What Time is the 4 o'clock Rain? -- Updates 11/2-4 -- Tim's surprise and Marco&Recap

Can't find the comment about keeping this moving- but no worries. Just jaw dropping when I find 3 more pages. :scared1:

For my slow time at work I sure am busy. Between my annual conference in a couple of weeks and then a Disney trip I need to get stuff off my desk before I disappear at work. :lmao:

It was finally time for our fastpasses for TSM. When we got there, we were in shock. The line for standby was at 180 minutes!!! And, not only that, there was a line OUT THE DOOR for the fastpass return. I will say it went quickly, but I have never seen it like that in all of our visits. :scared1:
180 minutes huh? Ummm no thanks.

What is it with Mark and the swords? When we were there in Dec he and Todd were having sword fights in one of the gift shops and we had to yell at them remember? :rotfl2:
Ummmm... I knew you guys were close. I didn't realize it was that close. :rolleyes2

I am so glad Tim told you to slow down....I had a chance to catch up then too!
You think she listens to me? :sad2:

He really enjoyed this. I had the Shrimp Pasta:

What did I think of it? It was one of the most disgusting things I had ever eaten. It was absolutely horrible.

Our waiter came to see if we wanted dessert and we said no. He asked how we liked our meals and saw I had hardly eaten anything (thankfully I had those onion rings) and I told him I didn't like it at all. Much to my surprise when he came back with the check, he had the meal removed from the bill. I certainly didn't expect this or want it...I know everyone can have a bad meal. It did kind of make up for his really terrible service (a trend this trip, unfortunately).
I'm so sorry to hear that. Nice of him to take it off the bill but he should of done that. We didn't love our meal there in Nov. We won't be rushing back.

Wow Kathy, I don't log on all day long and then when I do late in the evening you have a ton of responses... I'm glad you take the time to post and respond, I sincerely mean this when I tell you the DIS would not be the same without you. ;)

As for your meal at Rose & Crown... I had an ADR booked a few years ago and cancelled it; after those pictures and review I'm going to have to give it some serious consideration for our trip next June (Our Dec. trip ADR's are all set already).

Mark started with the Scotch Egg. He wasn't sure if he was going to like this but I told him it had received high praise on reports I read so he wanted to give it a try.

What exactly is a Scotch egg? I think I would like to try it.

I started off with the Roasted Sea Scallops:

Let me just say they could have cancelled my dinner order and just brought me three or more plates of these. They were out of this world. Probably THE best sea scallops I have ever had.
Those look really good. I wanna eat at R&C now. I usually just end up drinking a black and tan and doing a few car bombs there. :drinking1

However, on the way, we cut through Mouse Gears and looked at some of the Halloween stuff already out for sale:

I'm sure Melody would love that shirt.... maybe it will still be around this year. :upsidedow

Tim isn't going to be very happy if you keep updating like this.
You are right.... spent an hour here. Guess that means no update on my report tonight. :beach:

OK, How is it possible I had missed so much??? Well, I am all caught up now!

We had a similar experience at Sci-Fi when we were there. It was bad enough that Jon has said he will never go back again. It was just nasty... I know that Jon had gotten some kind of steak and he couldn't even chew it. I ordered a burger and when it came it was still bloody in the middle... even after I stressed how I didn't even want to see pink! We never said anything and just marked it off our list of places to do again.

I MUST know, what is a Turtle Crawl???

LOVE the dumbo picture!!!

I spy another one next to it?!?!? :rolleyes1

"ummmm nope. I'm only 10 pages behind. " (sorry didn't quote this)

Looks like Tim is cheating and bouncing around on your report..::.

Wow! I got behind!

Sounds like Rose and Crown made up for the disappointing meal at Sci-Fi. Those scallops sound great! I'd put Rose and Crown on the list, but we have a few places at Epcot that my family insists on doing every trip. ;)

I think Mr. Mark needs that Dumbo pillow pet. They look so cute together!

/
We've never tried Rose and Crown. What exactly was a Scotch egg? Did it have ham in it? May have to try R/C on another Mom's Only trip when we do the Food and Wine with free dining (and no kids).

Always rains at Epcot. I think you needed Miss Mary's umbrella more than she did. ;)

It was HOT this summer there. I feel for Mark. Poor guy looked like he was melting. Hope his cold brew cooled him off.

We haven't eaten at Sci-Fi in a long time. The kids don't really like the movie clips. I love the atmosphere in there, though. I agree that the food is just OK.

Rose and Crown is definitely on our list. In fact I have had several ADR's there at different times, but it always gets bumped for some reason.

Susan

What in the world happened to my original reply?! All typed up and now it's gone! Ugh!!

Sci-Fi is a fun place but I'm not crazy about the food....the burgers were pretty good ad the onion rings were so good!! Your pasta looked pretty terrible, glad they took it off the bill for you but boo for the bad service you had throughout the trip. :(

I need that Halloween shirt!! So cute.

Hi Kathy!:wave2:

I followed on Facebook, but finally found the TR here! All caught up and loving the updates. Now that I'm caught up, I think another update is in order.....:rolleyes1

My DH and I have always wanted to eat at Rose & Crown. Now that we have Maddie, the regular dining plan is typically not in our budget. Perhaps an adults only trip. Hmm, I don't see that in the near future! :lmao:

Another great update!! Rose and Crown is always on Jeff's list. Wish the girls would find something they like there. I am excited to stay at OKW again!! Love the Dumbo pic.

sorry you didn't enjoy drawing Rapunzel, never done one of the princesses, would like the challenge :thumbsup2

dinner looks great at R&C, we are eating there for our Candlelight Proc night for the first time! pretty view too!
what is the scotch egg? it looks good.

on our AK day we will be coming in later since we will be at MVMCP the night before, you got tickets for the 5th too didn't you??? our ADR at Tusker house is at 10am we can meet up after breakfast.

Darn! Makes me feel like we made a bad decision to cancel our Rose & Crown dinner while we were there. I was looking to try their sticky toffee pudding dessert. But those scallops look fabulous. I'd want to make a meal out of them too. Throw on about 4 more and I'd be happy!

I think you and Em would hav eliked it; you'll have to try it next year for sure.

Mark did look beat at dinner at R&C but at least he has a cool Woody sticker!

He really was, but a good night's sleep helped him for the next day.

Ahhh the bothersome afternoon rain. Every day about that time we'd have a change of plans and head back to the resort or duck into a shop.

I knew you'd get the meaning of my title for the TR. I swear every afternoon like clockwork it rained at 4 p.m.

I would rejoice greatly with you over the Turtle Krawl but I've never had one so I have no idea!! :rotfl2: Assuming it's good.

Oh...you must come visit us at OKW sometime and have one with me. It is out of this world good!

ummmm nope. I'm only 10 pages behind. :lmao: :crazy2: :badpc:

I tried to slow down.....

Like I stated on another thread.... YOU CANNOT POST ON THE WEEKEND.

Did I actually do an update on the weekend? If so, it was only one and the others were during the week.

I have good reason too. ::yes::

Yes...you have two kids to watch all day while Ana is at school.

Kathy it is hard to describe a pork pie, it is obviously meat inside pastry, he meat is like a firm spam maybe , and it does have a jelly around the meat !! It an be eaten hot or cold and are popular Pub fare !!!

I'll have to look for it the next time we go to a pub.

Can't find the comment about keeping this moving- but no worries. Just jaw dropping when I find 3 more pages. :scared1:

Pat, a lot of that is chit chat. :rotfl:

For my slow time at work I sure am busy. Between my annual conference in a couple of weeks and then a Disney trip I need to get stuff off my desk before I disappear at work. :lmao:

I hope you get everything done; I know you are looking forward to some time away.

180 minutes huh? Ummm no thanks.

That's what I would have said without my fastpasses.

Ummmm... I knew you guys were close. I didn't realize it was that close. :rolleyes2

Now behave yourself, Tim.

You think she listens to me? :sad2:

Have I ever?

I'm so sorry to hear that. Nice of him to take it off the bill but he should of done that. We didn't love our meal there in Nov. We won't be rushing back.

It was very nice of him.

Wow Kathy, I don't log on all day long and then when I do late in the evening you have a ton of responses... I'm glad you take the time to post and respond, I sincerely mean this when I tell you the DIS would not be the same without you. ;)

Bob, you have to stop being so nice to me (the other guys on here might tell you differently).

As for your meal at Rose & Crown... I had an ADR booked a few years ago and cancelled it; after those pictures and review I'm going to have to give it some serious consideration for our trip next June (Our Dec. trip ADR's are all set already).

Yes, I think you should book it for June! It's really good.

What exactly is a Scotch egg? I think I would like to try it.

I will put the description once again at the top of the next update (I think I gave a description in response to someone a page or two ago)

Those look really good. I wanna eat at R&C now. I usually just end up drinking a black and tan and doing a few car bombs there. :drinking1

You shoudl try dinner with your black and tan and car bombs.

I'm sure Melody would love that shirt.... maybe it will still be around this year. :upsidedow

I would think it would...they had it everywhere!

You are right.... spent an hour here. Guess that means no update on my report tonight. :beach:

No, but you got one done this morning. I am very proud of you. :)

OK, How is it possible I had missed so much??? Well, I am all caught up now!

No worries, Tammy.

Oh we will be back (in fact we will be there in less than three months), I just won't order pasta or steak. Burgers or regular salad for me.

I MUST know, what is a Turtle Crawl???

It is a wonderful drink; MaryEllen or Cynthia has the receipe for it and they've made them themselves. I do know it has some rum in it.

LOVE the dumbo picture!!!

Isn't it wonderful? That was his anniversary gift from me (one of many gifts now that I think about it :rotfl2:)

I spy another one next to it?!?!? :rolleyes1

That was a palm tree print I had picked up somewhere which I'm hanging in my bedroom.

"ummmm nope. I'm only 10 pages behind. " (sorry didn't quote this)

Looks like Tim is cheating and bouncing around on your report..::.

Not unusual. ;)

Wow! I got behind!

I was behind on yours as well but I think I caught back up on it.

Sounds like Rose and Crown made up for the disappointing meal at Sci-Fi. Those scallops sound great! I'd put Rose and Crown on the list, but we have a few places at Epcot that my family insists on doing every trip. ;)

I wonder what those are???? ;)

I think Mr. Mark needs that Dumbo pillow pet. They look so cute together!

Mark has enough Dumbos for awhile. I should go in the basement and get the big one that stands on the ground out of the box for him.

We've never tried Rose and Crown. What exactly was a Scotch egg? Did it have ham in it? May have to try R/C on another Mom's Only trip when we do the Food and Wine with free dining (and no kids).

Scotch Egg description in next update. No ham though if I'm not mistaken. R/C is really, really good.

Always rains at Epcot. I think you needed Miss Mary's umbrella more than she did. ;)

I think you are right about the umbrella.

It was HOT this summer there. I feel for Mark. Poor guy looked like he was melting. Hope his cold brew cooled him off.

It was very hot; he was totally drained at the end of the day. But we only had one other day where we did not take a break at the resort so it wasn't too bad after that first full day.

Great update! :)

Thank you.

We haven't eaten at Sci-Fi in a long time. The kids don't really like the movie clips. I love the atmosphere in there, though. I agree that the food is just OK.

The atmosphere really is neat in there. If we stick to the basics, it's okay.

Rose and Crown is definitely on our list. In fact I have had several ADR's there at different times, but it always gets bumped for some reason.

Susan

Susan, I hope you get to R&C soon; I think you would enjoy it.

What in the world happened to my original reply?! All typed up and now it's gone! Ugh!!

Don't you hate when that happens?

Sci-Fi is a fun place but I'm not crazy about the food....the burgers were pretty good ad the onion rings were so good!! Your pasta looked pretty terrible, glad they took it off the bill for you but boo for the bad service you had throughout the trip. :(

The food is your standard counter service food in most regards; but if you stick with the basics, it's not bad.

I need that Halloween shirt!! So cute.

I really wish I would have bought it, but it would probably have ended up sitting in the drawer since I have two other Halloween shirts already.

Hi Kathy!:wave2:

:wave2: and :welcome:

I followed on Facebook, but finally found the TR here! All caught up and loving the updates. Now that I'm caught up, I think another update is in order.....:rolleyes1

Thank you for joining; I'm glad you followed on FB. Yes...another updat ewill be coming up as soon as I go to Starbucks and get my afternoon treat. :)

My DH and I have always wanted to eat at Rose & Crown. Now that we have Maddie, the regular dining plan is typically not in our budget. Perhaps an adults only trip. Hmm, I don't see that in the near future! :lmao:

It's hard with kids and doing the dining plan as I know it gets expensive from experience. One day you'll have an adults only trip...they are the best!

Another great update!! Rose and Crown is always on Jeff's list. Wish the girls would find something they like there. I am excited to stay at OKW again!! Love the Dumbo pic.

Have you checked the kids menu? The last one I saw had fish and chips, grilled sirloin, elbow pasta, grilled chicken and seared salmon.

You know me...I have no issue with staying at OKW over and over again. :)

sorry you didn't enjoy drawing Rapunzel, never done one of the princesses, would like the challenge :thumbsup2

When you can't draw a straight line, drawing a princess is NOT a good idea.

dinner looks great at R&C, we are eating there for our Candlelight Proc night for the first time! pretty view too!
what is the scotch egg? it looks good.

Good pick for the CP night! Scotch egg description will be at top of next update.

on our AK day we will be coming in later since we will be at MVMCP the night before, you got tickets for the 5th too didn't you??? our ADR at Tusker house is at 10am we can meet up after breakfast.

We may have to talk about this and see if there is another day we are at the same park. Mark and I will probably make rope drop (despite being at the party the night before). No, we don't have tickets for the 5th...we're only doing one party. Unfortunately, our lunch is right when you'll be ending your breakfast (we have an 11:00 at Yak & Yeti). I am not sure how long we will stay; the hope is to stay to at least catch the parade and then we have dinner at Yachtsman that night.

Yay all caught up!

Kathy all these TR's and never realized that it was Mark that got you into Disney. I always thought it was the other way around!!

Aw Rolo is such a cutie! And sweet sweet Cookie. Glad to hear she is hanging in there.:)

Glad you had a smooth flight. Always a good thing.

Oh DH & I LOVE WPE. We try to get there every trip. We have always had a good meal there. I guess that is why we have not made it to Raglan Road yet & some others down there because we really love WPE. We tend to be creatures of habit.

We really like being on the third floor or higher. I do not like having people above me so we like the higher floors.

Love hearing good reports about BOG. We are trying it in a few weeks for the first time. I want to try that onion soup & the pork chop looks really good. I am not a pork person but that looks yummy. Cannot wait!

Aw love your pic on the People Mover & love the Nike sandals!!:thumbsup2

Wow you did whop Mark's butt on Buzz!! You go girl. I know I did that on our last trip with DH & was so proud of myself.:) Of course he got you back on TSM but that's ok. I never do good on that either for some reason.

Gotta love that 10 min. wait for ToT.:thumbsup2

Too bad Mark did not get his ride on RNRC.:sad2:

Ha ha. I take the redneck photos all the time. Why not?

Aw love the Tigger on your shoulder. How long did it last? I might want to do that sometime.

We have not done the Backlot tour since we were picked to be part of the action. Yeah I made the mistake of saying I wanted a simple part & ended up with the water coming at me full blast!! DH & boys really got into the act though & they are so shy that it was so funny to see them get into the act!! I will never forget that.

Wow wow wow- the waits for TSM never cease to amaze me!! It does not seem to loose it's popularity at all!!

Another thing we have never done is the drawings. Really need to rectify this. My husband is an amazing artist & we have a picture in our living room of a fisherman he drew so I don't think I want to compete with that.:)

What a bummer about Sci Fi.:sad2: At least they took it off the bill. I am surprised they did that also. Good to know. We enjoy Mama Melrose's & going back to 50's this time.

Love going on The Land. Nice & relaxing.

We have not tried the sit down at Rose & Crown yet but will need to try soon. Wow never heard of the Scotch Eggs but they look good. Glad you enjoyed the scallops. DH loves scallops so sounds like he would enjoy it there.

Glad the rain ended for you by the time you were done. Unfortunately at that time of year the rain is an ordinary thing.

Aw love love love the pic of Mark with Dumbo. You should have one printed and enlarged & framed. So cute!

OK now hopefully I can keep up!!

SCOTCH EGG:

Per my APP on my phone and allears, it is: Golden-fried Hard-boiled Eggs wrapped in Sausage Meat with Mustard Sauce

So I was up at 6 a.m. and got showered, did my hair (I'm not sure why I continued this task with the humidity) and then got Mark up and he got ready. We were at the car at 7 a.m.

We drove to the Magic Kingdom parking lot, parked the car, walked to the TTC and took the monorail to the Magic Kingdom (didn't have a choice...the ferry wasn't running yet).

We had an early ADR so we were let in a bit early. Here are a few pictures on the way to breakfast:

I'm sure you all know where we were eating breakfast, but here is a picture to give you a hint:

We checked in and before you know it we were being escorted to our table.

The waitress told us the order the characters would come and to help ourselves to the buffet.

My first plate:

Mark's second plate (I'm not sure how I missed his first one):

And that is the last picture I got of our food. We were having too much fun with our waitress who was an absolute hoot and with the characters.

(my picture alone with Tigger was awful and I deleted it; but I made up for it later in the trip)

After we settled the bill and thanked our waitress for being such fun, we went to the restroom to wash our hands (that syrup is very sticky).

Mark in front of his pal:

I put Mark in charge of the plans for the morning and he said to go left. So left we went and headed here:

The first attraction we came upon was:

Mark said let's do this one. So off we went. And who ended up on the ride with us (although not in our carpet), but Aladdin and Jasmine. That was really fun to see.

After our magic carpet ride, we went to meet Aladdin and Jasmine. They were very talkative and we had a good interaction with them (reminder all photopass pictures will be posted once I get the CD which probably won't be until the end of next week or early the following week).

Continued in next post

After a fun meeting with Aladdin and Jasmine, we headed to the Jungle Cruise. We knew it was closing while we were there so we wanted to get on it when we had the opportunity:

Next we hit:

We stopped in the dump shop so Mark could see if he could find someone to have a sword fight with. We also tried on some hats:

We then headed over to:

But first, we grabbed a fastpass for Splash Mountain.

BTMR was posted as a 30 minute wait, but we were on in less than 15 minutes:

Up next, we still have time for more attractions before our lunch ADR.
