What Time is the 4 o'clock Rain? -- Updates 11/2-4 -- Tim's surprise and Marco&Recap

Well, then I just about :faint:

It was closed. I just broke down in tears and there was no consoling me. This was my dad's all-time favorite ride at Disney World and I wanted to ride it on the anniversary of our losing him. I was crushed that I had been such a bad DISer and didn't know they were shutting it down for a week for refurb. Mark tried to calm me down, but I was having none of it. I kept apologizing to my dad over and over again.

:sad1: I'm sorry you missed out on this one. As Camille said, I'm sure your father would not be bothered in the least. Sometimes things are just out of your control.

After the photo op, Mark asked where I wanted to go to next (he knew I was still upset), so I suggested we go see my favorite purple dragon and so that is where we went:

I thought you wanted to cheer up? :confused3

Ok, I'm kidding, but you knew I couldn't resist, right? :rotfl:

GO BLACKHAWKS!!!! :rotfl2:

:sad2:

I think my hockey season is already over.

Mark knew that I was still upset so he said he knew just the thing to cheer me up.

The moose hat didn't work? That would work on me.

We had to wait to see them for a bit as Pooh needed honey just as it was our turn. My husband told them that I was feeling down and that I'd not gotten a good picture of me with my favorite, Tigger, when we were at the Crystal Palace earlier in the week for breakfast.

Bonus points for Mark. Good man. :thumbsup2

After 30 years together, I guess my husband knows what will cheer me up in a heartbeat. BEST HUSBAND EVER!

:goodvibes

Love your kiss picture!

Lunch at the plaza looked good too!

That balloon in honor of your dad was really touching - he obviously guided you to the right family so you found a person who appreciated it!

Sorry SE didn't stay open for you. But :worship:to Mark for knowing how to cheer you up! See the benefits of being married for a nice long time? That's love, my friend, that's love!

Based on the pace of his "current" TR, 3 months might be a bit optimistic. :rotfl2::lmao:
Hey, I've been on a roll. I'm kinda mad I won't be done before I leave on Wednesday. I'd write on the plane but I foresee a sleeping baby in my arms for 2 1/2 hours. :faint:

This just in.... not only is Kathy the best DISer evah but she is the nicest person evah!!!!!!! She just sprinkled us with some pixie dust for our trip next week... THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!

Way to leave them all hanging wondering what it was. :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

It's okay; I don't think you posted on my TR since I started it, and I know you like to read about my Dad tribute. TR should be done in a couple of weeks...with luck sooner.

Only once before the last time...but I think with our emails I THOUGHT I had. :lmao: Trying to sign in more, rather than write all of the comments in my head, THINKING I said them. :lmao:

I DO love to read about your tribute, it is so touching and kind. :goodvibes

A TR written in a few months..I wouldn't know ANYTHING about that! :sad2:

Sorry that spaceship earth was closed but glad Mark and Tigger could make you happy:) I'm sure that will be your first ride in Epcot next trip and you can tell your dad you are thinking of him

Thanks, Judy. I know it was silly to get so upset, but I think the fact that it was the actual date that my Dad had passed is what got to me. You can be sure I'll be on it a couple of times in December.

I am so sorry you had such a rough day. I do understand how it's the little disappointments that turns into complete life mishaps when you are missing someone dear to you. This is one of the reason why I HATE June. So glad that Tigger turned your day around. Just gotta love that striped T-I-doudle-grrr!

Thanks, Tam. Tigger certainly helped put a smile back on my face.

I am a long time lurker and you have had me in tears twice! I have an older fur baby who I worry every day about and I am so sorry about Cookie. Then you wrote about your father and that really did it. I have enjoyed your trip report so much and thank you for bringing joy to everyone who lives vicariously through you while waiting for their own Disney trip. You and your husband are so adorable together and I applaud you on 30 years! pixiedust:
Thanks for sharing!

:welcome: and thank you for coming out of lurkdom. I promise we don't bite (well, I can't say that for some of the "guys" on here :lmao::lmao::lmao:).

Seriously, I thank you for posting. I hope your fur baby has many years left with you.

Your sweet words meant a lot...thank you!

sorry you weren't able to ride spaceship earth  Mark is such a sweet man to find the perfect thing to cheer you up! love all the PP photos!

I knew there was a reason I've kept him around for 30+ years...the man knows me well and knows just what I need.

OK, I have been reading like crazy to try and catch up, then I see you have started a PTR :upsidedow that I haven't EVEN looked at, but when I read this post I had to stop.

No worries...we aren't very far on the PTR yet.

This made me cry. I bet your dad is smiling knowing that you honor him in this way. What a very special way to carry on the memory of your dad.

Thank you, Dana. :goodvibes

So sorry you had a disappointing afternoon. Thank goodness Tigger was there to cheer you up!
Tiggers are good for being bouncy, trouncy, flouncy...... fun fun fun fun fun!

Tiggers sure are fun. :)

You had some fun little meet and greets along the way.

Yes we did.

I love the O Canada! movie. Though it is getting a little tired-and Martin Short is a little outdated.

And the Martin Short version hasn't been there that long...maybe 6 years or so? He wasn't in the original I know.

Hi, Ms. Kat. :wave2:

Hi, Camille.

So sorry it's been a while since I've been over here. :guilty:

No worries...you have your hands full with your mom. How is she doing?

I love catching up on your TR, it's so good to see you and Mr. Mark having such a good time together.

Thank you.

You had me in some tears with your story about giving your dad's balloon to that family, I think your dad was making that memory extra special so when you were down about Space Ship Earth you could look back on the balloon memory with a smile. I seriously doubt your dad would be upset with you for not riding. :sad2: Thank goodness you had your handsome, hat wearing hubby to the rescue!! pirate: :goodvibes

Thanks; I know Dad wouldn't be upset; like I said up above I think it was the fact that it was the actual date that I lost him. But I have the bestest husband in the world.

I'm glad to see y'all having such a wonderful trip, I can't wait to see pictures of your surprise, as well as with Nikki and Todd coming up!! :thumbsup2

Thanks; there won't be pictures of the "actual" surprise, but more fun coming up.

Finally caught up. Love the way you honor your dad.

Jill in CO

Thank you, Jill.

All caught up now! Loved your most recent updates!

Thanks, Toni-Marie.

You had a great morning during EMH and got to see and do so much!

I love EMH's in the a.m.--we get so much done.

That photopass picture with the fireworks...wow! What a perfect magical moment! :goodvibes That's really unfortunate you lost the rest of the pictures, though. We ended up losing a few and getting two different families' pictures on our's as well. It's a dissappointment, for sure! There needs to be some kind of solution to this! Hopefully one happens soon!

He was an awesome photographer and we really enjoyed our time with them. I was very sad when I couldn't find the pictures, but at least I do have that one. Yes, they certainly need to do something.

We've never eaten there, but the Plaza looks like a really great place for lunch...and ice cream! Yum!

I think for the last seven or eight years now it has been our last meal of the trip.

And Kathy, I just love how you honor your dad with getting a balloon for a child before leaving the park. It brought tears to my eyes while reading and it's such a perfect way to remember him while bringing a smile to a child and family as well. It really warmed my heart to read about it and I'm sure it did for the family you chose as well!

Thank you so much for the nice words. :flower3:

ETA: And somehow in my attempts to catch up I missed your very last two posts in Epcot! :-(

I kind of snuck those in there on the fly yesterday.

I'm so sorry Spaceship Earth was closed for you, Kathy :-(

I was too; but I'll be on it soon.

But, it's good to see the ever lovable Pooh and Tigger could help cheer you up some!

They sure did.

As always I love your Photopass pictures!! You two are just so sweet!

Thank you again.

Okay, I think I'm caught up for real now! :-)

You are all caught up; and I promise no update until Monday...we've got a pretty busy weekend.

I'm so sorry that SE was closed. :sad2: I know that was so disappointing!

Yes, I remember we saw you and Em not too long after that and I was so upset about it.

Awwwww but you got a lot of Tigger love Kathy! The dancing was a perfect way to cheer you up since you had a great smile on your face!

It certainly was. :goodvibes

I actually do have a photo of our meet up near France. Honestly, it's not like I tried to become a part of your travel party, it just worked out that way. ;) (And I'm glad that it did!!)

Trust me, Mark and I are glad too. We were talking last night and we both said that if our dates cross in August, we hope we can spend part of the day having a meal together and touring the park together.

I know Mark took one on my phone or camera and for the life of me I don't know where it went. :scratchin

I loved seeing all the lovey dovey photos of you and Mark. :flower3:

Thank you.

So sorry that SSE was closed... That is so sad. But it looks like Tigger & Pooh made up for it a little bit... it looked like a really fun meet n' greet!

Thanks, D. It was sad, but Tigger and Pooh made me feel much better.

I cannot believe how many times you met up with Brenda and Em... LOL!

D~

It was truly becoming comical after awhile. We'd just all start laughing that it happened again. But I wouldn't have changed it for the world. They are great gals.

I'm sorry that SSE didn't work out for you, but I'm sure your dad would understand. You certainly tried, there's no denying that.

Thanks, Andy.

I'm glad that Mark knew what you needed to cheer you up and Tigger seemed to certainly be in a playful mood and ready to help! :thumbsup2

They sure were, and they succeeded.

Based on the pace of his "current" TR, 3 months might be a bit optimistic. :rotfl2::lmao:

:lmao::lmao::lmao: You've got a point there.

Hi Kathy! I was a few pages behind - love the castle pics if I didn't say so before! You have a lot of fun MK traditions. Your balloon story made me cry. What a sweet way to remember your dad, and so nice that the family you chose could appreciate it and honor him with you. I meant to get all the kids a balloon when we were there, and somehow we just seemed to be rained out every afternoon so it just didn't happen.

Thank you, Tammy. My dad was truly my best friend and it brings a smile to my face (well after a few tears) that I could do this for another child.

I'm sorry SE was closed and that it was so upsetting. So sweet of Mark to find a way to cheer you up. Love your dance with Tigger!

Thank you; Mark always knows how to make me smile or laugh again.

This just in.... not only is Kathy the best DISer evah but she is the nicest person evah!!!!!!! She just sprinkled us with some pixie dust for our trip next week... THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!

I'm dying to know!!!! What? How? Did she and Mark send a collection of silly hats for you to wear??

And I see Kathy is just sitting back laughing. It's easy to laugh when you have your little secrets missy!! :lmao:

Edited to add: If Michael doesn't go in June then I'm definitely dragging him along in August. We'll just need to be sure our dates synch.

:sad1: I'm sorry you missed out on this one. As Camille said, I'm sure your father would not be bothered in the least. Sometimes things are just out of your control.

True; but I was not thinking at the time.

I thought you wanted to cheer up? :confused3

HA HA HA

Ok, I'm kidding, but you knew I couldn't resist, right? :rotfl:

Of course I did.

:sad2:

I think my hockey season is already over.

We aren't playing like Champs at the moment. :furious:

The moose hat didn't work? That would work on me.

No; I'm too used to those silly hats by now.

Bonus points for Mark. Good man. :thumbsup2

I got him a nice treat later in the day in Germany too.

Love your kiss picture!

Thank you Sheree; it turned out great.

Lunch at the plaza looked good too!

Have you ever been? If not, I strongly recommend it.

That balloon in honor of your dad was really touching - he obviously guided you to the right family so you found a person who appreciated it!

Thanks for those sweet words.

Sorry SE didn't stay open for you. But :worship:to Mark for knowing how to cheer you up! See the benefits of being married for a nice long time? That's love, my friend, that's love!

Sheree, it truly is "love." :)

Hey, I've been on a roll. I'm kinda mad I won't be done before I leave on Wednesday. I'd write on the plane but I foresee a sleeping baby in my arms for 2 1/2 hours. :faint:

Actually, you have been and I am quite impressed. I just wonder how long we'll have to wait for you to finish it and start the new one when you return? :duck:

Only once before the last time...but I think with our emails I THOUGHT I had. :lmao: Trying to sign in more, rather than write all of the comments in my head, THINKING I said them. :lmao:

Please do not worry about it Judy...I totally understand.

I DO love to read about your tribute, it is so touching and kind. :goodvibes

Thank you.

A TR written in a few months..I wouldn't know ANYTHING about that! :sad2:

There are a few that have been going on for a very long time that I just had to give up...I couldn't keep up with them anymore. Yours is NOT one of them.

Is it another whip? Maybe a mace?

:laughing::laughing: Good one Mark.

What a sweetie. :goodvibes

It really wasn't that big a deal.

I'm dying to know!!!! What? How? Did she and Mark send a collection of silly hats for you to wear??

I'm thinking the kids probably have a small collection of their own.

And I see Kathy is just sitting back laughing. It's easy to laugh when you have your little secrets missy!! :lmao:

I'm sorry...I couldn't help it. But unless Tim gives the okay I can't say what it is.

Edited to add: If Michael doesn't go in June then I'm definitely dragging him along in August. We'll just need to be sure our dates synch.

Brenda, if this is the case, I think you and I are going to need a LOT of cocktails if we put Michael and Mark together. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Is it another whip? Maybe a mace?
The whip came from Liesa.... Kathy just likes to remind people of the 'picture that won't be named' from time to time. :scared:

What a sweetie. :goodvibes
::yes:: Hey Judy!!! Hope everything's been well with you and the family! :goodvibes

I'm dying to know!!!! What? How? Did she and Mark send a collection of silly hats for you to wear??
:lmao::lmao:

I don't do hat pictures. I'll leave that to Mark. pirate:

And I see Kathy is just sitting back laughing. It's easy to laugh when you have your little secrets missy!! :lmao:
Yup. I can see her doing that too.

Actually, you have been and I am quite impressed. I just wonder how long we'll have to wait for you to finish it and start the new one when you return? :duck:
Not planning on writing a TR for this trip. I think I'm hanging up the TRs. :rolleyes1

Kathy, your balloon tradition is amazing and beautiful. I'm sorry you had to miss Spaceship Earth, but I'm sure your dad understands.

I was a bit behind...

I almost got that Dumbo T-shirt, too, and now I really wish I had!

That PP pic with the fireworks is awesome!

I'm so glad some quality time with Tigger cheered you up -- how could it not, right? :)

Wow, I can't keep up!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOVE the kissing photo, incredibly sweet and you really need that Dumbo tee, it is adorable. I teared up over your balloon story, what a perfect family you chose. I am so sorry that SE was closed but so glad Tigger danced with you and Mark facilitated that. What a great DH!
