What time do they turn on the Osborne Lights?

We will be there in mid-December and we want to see the Osborne Lights, but we want to avoid the crushing crowds. I'm thinking that Fantasmic will be at 7pm, but what time will they turn the lights on? We are seeing Fantasmic on a different nights, so we were thinking of heading to the lights about 30 minutes after they turn them on. Does that sound like a good plan, and does anybody know what time that might be? Thanks!

6:00 AND 6:30 We have walked over after Fantasmic and viewed them.

The nov hours are out and they have fantasmic at 8pm (later in the month atleast), which surprised me...I was thinking it would be 7 as well.

My thought was they allowed more time for osbourne lights before fantasmic???

In 2002, the last year they had Osborne Lights, Fantasmic was at 6:00. The lights also turned on at 6:00. That was at the beginning of the month, they probably have later hours closer to Christmas.

Yes, 6:00 was the time we were there last time which was 2002, but it was a "MOB" scene!! I couldn't deal, 4 yr old dd was in her stroller and wouldn't have been able to see a thing so we dodged out to Mama Melrose, had dinner and returned aroung 7:15 to find a very empty Osbourne Lighted street. IT WAS GREAT!!

Not sure how it will be set up this year though since the display will be in a different location.

Any thoughts on the best way to view these would be? We're staying at BWV so we can just drop in at an off time. When might the crowds be a little less?

I remember the last time they were up, the Back Lot tour last ride was at 5, so they could clear that out for the Osborne Lights.

It is very busy right after Fantasmic, and very busy when they first start up.

My suggestion would be to arrive about 1/2-3/4 of an hour after they start up.

2 years ago, I was there In November and they had a special preview for AP Holders, does anyone know if they will have anything like this again? I hope so, it was reallly nice, I remember they served hot choclate and cookies.

5 MILLION Christmas lights up in the backlot area of MGM, with snow falling...it's absolutely breathtaking. Surprisingly quiet. Big mugs of hot chocolate. Peaceful, exhilarating. My daughter danced with a snowman and I cried (you'll forgive me, I was pregnant). They go up right after Thanksgiving; don't miss them!

I have seen in some places that Fantasmic starts the same time Park hours end, is that true? So if the park closes at 7 then Fantasmic is at 7 so you could see the lights while fantasmic is going on (times are just for example). I have read that they turn on at 6 pm but I was wanting to go a little later to avoid crowds, but how long do they keep them on?
