Third floor...that would never work for us. I always request ground floor. With the arthritis in my knee and back and Andy's heart, we avoid stairs. Seeing the castle always makes me tear up a little. Can't wait to see the Christmas decorations.
How will I ever catch up ?? My own report is on the back burner it's terrific to live near WDW but its never a true vacation working and still taking care of everything at home I will do my best to get to the reading, I AM really looking forward to your report I know we never planned a Dismeet but maybe next time you're down this way
I got in from work at 8:30 fed 7 dogs & a horse, trimmed 140 dog nails and read your report Are you impressed ??? I am ready to drop but I wanted to get my priorities in order I doubt I could do it

When we went to Universal we actually did a movie because we were frightened by the storm approaching..Florida rain no bueno sometimesOh....so happy you are here.No worries on the PTR...I kind of rushed through the end of it.
Blues Brothers were always a favorite of ours.
The rain was unbelievable at times.
It always comes down to that when you have to go Downtown and eat, doesn't it? Yup we wanted to eat at Earl of Sandwich NOPE! Lines too long.
Sometimes you can tell that the line will move quickly, but it wasn't that day.
I do love WPE though. I'm never disappointed when we eat there.

I almost hate to say it but OKW was the one place I got a text while still on I-4 about 30 minutes away from Disney.
As the next update showed we did pretty well on the text this trip. 30 minutes from Disney? How did that happen without checking in?

When nothing else on the menu catches my eye, I can always rely on chicken strips or tenders (our daughter-in-law lives on the darn things!).
When we stayed there, we were in building 14 and it was a great location! But I think you said once upon a time that you like the Turtle Pond area so I'm guessing you requested a room in that area...

Everything was going about as smoothly as it could.
Sorry your airport doesn't have a Starbucks, I thought it was like airport law or something that you have to have a Starbucks in order to be thought of as a real airport.
And why I don't consider Midway a real airport (O'Hare has several of them...trust me, I know where every one of them is too).
So nice to have a car, I learned that with Ms. Jill. It's so nice to be in a car and not waiting on the bus. Although, I'm very grateful for being able to use the buses on property, especially when we can't fit in the cost of a rental car.
It really is nice to have a car, especially if we want to "go off property" or drive to an ADR.
I sure hope they send you a text this time!!

Great updates! Loved the Christmas shop photos. I really wanted some of the hat ornaments, but could you believe how $$$$ they are?!
I about passed out when I saw the price of those hat ornaments.
Earl of Sandwich is our go-to place at DTD, too. Always sad when the line is too long. Though your meal from WPE didn't look too bad.
I was disappointed we didn't get to EOS, but WPE was very good.

Yay for a room near the hospitality house. 3rd floor? Yikes! Every time I think about carrying luggage up multiple flights I think of the cardiac stress test. That is now my marker of a good trip - if you can get the luggage up the steps, everything will be all right!

I thought about renewing for the discount, but it wouldn't cover next year's October trip, so my best value is going to be getting a new one in December. I hope my budget allows me to take the four trips I want to with it.
That makes sense. Since ours expire on the 14th of this month and we are going in December, possibly a day in April, I'm going May/June with the girls and then Mark and I are going with Mark and Alisha late August/early September, it worked for us to get the discount. I hope you can manage all four of your trips; just wish one of ours would coincide.
As for summer, we are waiting for my school district to vote on next year's calendar. This is supposedly going to be done this week. We are hoping to go in mid to late July.
That is past the time we will be there.

Yikes! 3rd floor with out an elevator... I am not sure I could do that? Getting the luggage up wouldn't be an issue... However, getting my rear up after a long day in the parks, very well could be. I sure hope you all made it back to your room every night.
Let's just say there were nights we weren't sure who was going to push who up the stairs.
We haven't ever spent time at OKW, but we always mangage to drop off at OKW on our way to FQ for ME... And every time we do, Alli drools - I have a feeling that is where she will want to stay for her graduation trip...
I think Alli would love it; you'll have to rent points (I'm telling you it is usually cheaper than a moderate if you deal with the right person).

All caught up! Looks like you had a nice, smooth arrival day. The room location on the third floor isn't optimal but it is good that you had GG to bring up your heavy stuff for you. We ordered from them when we stayed at AKL and it was fantastic.
Krysten, it was a good start to the trip. Loved using GG and we will do so again.
I love how Mark is such a good sport about taking his hat pictures for the TR readers - the reports just wouldn't be the same without those pictures!

I go to Disney for a couple days and this thread is at page 11! I was really happy to get to finally meet up with you and have that slush. Even with the rain and insane heat and humidity thrust upon it!

Love WPE! Had it Thursday night. Their Mac and Cheese is to die for. But your chicken tenders look awesome. I'm going to have to remember to try that next time.
