What shoes do you wear that are comfy but also look decent?

I hate wearing big tennis shoes with capris.... I just look ridiculous. Are there any comfy shoes out there that look decent w/ capris & jeans (we'll be there in Jan so you never know what the weather will be).

I have the same issue. I have seen some people with the low top Sketchers tennis shoes. They look great but not sure if they are comfy.

With capris and shorts I wore Crocs Capri slip on thongs. Looking at them you wouldn't think they would provide much cushion, but they really did; my feet did not hurt at all and they don't look goofy like some other Crocs can. I also didn't have any rubbing or blister issues with the straps. I'm taking 2 pairs of them with me on our trip to WDW in 21 days! I think I bought mine from Shoebuy.com but I know you can also find them on ebay.

I bought a pair of Merrell sandals with a velcro back strap, and they were a lifesaver! I purchased them at an outlet about a month before our trip so I could break them in, and I never had a problem with sore feet or blisters.

They were brown leather so they went with almost everything, and I could wear them on most every ride without worry! Since they were sandals I didn't have to worry about socks or hot feet either.

Here is a link to what they look like: http://www.onlineshoes.com/productp...hop&term=women's+merrell+savannah&offer=32537

I love them! I think they will be making trip #2 in August 08!

You can walk miles and miles in MBT sandals. I wore my brown MBT sandals and my MBT white sports when I went to WDW. I walked everyone into the ground lol.

I also meant to add I have really flat feet, and until I found these shoes walking any distance for long periods of time was painful.

Thanks for the replies! Any other shoes other than sandles? I'm just thinking it might be a bit cold to be wearing sandles when we go in Jan

I haven't tried them, but I'm looking at some different Keens for our trip in January. People rave about their sandals, but they have shoes, too. I have foot pain, and I don't think that my NB walking shoes aren't going to work.

I'm about to order three pairs from zappos (with free shipping/free return shipping, I can easily send back the two of them). I was going to wait, but I'm worried about break in time. I read reviews, and, based on those and looks, I've narrowed it down to these. These seem most styled like the original sandals, the reviews are good, and the reviews include the same issues that I have (something to consider). I prefer one of the mary janes, but worry about the sock/no sock issue!

They are pricey, but if my options are pricey shoes or foot pain at WDW, I'll take the shoes!

Good luck!

I just wanted to add that a lot of DIS people really like Crocs, so you might check those out...but I just can't do it!

Hope I don't get slammed but honestly I think crocs look ridiculous. Sorry...... I will say I've seen the Mary Jane ones and those aren't that bad. I work in a business environment and there's a girl at the end of the hall that wears them to work. Now that is just inappropriate!

I'm with you on this. I know everyone LOVES their crocs but it's just not me either. We are also going in Jan. and I have been looking for months with no luck. I think I will sacrifice style for comfort and just go with the tennis shoes. :confused3 I actually don't even own a great pair of tennis shoes  Ugh! I will check out some of the links above but I don't know about sandals in Jan. Of course it's -13 outside right now and perhaps if I was in FL I would feel differently. Hope you find something you can be happy with and comfortable.

I'm one of those people that only wear tennis shoes to the gym and couldn't see myself wearing them in the parks with jeans or capris. I picked up some sketchers a couple of months ago to try them out for our trip in January and that's what I'll be wearing. They are comfy and look somewhat more appropriate with the clothes I'll be wearing.

Crocs. sorry to the purists out there who think they look funny,I think they're cute!:confused3 go figure.....:thumbsup2
anyhoo.....they can't be beat for pure comfort that just doesn't quit-we'll be there in January, and if it's too cold for warm weather clothes and crocs, I have a pair of Birkenstock polished leather clogs that I wear with jeans....
and,oh,are they cute!:lmao: actually, they are, you wouldn't know they're Birkis by the outside..... I'm a foot purist, comfort before style at all times!
As God is my witness,I'll never have sore feet again!:rotfl2:

Tevas are fantastic-they have shoes and sandals. In all my trips to disney these are what I wear.:thumbsup2

I tend to agree. I just wanted to mention them because a lot of people here seem to like them.

Try New Balance if you are looking for good tennis shoes. I had foot pain for months in my right foot. I bought some NB walking shoes, and the foot pain disappeared. Of course, now I'm having foot pain in the other foot (different foot pain), so I'm not sure what to do now about our January trip...which is why I'm checking out the Keen shoes (see above post). Keen has sandals as well as shoes.

Good luck!

We just got back from our trip Dec 3-8, and I switched every other day alternating tennis shoes and my mary jane crocs (black ones). I didn't get any blisters or have any trouble for our week there doing this.

Thanks for all the good suggestions. We're leaving Jan 11..... I just don't know when I'm going to fit shoe shopping in. With all of my Christmas stuff going on and being really busy at work! I hope this thread can narrow my search!

I am not a huge fan of Crocs, but I think they are a good choice for WDW. The biggest mistake people can make is to buy new "comfy" shoes before they go because they won't be broken in and will end up hurting! (This happened to my friend last year) My parents think I am crazy but I am most comfortable in my everyday flip flops.

I have a great solution! Try Easy Spirit Traveltime "sneaker mules." They're sneakers, but they're backless mules - very cute, extremely comfortable, come in lots of colors. I have them in four colors - due to a foot problem, I can't wear shoes that aren't "backless." Much cuter than a clunky athletic shoe when wearing capris and shorts. You can wear them with or without socks.

Check them out on Zappos.com. (Or, if you have a Macy's store near you, they often carry them, on sale!) Zappos is great - free (often overnight!) shipping, free return shipping if they don't work out.

(PS - just saw your second post about not having time to shoe-shop before your trip. Since you're not leaving until January 11th, order through Zappos - they often have free overnight shipping, and free return shipping, as I mentioned above.)
