What should my daughter bring?

I'm at that phase too! My daughter is checking in on the 16th. I've read about a lot of things that are provided like dishes and pots and pans, but what about kitchen and bathroom items like paper towels, toilet paper and cleaning products? My college dorm provided it, but her college does not...what about Disney?

I'm also wondering about appropriate clothing. She'll be in costume for work, and she has stuff for her off hours. But other than that how often will she need "Disney look" clothing...training, classes...what else? Are a few nice outfits appropriate or will she need more? I know what is written about dressing for classes, but for those of you who have already done the program, can you describe what people are actually wearing for training and classes? THANKS!

Hey there. Besides clothes, here is some of the stuff that I brought down:
*computer (a computer is a MUST. The computer labs at Chatham/Vista have weird hours, and don't have that many computers. I only used the one at Chatham a couple of times, and that was to print something).

*a good alarm clock (you get in big trouble if you're late a lot. So make sure the alarm clock works).

*stuff to decorate

*a lamp

*a lock, for the locker (I never used mine, but you never know. And if you have a lot of valuables, you might feel better locking them up).

*a comforter for the bed (this is personal decision. but some people get cold easily, and some roomies blast the AC. I was so happy I had mine).

*Warm clothes (it does get cold during the winter. During my first CP, there were days where I was in shorts one day, and literally the next day in sweats and a heavy coat- this was in Feb).

*a router (this is nice because then you can use the computer all over the whole apartment, not just in one area).

That's all I can think of now, but if I can think of anymore I will post it here. Also, there is a nice Super-Walmart nearby, so if you forget (or need) something you can most likely get it there. And yes, you will need to provide cleaning items, bathroom items, ect. Pots, pans, utensils, ect are provided.

As to the clothing question, you will need "Disney Look" clothes for Traditions, training (a couple of days. A few days of training will be in costume), any classes, and sometimes there are special events. But that it pretty much it.

When i did my program, i brought things like bedding (i brought like 2 other blankets incase the apartment was chilly), toaster, coffee maker (love the coffee in the mornings !! next time, i plan on bringing a small crock pot for meals (stick it in for the whole day!) I also brought my george foreman grill for chicken and other stuff and my roommates used it too. bring toilet paper, paper towel, bathroom cleaners (lysol or whatever), kitchen cleaners, dishwashing soap... just things like you have in your home.
and when you get down there, you will probably remember some other stuff that you will need to get (I did!!), but that is what walmart and target are for!
as for clothes, the first week or so you are basically dressing up for traditions and training. i wore dress pants (black and brown), dressy polos, sweaters (even though the weather was decent when i was down there), and black boots. If you are not in the disney look, they might make you go back to your apartment and change, or take something off... i knew some people who had to like take earrings out (too big) to having to shave (males). Just look presentable, not necessarily fashionable.

the good news is that there is a target, walmart and ikea near by (if the cp doesn't have a car, there are buses that run to walmart and the malls).

i brought cooking stuff. i realized during my first program that the kitchen is rather lacking with pots/pans, cooking sheets, cutting knifes, etc... i also brought a cook book.
in the bedroom, i bought some pictures, things to decorate (mainly i bought my cute dorm things), hangers, an iron, i also brought a small bookshelf to put my dvds, printer, tv, dvd player.

lots of clothes, you never know when you can have the time (or money) to do laundry.
