What shoes do you wear in the rain???

I wore my Crocs to walk on the beach and when they got wet my feet were slipping around 'inside' them - same thing was happening this weekend while I was gardening - it was uncomfortable for me to walk in them when they got wet inside - love walking in them when they're dry, though! For June, with lots of rain likely, I'll be wearing my good old Teva's !

Sperry Duck Shoes. I wear them whenever it rains, they are comfy and made for the wet weather.

Wore the CROCS for 6 days in WDW...all of which had rain except for yesterday. The CROCS were great...did have a bit of squishy toes after sloshing through 2 inch puddles, but dried within 10 minutes...no slips with the soles of the shoes though.

Got a new pair for this trip. Have to say that they seem to be VERY comfortable and supportive. I can't wear just anything.

Teva sandals get my vote. If you're on a tight budget cheaper versions work as well for rain. Just keep in mind they won't work as well for the foot, knee and joint pain we get (well some of us anyway) from walking the parks all day.

Myst

Tevas.
I did have on my Croc Niles on a rain day in April & did slip once, so they are not slip-proof. But not bad either.....

Me too, still liked them in the rain but people should be aware that on some surfaces, they are slippery when wet. For me, it was the tile in the covered walkways in the Epcot Innovations area. I learned to walk on the texturized tile and avoid the smaller glossy kind.

What about the now-famous Crocs in the rain?

It was raining last Tuesday when we were at WDW so we decided to go to MGM and there were a LOT of people wearing Crocs (including my DD). We had only seen a few people at the parks prior to that wearing them so either everyone was in the mood for their Crocs or they all thought they worked well in the rain.

Even if it doesn't rain they are so comfortable and light. Remember about the waterides as well. Ill always wear Crocs or sports sandals to Parks. I hate wet smelly blistery feet.

Tevas.....I got them when we went white water rafting in Montana. It was suggested by the outfitter. Then I wore them to WDW and wouldn't go back without them.

I was wearing my Tevas last Friday during a torrential downpour at Epcot. No-one else was even prepared to cross from west to east innoventions it was raining so hard. I waded through with top class traction and we walked on Misson: SPACE. It was amazing, there weren't even enough people to fill all the operating vehicles on the ride!

This is the first I've heard of "crocs". I had to go google it and look- are you all serious? RUBBER shoes all day at Disney World? No thanks... I'm trying to avoid blisters thanks much. LOL

We're wearing our regular tennis/walking/athletic shoes on our trip and avoiding the pitfall of wearing different shoes and/or sandals getting wet and getting blisters that we've done before. I don't know what we'll do if it we get soaking wet shoes and then it rains again the next day (with the other pair of shoes). From experience I know tennis shoes don't dry overnight or the next day... but we simply can't get different shoes for our upcoming trip on such short notice then wear them (new, not broke in) or we'll all be screaming ahhhhhhhhhh (because of blisters)

Hoping for pixie dust on this... or maybe I'll be drying tennis shoes in the dryers each night. Who knows. LOL

First...Crocs are not rubber. They are a special antibacterial resin that molds to you foot. I have been wearing mine non-stop, as has my dd and dh, to be sure they will be okay in WDW. Have to say that here in NE, the weather has been very Orlando like...steamy!! No problems footwise. So, mine are going with me. As are my Lands End sport sandals...these are wonderful in the wet and terrific when it isn't, and my sneakers. All three of us will have that asst. of footwear with us.

Now, as to sneaker drying...we found that if you stuff them with newspaper they dry out much faster. We went on a trail ride and got caught in a torrential downpour 2 yrs. ago!! Our feet were soaked before we even got off the horses. So, by the time we got back to the Polynesian...well, there wasn't a dry spot in 'em. We left them to dry a bit that afternoon, in the room. Then that night we stuffed them with newspaper. They were almost dry in the morning!!
