Planning our June trip. Never been to Ohana & thought we would try it this year on one of our MK days. Can get a dinner ADR for 6:50 or for 7:55. Can't decide which to take. Options are: after 6:50 dinner head back to MK for Parade & Wishes (scheduled for 9 & 10:00.) OR with the 7:55 watch Wishes from the Poly beach & the water parade (I know this has mixed reviews, but we haven't seen it & are always looking for new Disney fun.) Watching the fireworks from the beach sounds like a nice memory for some midwest, land-locked kids but seeing the parade come down the street & the fireworks over the castle sound pretty good, too! Would like to hear your thoughts, suggestions & experiences with this. TIA!

Personally, I would opt for the fireworks on the beach. That way you don't have to worry about rushing through dinner to get back to the MK in time to get a spot to see the parade and fireworks.

Of course, you could play it loose. Opt for the earlier time with the intention of heading back but know that if you get delayed or want to spend a little more time at dinner you can always watch everything from the beach.:goodvibes

Will you have a chance to see the MSEP and Wishes from within the MK on a different night?

If you've never seen Wishes from Main Street (or at least somewhere with a good view of the Castle), then I would do that. If you've already seen Wishes from inside MK, then I would try seeing it from somewhere new (like the beach at the Poly). I've seen Wishes from the CR and GF and while both views were really good and fun.

In terms of parades, MSEP is much longer than the water pageant. MSEP has recognizable Disney characters, while the water pageant doesn't have any Disney characters. It's mostly sea animals (real and mythical). I like both parades, but if I could only choose one, then I'd go with MSEP.

I like the PP's idea of playing it loose. Go with the meal at the earlier time, so if you want to go back to the MK you can. If you end up having a longer meal or just decide you want to see it from the Poly, then you still have that option.

If you do decide to watch the fireworks from the Poly beach you will should have a nice time and nice memories. We usually do this at least once (or more) each trip and even though DD is now 12 she still enjoys playing in the sand while waiting for them to start while her DGM and I sit on one of the lounge chairs. The view from the beach is great! Especially if the fireworks go off "all over the park" like during MNSSHP. :goodvibes

One thing we have noticed that it can be very difficult to hear the music from the fireworks that gets piped in. Especially if you have loud talkers near you. But the fw are still great to watch.

Last trip we found a new (to us) location to watch the fw. The parking lot and/or front of Contemporary. You can hear the music really well and the reverberation from the fireworks is awesome!

I would opt for the earlier dinner anyway. 'Ohana gets pretty busy; we waited almost an hour just to be seated one time...

I love watching EWP and Wishes from the Poly beach after a yummy dinner at 'Ohana...but ONLY if I have seen (or will see) the MSEP and fireworks from Main Street at least one other night during my trip. Is there any way you can do both?

I agree with the PP about doing the earlier dinner anyway. You may have to wait, and your service may be a little slow...Even that earlier time slot isn't guaranteeing you enough time to get a good spot for MSEP.
