I've seen some mention of Jersey Week. What does that mean? Please forgive my stupidity.

Most of New Jersey has moved to PACNMooner said:We honeymooned during half of Jersey Week last year. I was worried moving up toward our vacation and everyone told me to "relax" and that "every week is SOMEONE'S week."
They were wrong.
The crowds are not summer/holiday crowds but don't underestimate the power of New Jersey. Not only is it the most densely populated state, but it's also the biggest market for WDW. I wouldn't avoid Jersey Week like the plague (everyone was very nice at least!) but if you can go the week before or after I recommend looking into that.

OneMoreTry said:It's when there are a lot of people from NJ at WDW. I think it runs from March 1 to Jan 1.
Jan and Feb are England week.
happymommy said:My understanding is that it's a week in the winter (February?) that most schools in New Jersey are off. NJ apparently is a big state for vacationers at WDW, so it's a busy week at WDW. It may cooincide with President's Day - my kids' old Montessori school here in Maryland always gives that week off, and calls it "winter break".
Stimpy said:Jersey Week is usually the week in November around Veteran's Day. This year it is 11/4-11/11. Most schools in NJ also have days off that week for teacher conferences . BTW, alot of NY'ers (like us!) are also headed that way since the kids have off for both Veteran's Day & Election Day the same week.![]()
This is not EXACTLY correct. Many teachers go to the conferences. Some go for all of the days. Some go for just one day( Usually the South Jersey teachers), and some don't go at all. But to say very few attend is not true. I have been to NJEA many times and have found it hard to find parking, seats at the conferences, and space to walk.WOW said:This is EXACTLY correct. NJ is the only state that has their teacher conferences in November......Apparently the teachers also like WDW since very few attend the conferences.

Sheriff Woody said:Sounds like, since so few people attend, that they should do away with the whole charade of Teacher's Convention. Then they keep school open in November, end a week earlier in the summer, and I get WDW to myself that week!![]()
JandD Mom said:I respectfully disagree. NJEA has slightly under 200,000 members in NJ. I think the vast majority don't go to the conference, especially the tenured ones. Call me jaded... even a minority of NJEA members at those numbers would pack the AC convention center. I don't belive the AC convention center can even hold 10% of that membership.
I remember a few years back, I saw far more NJEA T-shirts at Disney than any others.
