What’s for Dinner Tonight?

I’m beat! Been running around with a list of appts and whatnot since 8am. Got up at 6am to get dogs fed and such…I have sirloin burgers..so will throw those on, some steak fries and a salad. The king will be arriving soon from the airport and will expect dinner.

It’s been a crazy day. I had to present at an all staff today and after work I have a bunch of things to get done before my surgery tomorrow. DH ran out and got us Chinese. I had veggie lo mein.

Tonight I made ham steaks, mac and cheese and peas. We haven’t had ham in FOREVER. Dh isn’t the biggest fan.

Wednesday was our 42nd anniversary. We don’t do fancy but went to Longhorn Steakhouse for dinner. We both had filets and house salad for him and Cesar for me. I had a loaded baked potato and he had mashed. We bought home desserts- molten chocolate cake for him and cheesecake for me. It was delicious!

Last night with grand kids having dinner here......they will be back in a couple of weeks to stay.

Tonight we are having pork stir fry and noodles.....probably more strawberries and cookies and ice cream

Been a hectic week. Ended up on my own last night and just made up a bit of tuna salad. I can finish off the rest for lunch today.

Tonight will be hummus wraps.

Happy belated anniversary to @marthachick. Honestly our best celebrations have been the ones where we just celebrate the way we want without thinking about if it's fancy or whatever. A few years back we took the day off work based on a very promising weather forecast, packed up drinks and snacks, picked up lunch on the way, set up early at a park where one of our favorite bands was playing that night to kick off a festival and enjoyed the whole day in the park, walking, frisbee, played cards, a little reading. We had princess parking, turfed out our ideal seats and were able to scope out the food trucks while they were setting up so we had our selections ready and grabbed dinner with no lines the minute they opened for business. We were able to enjoy our dinner while the crowds were looking for parking and standing in food lines and be packed up and ready to enjoy the music when the band took the stage. It was the kind of spectacular day and weather you look back on and feel like you can almost taste it. So fun.

I love this pasta from TJ’s. Used to think it was Spring/Summer only but I think they have it year round. Anyway doing this buttered with parm, lemon chicken and an Italian salad.

Tonight we had my recipe of Dr. Pepper Beef BBQ that I make in the slow cooker. Let it cook all day and it was so tasty with crinkle fries we made in the air fryer!

I made Red Chicken Chili tonight. Somehow, with all three “kids” back in the house from college, I forgot how to cook for five. (Two were already home. I only added one more person and made a VAT that will serve us for a week! )

Tonight was quesadillas. SIL/DD/and the no-longer-resident 8 year old were here for dinner. I made stuffed peppers earlier in the week and had a ton of filling left over, so it was the base for the quesadillas. Spanish rice, ground beef, onions, and black beans were in the filling, and I added cheese as I made them. We also had salad.

Back to back sports banquets tonight for middle and high school. Same meal served at both, so only at once. Chicken strips, pulled pork, salad, and Mac n’cheese.

Wow... that's crazy ... fortunately for me my surgeries were life alterrating I so I had the 5:am window. I really feel for you waiting if you spent those hours in pre-op

Daughter brought us six sandwiches...so I had my last one and the dogs got fresh spinach...and me. Well I ain't no popeye the sailor man

Pasta with lamb sausage, ratatouille heated up together with red pepper flakes and sprinkled with lots of grated Parmesan.

The fridge should be “echoing” soon and the freezer definitely has less inventory.

That is a long wait and they are so hard
When I broke my hip....got to the hospital at 10 am Monday and got surgery at 3:30 Tuesday!! Horrible waiting.
