What the difference between BWV and garden suites?

I was just wondering..... someone posted pics from a garden suite at the boardwalk.... are these for people with a large party? AND...... would it be crazy to ask for a free upgrade upon check in? We are going in Sept and we already have a one bedroom villa booked there (2 of us).

The garden suites are at the Boardwalk Inn; you are staying at the Boardwalk Villas, so you I don't think you would be moved from one to the other.

The garden suites are kind of like "honeymoon" suites with a king bed upstairs (?) and a little sitting area with a sofa sleeper downstairs. They have an outside entrance with a picket fence. I think they have a wet bar.

They seemed nice and quiet, kind of removed to me (we walked by them last December). So they would be nice and romantic.

If you have a one bedroom villa, you have something I love! A full kitchen and washer/dryer, king bed in the bedroom, living room, two balconies (usually), and loads of space. The villas are really great to have. I like them for my family, so we can fix simple meals and wash our clothes every day. You can't do that in a regular room (although I was so lucky - in December we stayed at the BWI and we were right next door to the laundry room - it was great!).

We booked a BWI garden suite for our Oct trip, thanks to a 40% off code. I really wanted the Boardwalk View but DH is all about the peace and quiet the suites offer, plus they are right out by the quiet pool and we spend alot of our time there.

Thank you very much for your info! I thought I knew a lot about disney but I keep learning new things every day :yay:

A 1 Bedroom Boardwalk Villa is larger than the Garden Suite. YOu will have a Master bedroom with a King Size bed, a Master Bath with a whirlpool tub, a living room with dining area, and a full sized, fully equipped kitchen. You will also have a stackable washer and dryer. There will be one, maybe two balconies to relax on. It is beutiful, private and very spacious.
Only a few of the Garden Suites have balconies. They have a loft bedroom with a King Size bed and a whirlpool tub in the bathroom. On the first floor there is a small sitting area with a kitchenette. The kitchenette will have an undercounter refrigerator, a microwave and a coffee maker. They are in a garden area near the quiet pool.
Personally I prefer the one bedroom Villa.
The Boardwalk Villas are a DVC property and the BWI is a regular hotel. I do not think there is any chance you would be able to request a change at checkin. If the Garden Suite is what you want, try to book it in advance.
Have a Great Trip.
