What souveniers do you buy?

I always buy a hat. I have no idea why. To the point when I try to buy a new one my kids have to remind me that I already have most of the hats.

I always look at the pins, but really, can usually get them cheaper on e-bay. EXACT same pin, usually for less than half what it would cost in the park. Brand new, still sealed. But I'll still look. And the Christmas ornaments, if something catches my eye, though I've already got enough to fill several trees. And coffee mugs, if they have one of those with 'all' the characters. One of my favorite souvenirs was an Alice in wonderland with all the other characters snow globe (the snow globe was in the spinning cup). Like a PP said, if you see something you like, you'd better get it. The 2nd time we went I was all primed for all the 'good' stuff, and ended up buying VERY little.

Shot glasses. They are small and cheap and don't take up much room in the suitcase. I hate collecting too much stuff and I'm not a shopper. And they are a conversation starter when we have people over for drinks. :)

Like someone else mentioned, the refillable mugs are constantly used at our house. Love them!

I think the best souvenir is subjective. I have bough perfume in Italy because I can't get it here at home. My park bag was bought in MouseGears and I love it. I don't really go in with a goal though. I just take along some money and buy things I see that I want. I also spend way too much on DD. My favorite souvenirs are my hoodies. I have several and I wear them all. Well, one just died on me. Got it in 2011 at Epcot and noticed holes in the elbows a few weeks ago.

Christmas ornament, beach towel for each of the kids and we always buy a magnet as well:)I like to always get myself a pair of mickey earrings too:)

We always collect magnets wherever we go, but, we plan on getting:

- magnet
- ornament
- tee shirt
- mug

My mom has always been a keychain person. She used to get one for every member of our extended family! Now we tend to buy at least one item for the home/kitchen. So we have Mickey wine glasses, magnets, measuring cups, thermometer, coasters, etc. We've built up a nice collection and everything is practical so it gets used all the time.

Photo albums and photo frames, and last trip I got a set of four plastic tumblers that I drink out of nearly every day.

Always something different.... some trips I get a shirt, sometimes an item for the kitchen (tea, a mug, towels, etc) others a stuffed toy or a charm for my pandora bracelet. We've also done an attraction poster, a tiki mug from Trader Sams, a keychain, an iPhone case... I've also had trips when I get nothing at all. We'll usually at the very least bring back a rice krispy treat or the coconut mickey heads to get us through the next work week... yum! :)

We used to buy A LOT from Disney. Whether on vacation at the world or back in the day when Disney used mail order catalogs. My husband and I were just talking about this the other night. We used to buy a lot more when they put out the catalog than we do online. Merchandise has certainly changed, and in our opinions, not for the better. My husband likes the higher-end collectibles. In the past he has purchased many cells as well as other collectibles and was a member of the collector's society. Even that has gone down hill. They don't make cells anymore, everything is computerized. So, we buy a lot less. I'm sure if Disney would turn around and start selling things that we like, we'd have to watch our wallets!

Unless I missed it, no one said EARS. I have ears from Disneyland and can't wait to get ears from DW. I'm also planning on a Christmas ornament for our tree.

When people are shopping, I say, "I'm good; my souvenir is the next trip." :teacher:

What are some of your ideas for the best souveniers to buy? We love the ornament, pins and mugs. We can't wait to shop.

Used to buy a mug, but have more than enough now, and really don't like any of the current mugs, so we usually don't buy any souvenirs. Lots of things are cheaply made, and a lot of it is stuff we would never look at or use again so we pass. We don't have little ones now to buy for.

Pins (for collecting, not trading)
Kitchen stuff (love my dish towels, apron, oven mitts, and dessert plates!)
Photo frames and the occasional album
Each kid gets one moderately priced toy per visit, up to $30 or so

I find the clothing way too expensive. I can usually get much cheaper stuff at the Disney Store so I save my $$ unless there is something particularly unique that I know will only be available on site like my kids' Fort Wilderness shirts.

I got a metal/glass mickey shaped bird feeder during the flower/garden festival. It looks like a vine...that is shaped like a hidden mickey, with a small feeder dish. I smile every time I look out my front door. Most wouldn't even notice it's Disney....but its by far my favorite souvenir!!!

Antenna toppers. Cheap(ish), I have room to display, they are constantly coming out with new designs for holidays, but I usually manage to come home with at least a couple new ones.

Not much really. I'm not into knick knacks around the house or much character themed items.

I like to get some shot glasses from whatever resort we stay in. I like to get a mug for my desk. SO likes a mug too.

I let DD get a stuffed Minnie or Mickey and then the kids pick one major thing they want. Usually towards the end of the trip after they've seen most everything.

If something catches my eye and I can't get my mind off of it I will get it.

Oh Crikey this is my problem area, every trip consists of: calendar, ornament(or 3), photo album, A&A bracelet(or 3), earrings, dated t-shirt and/or sweatshirt, scarves(yes, that was plural-there is usually a deal!), a dated pin, possibly a Vera or Dooney.
We only go once a year so I allow my DD17 and I a reasonable budget that we save for all year based on what we spent the year before times 15%(wow I sound like a banker!) last few years we both still come home with funds towards the next years sum.

we went in May. I ended up with a purse, and a few ornmanets. My child got a couple pins too.

Just bought some super cute 'orange bird' juice glasses in the MK. Makes me think of Main St. when I have my oj every morning.:goodvibes

I am going in January and I think I am going to get the pitcher...I just love it :)

I usually get a magnet( started when my girls were little) and I got dish towels like a pp said earlier. The red/white polka dots work perfect in my kitchen. And I started a new tradition on my last visit--- a tea cup from The Tea Caddy at Epcot( along with gobs of tea--I can't find most of the Twinings flavors at home). I just love that store!!!!
