What stroller do I need?

I'm planning my FIRST trip to Disney World in March. I have a 2 year old and 4 1/2 year old. What is better, my bulkier double (front / back style) stroller or two smaller, single strollers? We are staying at GF and plan on using monorail quite a bit.

Each child is different, but I'll tell you what worked for me. Last year, I bought a Peg Perego Aria Twin for my two DD's. They were 10 mos and 2 1/2 yrs. This was alright, but I missed my Mountain Buggy Double. I didn't bring it though because it was so heavy and bulky in the airport. We stayed at GF and had use of the monorail, but we did have to fold it up once.
This year my now 3 year old will probably walk more. She doesn't like to be in the stroller anymore. So, I'm getting a cheap umbrella stroller for the 20 mos old and my newest DD will be in the Baby Bjorn. The only downside I see of not having your bigger stroller is in the airport. It's nice to have some extra storage for all the "stuff". Then again, it's a pain to have to go through security with those things. I think you want to weigh out what works best for you. The smaller strollers can be harder to push and don't have the storage, but their easier to fold up and carry around. Will this be too much in the airport for you though? My DH usually carries everything while I push the stoller. There's only two of you carrying everything. It's a tough decision and I'm still going back and forth on it and I'm leaving in a few weeks!

Personally I wouldn't bother with the double stroller. DS is almost 5 and the last two years we rented in the parks for him and brought our Graco metrolite for DD. DS was fine walking around outside the parks except for the night we stayed for Spectromagic at MK. DS (4) fell asleep waiting in line at the monorail station. I was holding him propped on my fanny pack all the way from MK to the Poly. DD (15mo at the time) was wide awake in her stroller. Anyway, I don't like to bother with two strollers while we're traveling, but like the convenience of having two in the parks, so we rent one for DS.

We're going in Sept and I will be bringing my then 13 month old and 5 yr old. I'm renting a sit/stand stroller from a business in the Orlando area. That way if and when my 5 yr old gets tired he can ride on the back. I didn't want to have to travel with my stroller, this seems easiest.

We just got back from a trip with our ds 3 1/2 and ds 15 months. We borrowed a friend's sit 'n' stand and loved it. It was super comfy for the baby and there was plenty of room for the 3 yo to jump on if we had a long way to walk or he got tired. It was easier to deal with than the double because it weighed so much less and folded up much smaller. It was nice to have it in the airport for all the stuff that accumulates. Our 3 yo got a rolling backpack/carryall for a holiday gift and he was thrilled to lug that thing around the airport with his toys, books and blankie. That helped immensly. It cut down on the stuff we had to deal with and he couldn't run away very easily with that big bag following him! Have fun!

I was in your boat. Here's what we did with our 4-yo and 2½-yo sons...

We brought our Duo-Glider stroller (front and back) and it worked great. Seeing that you'll be at the GF, you'll be able to roll the stroller right onto the monorail. Yes, those strollers fit just fine! The bus rides get a bit trickier because they are bulky but we would definitely do it again. It gave a lot of extra storage on the bottom, great sun shades, and we even bought a rain poncho specially made for it. That came in handy a few times. Nice having a dry stroller and it even allows the kids to be inside and stay dry (it's ventilated).

Also, while at the Orlando Airport, we were able to bypass the huge security line because we had the double stroller. They led our whole party to a line with noone in it. Ahh, that was great. I think I'll bring the stroller on all trips just to bypass that line...lol.

We are going with seperate strollers (3yr and 9 month) due to the fact that just in case one of us wants to go back to the resort we still have another stroller... Plus the fact that my 3yr will need some place to nap if neccessary.

Double side-by-side umbrella stroller worked GREAT for us. No problems whatsoever.
