Part of the new "Room Ready" policy will be greatly affected by when people check out of their units, since mousekeeping can't clean 'em until people leave (much as they'd like to!). ;)

So...what time of day do you usually check-out and vacate your room?

We drive back home on check-out day, so we check out very early...about 6:00 a.m. at the latest.

I believe that check-out is by 11:00 a.m., so I've listed that as the latest.

We're slow on check-out mornings, sorry. We move in when we check in, using drawers, closets, etc. So packing to leave takes a while. We also usually make breakfast and get the leftovers squared away. Sometimes I even do some laundry. Diana

My wife and I are the furthest thing from morning people known to mankind. We have to set multiple alarms just to wake up by 9:00, so we can vacate by 11:00. :teeth:

I guess you know how I voted!

Our process is the same every time. Check - out, pack the car, then get to our 8:30am "getaway breakfast" at another resort: Chef Mickey's, Whispering Canyon, Kona Cafe' (tonga toast!!!!). We've got 2 day's of driving, and dad (me) likes to start off with a full tank.

We did try to get a late check-out once, when we were switching over from YC to VWL.... No luck. We were out'a there by 10am.

Sorry, but we're one of those families that push it to the limit! We like to try and sleep in and do our packing the morning of checkout. We always stay and hang out by the pool, so we are usually calling bell service at about 10:45. Our parents live in Orlando, so we bookend our stay so that we can visit with our parents before and after our stay at WDW.

We too push it right to the limit, usually calling bell services to pick up our bags about 10:45 am. The last two trips, I've had time to walk over to Epcot (from BWV) and do one last single rider line trip though test track while my DW is packing (I'm usually up and about earlier than she is during vacations, and the rest of the time too for that matter). So, we leave right around 11 am, head to DTD to shop, then drive to Celebration for lunch and off to either the airport if heading home or VB if spending a few more days vacationing.

We usually take a mid- to late-afternoon flight home, so our airport checkin is around 2 or 2:30 pm, whether we've going to the airport from WDW or from VB. Thus we usually leave VB right at 11 am as well.

We usually check out as soon as we get ready in the morning, an put our stuff in the trunk of the car. Then we usually head for the parks and meet back at the car about an hour before we want to be at the airport. This means we are usually out of the room between 8 and 9.

We are slooooooow... and apparently not very thorough, either.

Last time we checked out, we left behind a drawerful in the bathroom... cosmetics, pharamceuticals, and yup, my jewelry. Realized the mistake (dh thought I packed it, I thought he had...) about 6 hrs down the road later. WDW did mail it to us... we got nearly everything in that drawer shipped to us -- cotton balls, a half-consumed pack of gum, soaps and Tylenol, dh's Braun shaver, my Pooh watch, etc....... Everything, I should say, EXCEPT one basically new Clinique compact ($20), and a pair of opal earrings and a matching ring (priceless -- gifts from family). :(

I guess that was our penance for not doing a thorough room check...and trying to divide up the packing job between us, not knowing who packed what! So take heed and don't leave too early, and never let your spouse pack up half the bags -- something is bound to get overlooked and left behind! At least we still have all 3 kids :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsgirl:

Who ever took it needed it worse than I did, I suppose... I do confess though that I scanned eBay for my earrings / ring for several weeks after! But the new "owner" loved them as much as I did. The makeup thing I just can't figure. That would ick me out, to take someone elses' cosmetic products!

If it is DH and I, we are usually out n later than 10AM...sometimes even earlier.

If I have a bigger group(we sometimes travel with another couple and a single), then we are usually closer to 11AM, as the other 3 move slow.

We almost always book our flights home @ 2-3pm so we usually go for a swim and try to get a last ride on the "family plan" we purchased for our stay. We are packed the night before and get to freshen up before going to the airport. After getting to the airport, we will eat a relaxed lunch before boarding our flight home. We check out at 11:00am for all our stays, if we were to drive home (Heaven Forbid - Been There, Done That Way Toooooooo Many Times As A Youngin! And I Dont Like Giving Up 4 Days Of Vacation To Travel Itself.) We would also leave in the early A.M. - But until airfares become way overpriced (N.Y. has lots of Florida flights from several surrounding airports - excellent competition) we will fly and enjoy every minute of our beloved WVL before returing to the "real world"

;)

8-10 but its usually around 8:00 am. We fly out on late afternoon flights generally and will have bell services collect our bags and then we are off to the parks for the morning.

We drive to WDW, so we like to check-out and be on the road by about 8am. That way we arrive home in time to relax and unpack.

we drive, so our last day is a very special one. I start packing the night before and we load the car with things we don't need in the morning. We load and check out before 8 so we can enjoy our last day at the parks. Our family tradition is to do our favorite things at all 4 parks on the last day. We have a "good by, see you next year" for WDW. We start at EMH and then hop around until we are done about 6 pm, then start the drive. We stop at 11 pm, then then continue driving the next day arriving home about midnight .

Hey, that's our routine too! If you're having Tonga Toast on 12/17, we'll be the despondent-looking couple near the windows watching the monorails :)

Many trips it's the only time we eat breakfast out.
