What stores sell rocking gliders for a baby's nursery?

We are preparing our baby's room and I know I want to have a rocking chair of some kind. I really like the cushiony gliders with the wooden frames I've been seeing lately. I first saw a few in the baby section at Burlington Coat Factory, but they didn't have a great selection. Then I saw a huge selection at Babies 'R' Us and found a couple I really liked, but the prices were very high, especially since the footstool is priced separately. I want to look at other stores, but I don't know what other stores sell these.

Do you have any recommendations of other stores that sell gliders made for nurseries? It's important to me to try them out first, so shopping online isn't an option for me.

Thanks for any advice!

Most furniture stores sell chairs like that. We have a specialty baby store around here that has a great selection also. Maybe you can find someplace like that near you. I think it is very smart to try it out first, if possible. Some are much more comfortable than others. I like the ones with matching, rocking ottomans.

If you have any children's consignment stores in your area check those out. I've seen some in the stores here and the prices seemed very good. I have a standard wooden rocker so I've never shopped to buy one, but I believe the sets (chair and footrest) were in the $40-50 range. Also, if you have any childrens charities in your area - check and see if they have a fundraising sale. We have a few in our area that get hundreds of thousands of operating dollars by selling items that are donated (either for sale or use) in the center, many are brand new. A friend of mine also swears by Craigs List online (www.craigslist.com - then click your closest metro area) for baby things, as well as many other cool things.

We bought ours at Walmart and it is pretty comfy and much cheaper than what the baby stores sell theirs for.

Walmart sells them and the one we bought was and still is remarkably comfortable and has held up very well.

Baby's R Us / Toys R Us... I just love how they have them set out and welcome you to sit and try them, but they are a little high, but I loved the quality. I looked at ours as something I would have for all of our children and saw it as an investment. I loved the quality and the memories that chair holds. Just my opinion.

we got ours at babies r us. love it. dutailier was the brand..so comfy. instead of the matching ottoman I went with a nursing stool...way cheaper and way more comfortable, offered just the right support for my back.

My opinion - spend the money for a good one from BRU!

I couldn't stomach the price and ended up getting a cheap one from Sears - paid for the glider & ottoman what most places charge for just one piece. Big mistake. You get what you pay for. As much time as you'll spend in that thing at night, you want to be comfy!

Do you have a JC Penney near you?

We got our Dutalier glider and ottoman for about $100 LESS than what BRU was selling it for.

I will always check JC Penneys now before any other store. Hope that helps you! :)

They have a large selection at Buy Buy Baby, that's if you have one near where you live. Also, I've seen nice ones at Target.

Ours is from BRU. It was a bit pricey, but SO worth it! It is so comfy. We tried out a bunch at BRU and you could really tell the difference in comfort between the different prices. Now that DS is almost two, the glider is in our living room for now.

I bought mine from Target. There is a bigger selection online than in the store.
