How long does it take to get off of the ship? We are planning a pool day for that day, but if we can get off early enough might hit a park.
Thanks!

I doubt you'll be swimming on disembarkation (sp?) day....you have to have your bags packed and outside your door by 8:30 (I believe), I THINK you're off the ship by 9....sorry!

Better hit the parks instead! :)

Actually, your bags need to be pack and outside your door by 11PM the evening before, for those you don't intend on carrying off the ship yourself. The morning of disembarkation, you have to be out of your stateroom by 8AM and off the ship by 9AM. The pools are drained at that time for them to clean them and get them ready for the next cruise, so they're be no pool time that AM.

Thanks, Lori, for adding all the specifics to my very general answer! I couldn't remember the details!

Thanks for the info.
Does anyone know when you can first get off the ship upon returning?

I think that thay are asking about going to WDW after the cruise and wanting to know if they should do a pool day at the resort, or go to one of the parks. I haven't gone on DCL yet but have seen many post about people being in the parks or MCO by 10:30am . So you wouldn't be in there for the rope drop, but still pretty early . Hopefuly some who have done the same as you want to will answer. We were trying to plan the same thing as you and figured we'd almost count on being off early, but not be too disapointed if we weren't.

Actually, you can be there in time for rope drop, if you drive directly to the MK and disembark as soon as allowed. Usually the earliest people are allowed off the ship is 7:30, giving you plenty of time to get your things and get in your car and drive to MK, or any other park.

Yes, the previous posters are correct. We disembarked yesterday :( . The typical time that you can begin to disembark is between 7:35-7:55am. It takes only about 15-30 minutes to clear the terminal.

Thanks for the replies! Yes I did mean a pool day at WDW. I have told the kids that they will need to decide only one park to visit because I didn't want to waste time hopping on a short trip. They will be glad to know that we can now visit two parks. Thanks everyone!

As they say, "your mileage may vary". The wait to get off the ship on our cruise was 45 minutes. That's off the ship and into the terminal....it took another 15 minutes to get our bags, clear customs, check our bags with the airline at the port, and board the bus.

if you are among the first to get off and claim your luggage, customs, and clear the terminal if you will, are the DCL buses waiting to take you to the airport? Do we have to wait for the bus to fill up or exactly how does that work?? What if we are up and ready but we end up waiting 30-45 minutes for others to arrive in order for the bus to depart? Please explain.
