What Time is the 4 o'clock Rain? -- Updates 11/2-4 -- Tim's surprise and Marco&Recap

Be Our Guest!

The french onion soup is really yummy there. I was tossed up between ordering the steak or the pork chop. I went with the steak, and ending up wanting the pork chop after I tasted someone else's!

The grey stuff is my entire reason for wanting to eat there again.

What a better way to spend time after a meal than on the Peoplemover. Excellent choice! :thumbsup2

Good job winning on Buzz!!!!!!! :dance3:

That's strange that the single rider wasn't open at RnRC. How bizarre.

Tigger tattoo!!!!!!

180 minutes?! The only time I saw it like that was over New Year's a few years ago. Insane!

I find the picnic burger at Sci Fi fascinating, but I just can't bite the bullet to order it.

How nice that the server removed the meal from the bill! Sometimes I guess it makes a difference to say something.

I honestly have not done the Animation Academy in so long. Gotta go on the list.

I have a good friend that actually makes scotch eggs.

Scallops are incredible! Especially when they're made correctly. Just amazing. I probably would've eaten three plates too if given the opportunity.

I have a confession: I'm not much into seafood at all, except for MD crabs! I don't hate fish, scallops, shrimp, etc, I just don't love it and since there is always things on menus that I enjoy more I just don't get it. However, the scallops and fish on those dishes do look very tasty! And the Scotch Egg looks very interesting to me too. I'm sure I will try Rose & Crown someday, it's just not high on my list due to the seafood menu.

Sorry you guys had so much rain on your trip, but at least the monsoon waited until you were seated so you weren't soaked before you arrived. And I had a few nights like that too, where I just went back to my room, did a few things then went to bed. The heat, humidity and walking are definitely an adjustment.

Holy Moley I was three updates behind in like a day and a half. :rotfl:

Sorry about Sci- Fi but it got taken off the bill so glad you said something.

You busted through some attractions in Future world before Dinner.

Rose and Crown, still on my list but getting higher every time I hear a great review.

Even with the rain sounds like your day is getting better. :thumbsup2

Luvin the Halloween stuff.

I didn't know they had Scotch eggs in Epcot. I may tell Momma about this. We love Scotch eggs :)

I'm really enjoying your TR! I just love following along with you and Mark - the way your write up your posts it's like I'm walking right along with you. The photo's add to the visualization. You two are a delight to follow.

We've made Scotch Eggs several times over the years. I looked up a recipe for Rose & Crown, and it's just like ours. Make sure the oil is hot, and it will come out great. It's not difficult to make at all. Make sure you scroll down past the review, and you will find the recipe.

Looking forward to reading more~ :surfweb:

I will keep an eye out for you on the December trip. I will be easy enough to spot. I'll be in an ECV from Walker and it will be decked out for the holidays.

Too bad about the pasta at Sci Fi. My friend had that last year and loved it. Maybe it was an off day.

We're doing Rose and Crown for lunch. I ate there a couple of years ago when I was in Disney with my mom and aunt. Not a great trip but the food was fantastic.

Kathy the first thing I ever ordered at Sci Fi was the dhrimp pasta and I agree it is horrible !! It was just tasteless !! Since then I have ordered hamburgers or steak !!! Both of which have been great !! Now their Turtle Cheescake and oreo cookie milkshake are as the dessert says OUTTA this world !!!

Your dinner looks amazing! I've always bypassed R&C because I just always picture just fish 'n chips and beer...not my thing. But boy...those scallops look yummy!

I hope Mark is feeling better

thanks lisakeys fir recipe link Love Scottish
eggs
R &C definitely a favorite I have often said those
scallops throw a few more I'm good to go !

Never tried Sci-Fi Prefer Momma Melrose

Crap!!! I just knew I shouldn't have taken R&C off of our ADR list!!! THose scallops look amazing! OK - OK , maybe next time.

Do you have any ideas how many times I had that Halloween Minnie tee in my hands to buy??? Seriously - I so badly wanted to take it home, but I did not. It was soooo cute! Hopeuflly they will have it next time.

That drink looks great - can you only get it at OKW? Although - I don't have the best luck with resort drinks... Sigh.

D~

Tim isn't going to be very happy if you keep updating like this.

And right after taking that picture, it decided to rain. This would be the FIRST of our 4:00 rain days (it did this every day of the trip but one :()
Welcome to Disney World in the summer time.

Our view from our table against the building
Great view. Too bad it isn't about 4 hours later.

Before our appetizers came, so did the rain. Or shall I say the monsoon? The staff hurridedly closed all of the side panels to keep everyone inside that was sitting outside dry.
So what did that do to the comfort of sitting outside? :confused3 It seems like with all that humidity, it would make things hot and stuffy out there with the panels closed blocking any airflow.

We decided we were too tired to go on and that we would head back to the resort and just relax until bed time.
Too tired to even walk across the bridge for an orange slush? :scared1:

What a bummer you got Rapunzel at the Animation Class! I'm sure that face characters must be so much harder to draw that animal characters. Someday I want to draw Pluto of course!

I love that Mickey & Pluto TOT print. Probably way out of my price range though!

I'm debating whether to tell Jim that the GMR is a high speed coaster or something just to see his panic and confusion when we board with no seatbelts. Think that's a little too mean? :rotfl2:

What a nice afternoon at Epcot, you hit a lot of my favorites!

Hey! That's my table at Rose & Crown! It's the same one I sat at in March. So glad Mark loved the Scotch Egg. When I read he ordered it because of raves on the DIS, I thought "uh, oh it will be all my fault if he doesn't like it!" since I'm one of the ones who goes on and on about them. Phew, dodged that bullet. :rotfl: Your fish and chips looked better than the one I got in March, I think mine was a little undercooked because the fish part was really mussy. Still love Rose & Crown though and can't wait to eat there again in October.

I think that Minnie & Pluto Halloween shirt may have to come home with me!

Oh, and you asked about the Pluto tattoos. Nope, I haven't had one yet mainly because my last two trips have been cold! Hard to get a tattoo with no skin exposed! Maybe this next trip it will be warmer.

Beautiful photos of Epcot! Your meals at Rose & Crown look delicious! I'm sorry that the fish was a let down but that just means that your scallops were excellent. I love the picture of you with your Turtle Crawl :)

Kathy it has been years since I made Scottish Eggs , but they are delicious !!! I only wish they also had pork pies !!!MMmmmm those 2 would be my dream meal !!!

Mmmn, Scotch Eggs! I've started making them for Christmas Day Breakfast as one of our side dishes, so yummy!!!

Dinner looks wonderful and has me very excited to finally eat there in December. I love your tank top and YAY for the Turtle Krawl! What a perfect vacation drink.

Bummer about the 4:00 rain but the afternoon and evening seem quite lovely otherwise.

Kathy, I am just finally getting to sub.... but havent had time to read yet. I will get there, honest!:confused3

HOLY COW the singing in the rain! Gene Kelly and Mark? the resemblance is UNCANNY!!! couldn't tell them apart! :upsidedow

Please tell me you bought Dumbo for Mark?? that poor man deserves a stuffy/blankie Dumbo. Just sayin... and of COURSE YOU deserve the same in Tigger!!!

We didn't get a desk, but had a lap pad and were happy as clams. That is until we had to draw. We got Rapunzel. Seriously? I love Rapunzel, don't get me wrong. But I wanted Mickey or Eeyore or someone like that.

I'm sure the animators like to change things up so they don't get bored.

It said it was a 20 minute wait, but we were through and on the ride in less than 10 minutes.

I find that to be a common experience on GMR. :rolleyes1 Mark looked like he was having more fun singin' in the rain than the guy on the ride, too.:thumbsup2

We had some time before our dinner ADR, so we hit up a few attractions. We knew fastpasses for Soarin' would be gone, but we knew we could take a ride and Listen to the Land:

Good call there.:thumbsup2

Then we hit one of Mark's favorites:

Another good call. :thumbsup2

Then we went to see my favorite purple dragon:

Figment! Your ride sucks, but we still love you!!!:rotfl2::rotfl:

That about sums it up! :rotfl2::rotfl:

And right after taking that picture, it decided to rain. This would be the FIRST of our 4:00 rain days (it did this every day of the trip but one :()

It's almost like you're in Florida or something.

Mark started with the Scotch Egg. He wasn't sure if he was going to like this but I told him it had received high praise on reports I read so he wanted to give it a try.

Now that looks really interesting, and I've never heard of it. What all is in it?

Mark has informed me that Rose & Crown now goes back on the must do list for every trip. He'll get no complaints from me.

High praise indeed! It must have been a relief after the nasty Sci-Fi pasta.
