what time can you get into the parks if you are not staying onsite?

on both days when we go - the EMH is open for disney hotel guests - two hours before offical opening.

we are not staying onsite - normally the park would open at 10pm - but to disney guests it is 8am.

can we still get into the parks before 10pm, just to look down main street and get our bearings, etc?
