTY people... I have come across more then i like to admit. yet there are people like YOU who make it the best.

Thank you, Mo. :flower3:

Regardless if your legendary. The hat pictures ARE. i am in my office no one around and giggling A LOT from the hat pictures.. Ok more like a belly laugh... :lmao:

Yes, the hat pictures are definitely legendary. I belly laugh myself over them.

:scared:Third floor...that would never work for us. I always request ground floor. With the arthritis in my knee and back and Andy's heart, we avoid stairs. Seeing the castle always makes me tear up a little. Can't wait to see the Christmas decorations.

I wasn't sure Mark could handle it, but he just took his time. I can't wait to see the Christmas decorations again myself.

Hi Kathy, ( and Mark of course ) I just crawled in and see you have 12 pages already :faint: How will I ever catch up ?? My own report is on the back burner it's terrific to live near WDW but its never a true vacation working and still taking care of everything at home  I will do my best to get to the reading, I AM really looking forward to your report I know we never planned a Dismeet but maybe next time you're down this way

You seemed to have managed to catch up (I saw your next post). We will have to plan a DIS meet one of these trips.

Thanks for the BD wishes for me & for Fantasia ! and for the PM and a reminder heads up I send my prayers to your little cookie

Thanks for the prayers for Cookie.

Yay arrival day! :cool1: Sorry you had to miss Earl of Sandwich, but WPE is a good 2nd choice, love it there! :thumbsup2 Your room at OKW looks nice, but ugh, 3rd floor and no elevators??? :crazy2:

WPE is definitely a good alternative. Yep, no elevators. I think OKW and CBR are the only ones without them.

Thankfully for me your thread was quiet for a little bit so I could catch up :) I got in from work at 8:30 fed 7 dogs & a horse, trimmed 140 dog nails and read your report Are you impressed ??? :rotfl: I am ready to drop but I wanted to get my priorities in order :)

Ruthie, so glad you have your priorities in order. :lmao::lmao: And I am VERY impressed.

OKW is such a pretty resort, its the first DVC isn't it ? I just can't imagine 3rd floor and no elevator..on vacation....no way :sad2: I doubt I could do it

It's a beautiful resort...love the colors and the theme.

I always take the car when staying on property to MK usually because I stay at POP and at the entrance its the LAST bus stop ( not bad when getting there but that long walk/ crawl at the end of the day oh brother) so 3 flights when getting " home " no I am spoiled

The buses are great at OKW, but nothing like just hopping in the car.

I'm enjoying all your descriptions so far, the rest of the Dissers comments, and of course your pictures

Thanks, Ruthie.

I also include your brother and his health issues in my prayers Kat

Thank you for the prayers for my brother...he needs them.

Your pictures of DTD have me really excited for my October trip. I haven't spent much time there the last two trips but will have almost a whole day in October!

I am so happy you have a whole day planned at DTD. It's a great alternative to the parks for a little different pace.

Yay for hat pictures! I'm seriously considering making Jim do a few in October in tribute to Mark!

The question is will Jim do it? ;)

I just placed a Garden Grocer order for October. Do you have to call Bell Services when you get to your room to get it delivered or do they automatically bring it to your room?

We called to have it delievered once we got our room; they were there in less than five minutes.

Love those first pictures of the castle!

Me too!

:thumbsup2

:thumbsup2

You are very sweet; thank you.

When we went to Universal we actually did a movie because we were frightened by the storm approaching..Florida rain no bueno sometimes

That had been, up to that time, the nastiest storm I had ever seen. I would have preferred a movie myself.

LOVING the pics Kathy! My favorite store in DTD is the Christmas Shoppe...I guess I am so holiday sentimental :cool2:

I am a Christmas sentimental myself...love to decorate for Christmas, even without having the kids at home now (well, Andy is still there, but you kow what I mean).

I was excited to see your photos of OKW as we are hoping to stay there next June - just got to wait for our 7 month booking window to open

Oooh...I hope you get to stay there; we love it at OKW.

Count me in as another fan of WPE - I love the pizza in there :)

I liked my flatbread, and our oldest son loves the pizza breakfast.

Ooh, you asked me when we are going out to WDW again - we will be there the beginning of December and I simply can't wait (yeah I know - I've got to!) I haven't got a PTR as I am a lazy bones ;)

What are your dates? We will be there December 3 and leave very early on the 8th; and I know Brenda will be there part of that time too. A DIS meet?

We had just arrived at the MK, gotten a photopass picture taken, looked in a few windows and headed over to our dining destination. It was too early to check in, so we stopped in a shop first. Mark had to try on these:

I found something for Des (Andy's girlfriend) in the shop as her souvenir gift, and made a note of it so I'd come back and get it later in the trip.

We then went to check in for our dinner. We were dining here:

Have you guessed where here is yet?

If not, here you go:

This was my third time eating here since they opened in December and Mark's second. We were very excited to be dining here once again.

The menu:

Our rose napkin:

We were in the main ballroom this time (the first time Mark was there we were in the West Wing; I sat in the main ballroom with Mary and the girls in June):

We ordered our food, and then our bread was brought out:

I ordered the french onion soup for the third time because to me it is just that good:

The rest of our food:

Mark had the pork chop and absolutely loved his meal:

I had the new chicken dish. I haven't decided exactly what the sauce on it tastes like. I'm not crazy about it. But if I scrape most of it off, the food is really good:

Because we were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary, we got the Grey Stuff:

Then they came around with the display of my favorite thing...the desserts:

I had the chocolate again...I just love this:

I don't recall which one Mark had:

We both enjoyed our meal immensely. The only thing that wasn't good during the meal was the service. We had a very sweet waitress, but she was extremely slow. While I was waiting for the bill, Mark went to take a couple of pictures:

Once we got the bill settled, it was off to see The Master:

A few pictures before we left:

I think I'm at my picture capacity and I need to catch a train, so I'll finish up arrival day once I'm home and we've had dinner.

Up next, which attractions do we hit before calling it a night?

Hey Kathy! :wave2: I popped over to see your pics from OKW, as we've rented points to stay there for my birthday in a few months (around New Year's). CSR was more than I was willing to pay over a holiday. Were the pics you posted from a Studio? (That's what we're getting.) We've never stayed there and I know you've been there several times. What area would you recommend I request? I know we don't have the HH area. We'll have our car, but we usually like to take the Disney buses. It'll be too cold for us cold-blooded Floridians to swim :rotfl:, so I don't care if we're close to a pool or not. What's your favorite?

Thanks! :thumbsup2

Claire, good to see you. It's been much too long.

Yes, we had a studio. Plenty of room for four people.

I've been at Turtle Pond once, Miller Road twice and Hospitaluty House twice. My favorite was Turtle Pond and we had a 30 second walk to our bus stop. Both times we were in Miller Road area, it was about a five minute walk to Hospitality House and the bus stop was right outside our door practically. I've enjoyed them all but have a fondness for Turtle Pond.

Loved the update Kathy!

Oh gosh - I wish I would have known about the french onion soup before we went, I would have loved to try it. Next time - it's going on the list.

We did not try any of the dishes that you and Mark had... Although, I had to squint really hard to see the port on his pork chop - LOL... I am glad it was good and he liked it.

I haven't heard the greatest reviews on the chicken - so we stayed away from it.

I just have to say that I love your outfit too... You look so adorable and COOL!

Hmmmm... So, what ride did you ride?

D~

I didn't realize your had already eaten at BOG twice before. Wow - good for you for scoring those impossible ADRs.

That french onion soup looks SO relish! I don't even like pork chops, but that meal looks really good.

Cute picture of Mark outside with the gargoyle. Love it!

Sounds like a fun evening and the grey stuff looks really good. Do they serve that at lunch?

Thanks! :cheer2: I do check in on your trip reports from time to time to see what you're up to, I just don't take time to post. I enjoyed reading about your surprise trip for Mark for his birthday last year. I'm turning the Big 4-0 with Mickey on January 2. :dance3:

It is so hard to tell from the map of OKW how far apart things are, so thanks for the info. Turtle Pond does look like a good location. Knowing you've been in a Studio and can tell me there's plenty of room for 4 of us helps tremendously!

We're going to BOG on our last night and I'm definitely getting some of that French onion soup and maybe that pork chop!

The pictures of be our guest are great...we are eating there our last night Dec.6 and I can't wait. Do you have to ask for the gray stuff? It will be grandson Cody's 13th birthday. Do you get to meet the beast on the way out or where?

Btw...sorry to hear of your brother's health issues...hopefully they will find a heart for him. Did he and your mom get their housing problem solved?

:rotfl: 1st picture ??? Is that ANTLERS on Marks head ???:rotfl: lucky it wasn't hunting season in FL !!

We/I have never had dinner at BOG, scored Christmas night ( unless working, too soon to tell ) I am definitely having what Mark had looks delicious ! I have been fortunate to have many lunches there All the cupcakes are great but I find myself fighting with that paper around it all the time, Is it just me ? Kathy do you choose where you sit for dinner, like lunch, or do they seat you and its luck?

see I'm keeping up :thumbsup2

Love the pics of Be our Guest restaurant. Totally shouted at the computer OH NOS all the petals fell off he'll be doomed to remain a beast forever.

After our dinner at Be Our Guest, we decided we were up for an attraction or two before we headed back to the resort after our long day.

We headed to Tomorrowland where there was a 45-minute wait for Buzz Lightyear, yet the fastpasses were good in the next 30 minutes. No brainer there! Fastpasses in hand, we went shopping where we tried on a hat (or two or three or four):

We looked around a little bit and noted some things we might be interested in picking up for Christmas gifts. After that, we headed to the People Mover and took a relaxing ride.

It was time to use our Buzz fastpasses. And the impossible happened: I FINALLY BEAT MARK! In fact, I kicked his butt. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

My score:

Mark's score:

At this point, we realized we were exhausted. So we made our way towards Main Street and the monorail to get back to the TTC and the tram to our car. A few pictures on the way:

Once we were back to the resort, we stopped at the store and got some milk (the one thing I had forgotten to order from Garden Grocer for Mark's cereal).

We were back in our room right around 9:30 and set out our clothes for the next morning and headed to bed. It was a great arrival day and we couldn't wait to see what our first full day at the parks would bring.

Up next: where do we head to first on Saturday morning?

Yaaaaay for getting in your room before 8:30 at night.

Y'all didn't waste any time going to the parks!! :thumbsup2 Love seeing your handsome, hat wearing, hubby in his normal attire. :goodvibes Especially the antlers, don't you just love that new shop?!? It's so pretty in there, even if you don't buy anything, it's really pretty Beauty and The Beast merchandise. :lovestruc

So glad you loved your dinner at BOG, I'm always happy to hear people like their dining experiences. What did you think of the grey stuff?!? :)

I'm signing on, really enjoying it so far. :thumbsup2

Congratulations on 30 years of marriage! :lovestruc We also celebrated our 30th at Disney last year. :goodvibes

I am like you - I end up packing a lot in arrival day. Just can't help myself. :rotfl2:

As the next update showed we did pretty well on the text this trip. 30 minutes from Disney? How did that happen without checking in?

I did online check-in and as I am driving down I-4 I get a text saying my room is ready. Go figure. :confused3

What a great arrival day- Can't wait to see what is in store for your first full day. :goodvibes

You looked fabulous for your BoG meal! Em had the chicken too and thought it was ok. I tasted it and didn't like it. I thought it had oregano in it?? Not sure but ick. Hmmmm.. you like that French onion soup huh? Mine had no flavor.... maybe it was an off night. :confused3

Love the assortment of hats that Mark is sporting!

And you have to have your People mover shot of your feet up - it's a MUST do! What a great night! :)

Caught up on your first day- thanks for the links!!!

Pretty great, but busy, arrival day!

Love your picture of the welcome arch. No matter how many times you travel under that, it is always special!

That is great that you get a picture of Mark with Dumbo every trip!

Too bad Earl of Sandwich was so busy, but your food from Wolfgang Pucks looked really yummy. I have never been there. Someday.

Great timing for you to get the text about your room on your way back. Looks like a decent home base, and I spied a few towel animals and even the TP was decorated! Nice!

How many floors in your building? Were you at the top?

You don't mess around with your ADRs!!! BOG on arrival day! What a beautiful restaurant. Disney really got that one right.

Your move of getting Buzz FP and riding Peoplemover while you wait is very familiar. We do that a lot of the time as we are heading out of the park. You got some really nice night pictures from the TTA.

Those are some crazy hats in Tomorrowland.

Finally, Congrats on your great score on Buzz!

EPCOT, tomorrow?

ETA- Just skimmed a couple of replies. Sending positive energy for your brother.

Such a fun evening in Magic Kingdom. :earsboy: :earsgirl:
And there are those who say Disney World is just for little kids. :sad2:

Of the two plates, I think I am liking Mark's. It looks delicious!

This is such a pretty area - by day and by night.
