I Love DVC-
We just got back on Monday from our first trip home to SSR. We were in the 4100 building of the Springs. Being the last pick-up DEFINETLEY had an impact on us as far as getting to early entry on two days in a row. Never made it on time. The buses were full by the time it got to our stop. The MK bus that finally could fit us came at 8:10 and EE started at 8:00. Other then that it didn't matter about which stop you were at...EVERYONE waited equally as long for the rare bus to come by. That being said, we had a GREAT time, the resort is beautiful, AP and Turf Club both have good food. ALL cast members were wonderful except for the manager on duty when we all left the Springs bus stop to complain about not getting a bus to EE.

Ok, I read the whole thread. Congress park has the best views of DTD? But any particular section of CP?

What location has the best fireworks view?

Is carousel opened, and if so, what does it have a view of and what is it near?

Since the map doesn't list bldg names, can anyone correlate room numbers to bldg names?

Are there studios in every blg? I every section?

I am ther the week btwn C-Mas and 1/2/06 so although I would LOVE to be in the springs as it is closest to the main hall and pool, being the last stop on the bus route kind of turns me off to that section.

Any and all help is appreciated.

We want to request the springs, but are worried bout busses during peak. If the Springs is the last stop before leaving are they hard to get on? Are they overly crowded??
We were there for the first two weeks in August and loved our room in the Springs. I don't know exactly where these weeks fall in the spectrum of busy/not-so-busy, but with 60 and 90 minute lines for the popular rides, I personally thought it was pretty busy. (I know it doesn't compare to Christmas week, but that's an extraordinarily busy time.)

Anyway, we never once had to stand going to a park. In fact, some buses would still be completely empty when they got to the Springs.

We did a few rope drops during our stay, but aren't typically early morning people. On most days, we were getting to the parks an hour or two after they opened, or traveling back in the afternoon or evening after a break. Perhaps there's a peak bus time we were missing? I was concerned about being the last stop, too, but it wasn't an issue at all for us.

Pleasure Island no longer does the nightly New Years Eve fireworks display. There are no SSR views of fireworks. (Although we could see some in the distance over the top of the trees while walking to the main pool one night.)

Carousel is near the entrance to the complex, and is on the far side of Paddock. It will have it's own quiet pool, but is the farthest from the main pool and Carriage House. Consider it a nice, quiet, out of the way section. No, it isn't open yet, but it looks like construction is very close to being done. In many of the rooms, you can see lights and furniture. The landscaping and pool haven't been started yet.

Yes

There are no building numbers like at OKW. Just ranges of room numbers.

If bus is so infrequent, can I walk to DTD to take their bus, assuming I get to stay in CP? Do they have bus to park that early from DTD?

Thanks for the responses but I am still wondering if anyone can look at an SSR map and tell me which bldg names go with which room number ranges that are listed on the map?

As previuosly stated the buildings don't have names..... if you mean areas (ie; Congress Park, The Springs, The Paddocks, The Carousel) the bldgs marked #14 are in The Spring, #16 Congress Park, #15 The Paddocks and the area to the right as you come through the entrance with the trees will be The Carousel section. Here's a link for the map that I used as a referral hope it helps.

They only do fireworks on certain holidays like the fourth of July and New Years Eve. MGM does the same thing, only twice a year now or special occasions.

By the way when we stayed at SSR 4 weeks ago we saw fireworks pixiedust: every night from our 4th floor balcony in THE PADDOCKS area looking across the small lake towards the main pool area!
