what time do the parks really open?

I just checked the hours for September and they were 9-6. I was planning to take the kids back to the hotel for a nap mid-day so I was hoping for an earlier start.

Does Universal open earlier than the stated time like WDW?

I am going in Sept. and we are spending 2 days at Universal. Can i get everything done?

How are the crowds?

We are not staying onsite so we will not have FOTL.

Last few times it has been 15 to 30 minutes earlier than posted time. Generally the busier the earlier. Sept. will not be too busy.
I would plan for the 15 minutes.
