It will be just my DW and I. We will be celebrating our anniversary w/out our four kids...yippee:teeth:
What room/building should we request? Should we call Pop Century direct with our requests? We leave in a week and wonder when we should call? Thanks!

Good question! I would like to know the answer myself as we will be staying at Pop also. Looks like about the same time.

I've stayed at Pop three times, in three different locations and I can't really see any reason to request any one room or area over another. JMO.

I recently stayed at Pop Century for 10 days. I stayed in the preferred section overlooking the main pool (the "Hippie Dippie Pool"). During my stay I walked every inch of the resort to check out the different sections and just to enjoy the many cool things to see. I could definitely say that in my opinion the 60s section is the most exciting. It is near the pool bar and the classic hall. It has a lot going on. Just being close to the main hub is fun. However, at night the guests at the pool got a little noisy. This didn't bother me, but if you want to be in a section with a little more quiet, then the 50s section would be my next choice. Also, this resort is laid out in a way - where you don't have a far walk to classic hall.

Hope this helps.

Not sure if I'll be of any help to you or not, but we stayed in back corner of 70's building with 2 rooms facing the lake/pond in back and one room facing the courtyard? between buildings. There was a large sign near our rooms that was not properly secured to the building. Our fist night there was windy and the sign creaked and moaned all night. Out of the 10 of us, we got about 3 hours of sleep each. When my BIL reported to maint. the next morning, he said it sounded like a donkey in the room next door. Maint. laughed and said "Well did you check the room next door? Are you sure there wasn't a donkey in there?" Might have been funny if we weren't so sleep deprived and doing the Dumbo or Die touring plan with a very excited 3 yr old. Hopefully the sign has been permanently repaired.
From our observations, it looked like the 60's building was the closest to pool, food court, etc., although we didn't have to walk too far to these. The bus stop wasn't a terrible walk either. My guess is that most of the rooms are pretty much the same.

I like staying in the 1970's buildings. They are close to everything but not TOO close. I wouldn't like the 1960's because it seems like it would be too loud right outside the pool like that. This last time we stayed in the 1970's - building 6 - in the side of the building facing the lake. It was so quiet and peaceful - but still close to the hippity dippity pool. I have also heard others say that the 1950's facing the lake is nice - on that end you could possibly see the Epcot fireworks at night. We would walk down that way at night by the lake and watch them.

Have fun!!
