What time for ADR to see Illuminations?

What time should I make my ADR in Epcot in order to be out to see Illuminations at 9:00? Thanks!

7pm at the latest, maybe 630 to be safe.

We had a 7pm reservation at Coral Reef - they were backed up so we weren't seated until later and then with the DDP, we had a couple of courses to eat so it took longer.

We were running to the lagoon to catch it - and only saw most of it.

Since they can often get backed up, I'd play it safe and do it a little earlier and give yourself time.

To just see Illuminations, 6:30 - 7:00 would be our latest ADR time.
To get a good spot for Illumination, 5:30-6:00, for most times of the year.

As PP said, the restaurants do get backed, and a 7:00 ADR may not be seated until 7:30 or 8:00, which would throw off your schedule. Better to play it safe and try to eat a bit early.

If you think you would like Rose & Crown Pub, try making reservations around 7:40. You can watch Illuminations from the restaurant. We've been there on several occasions and either watched from our table outside or were escorted to the patio from our table inside. It's really a nice viewing area.
