Ok, Congress Park is winning the poll now by a very wide margin!!! :cheer2:

I'd really appreciate it if anyone could post (or link me to) pictures of the different sections of SSR - what the views are from each room, the color schemes of the rooms, etc.

The rooms are the same in each section.

We've stayed in CP twice. The first time we had a studio on the 4th floor, great DTD view and of the quiet pool. I LOVED it. So I booked a longer trip there in a 1 bedroom. We were in the first building in CP (the one on the right, the first one to open), on the 4th floor with a horrible view. There was a canal below us and the parking lot to the DVC preview center beyond that.

If we ever stay there again I will request Springs (which is what I voted for) due to the proximity of the pool and AP.

Hmmm....did you request a DTD view and were denied? I've never seen a picture posted of a "bad view." I'd like to see a pic!!!

The reason for Congress Park leading the way is probably because it was the first phase that opened which gives people more opportunity to have stayed there versus the other phases. I have stayed in Congress Park and The Springs and this time around I think that I will go for the Paddocks! I will try them all, I mean IMHO there is no "BAD SECTION" of SSR it's ALL GREAT!!!

Is the Carousel area located on the right just as you enter SSR? Last time we stayed there, they were starting to do some excavating work in that area. Aren't these the ones that will have some view of the golf course?

The Carousel is on the left hand side, just past the guard shack as you enter Saratoga.

You can request DTD view, but its not guarenteed. I have been there twice and requested DTD views, but yet to get one.

I only requested high floor (which we got). At checkin I was told she had a room in CP on 4th floor would I like that. I said sure, thinking I would get a terrific view like my last trip. I do have pics of the view but I still have dial up and it takes about 30 minutes to load each picture. To some I am sure it would be a fine view, but after having the DTD view, I thought it was crap. JMHO of course! :rotfl:

AAAAAAH - I'm booking this weekend and am still UNDECIDED about what section?! :surfweb:

bumping...

And, does anyone know the order of bus pickup at SSR? I know someone posted this info somewhere, but I just can't remember....

Carousel, Paddocks, Congress Park and Springs.

Thanks for all the info here. When we go "home" Sept '07 it will be good to know the order of the bus stops etc ...

Does the order of bus pickups make a big difference when you decide what section to request?

Is being in the Paddocks a great advantage because you are picked up first? Is being in the Springs a great disadvantage becuase you are picked up last?

Also, the the Carousel section partially open now?

We stayed in CP and loved the quiet pool there and the ease of walking to DTD. Our room was in the building that starts with 1501. It was top floor right on a corner overlooking the bus stop and most of the rest of the resort. We could also see Wishes in the distance from the balcony. It was a short walk to the main pool, store etc. or you could hop whatever bus came along as the next stop would let you off across from the main pool. We only used the quiet pool at CP but went and checked out the rest of the stuff down the road. The one thing we did not have was a view of DTD. Still don't know how to post pix or would post a couple. Guess I better do a little research and try to gain a new skill.

You may want to go back and read the first few pages of this post. It talks about the bus pickups etc. Good luck in your decision and have fun making Disney memories!

I just recently returned from our first time at SSR and we stayed at Congress Park. We had a great view of DTD as we requested and were on the second floor of a three floor building. And the quiet pool was directly across from our balcony. But...if you want to be close to everything (The Spa, restaurants, check-in, main pool) then I would stay at The Springs next time.

The walk to and from our location (Building 16) wasn't that bad. We actually timed it one day and it came to about 8 minutes. But when you're tired and your feet are sore then it could seem like an eternity. ;) Plus DH was recovering from a sprained ankle and my arthritis in my knee decided to "kick up" the week prior to our leaving. So maybe the walk is really 5 minutes! :rotfl:

I'd stay at Congress again especially if I could get into that building. But I also think I'd like to try Springs.
