What Rides Will You Not Ride and Why?

Stitch's Great Escape-it looks absolutely terrifying
Tower of Terror-can't handle drops that big
Expedition Everest-terrifies me
Rock n' Rollercoaster-I hate going upside down
Mission Space-claustrophobic

Mission Space...never even tried it...just heard so many negatives especially after it first opened. Should probably try the green side on our next trip!

Its a Small World. I've hated it since the 70's. My friends would always make me go with them. My last trip I went again, and the seat was two inches off the floor--had a really hard time getting out. I don't bend like I used to.

Tea cups
. I'm 56. I have never ever been tempted to go on this.

Mission Space.
I went once. Its not the kind of ride you can do over and over.
Been there. Done that. Not standing 45 minutes in line to do again.

Tower of Terror. Never been on this one. Not for any good reason. Its just that falling to my death is something i have always avoided. I don't sky dive for the same reason.

That ride with Figment in Epcot. Figment came across as annoying and not funny.

Maelstrom. I'm glad its days are done. hated it. I always felt it was a cheap imitation of a Disney ride and had no place in a "real" amusement park.
now a real ride is going in its place hooray!

I'm claustrophobic too, so guess I should add Space Mountain to the list???

I'll ride almost everything at Disney except the two rides that made me sick the last time I rode them - the intense version of Mission Space (I'll still ride the safe version) and Expedition Everest.

Oh...I knew Expedition Everest is a roller coaster for older kids but didn't realize it makes people sick. It looked fun from You Tube.

Tower of Terror - petrified of heights

Soarin - made me feel so ill last time

I can't stand going backwards at high speeds, especially because there's really no secure bar thingie to hold on to either. The going forward part was fun.

Everest...hate it because of the going backwards part.

Mission Space. One and only time I went I was sick to my stomach for two hours. Never again.

Only two that I WON'T ride anymore, although I used to.

Space Mountain-uncomfortable seating, jerky ride.
Tea Cups-that style of spinning ride makes me woozy.

"Old Age" reasons, I suppose. ;)

Then there are several I CHOOSE not to ride, because they're boring, not worth the time, just not interested, etc.

Country Bears
"Kiddie" rides in Fantasyland
Stitch
Swiss Family Treehouse (is that even still there?)

Space Mountain - I agree with the other posters that it is too jerky.

Dinosaur - Same reason, and to me even worse. The odd thing - it uses the same type ride vehicles as Indiana Jones in Disney Land and we thoroughly enjoyed that ride experience. They obviously have dialed in different movement profiles for the rides.

Peter Pan's Flight - We have done it several times over the years, and have come to the conclusion that the experience is simply not worth the wait.

Have heard Dinosaur can be quite scary too (a plus for me but not so much for my kids)

Yeah, Peter Pan did seem to have long waits. Neat ride though.

Space Mountain, rode it with my sisters (we are all in our mid 50's to early 60's). We all love roller coasters but when we got off we all complained about our necks hurting and had slight headaches. I guess it's because it's in the dark so you can't prepare for the sudden turns and drops.

Came in to say exactly this.

I wouldn't put my little ones on Space until they're in their teens, my head was flopping around the whole time I was on there. At least if it was fun I could kinda see the appeal, but it was probably the most boring ride I've been on at WDW.

Honestly, it confuses me how kids go on that ride. I live near Canada's Wonderland that has two monster coasters, one of which (Leviathan) is the 6th fastest coaster in the world and 3rd tallest in the world. I'd have no problem having my 10 y/o ride it (next year, she's just under the line), but no way she's touching Space.

And mine all started with a vicious panic attack on Splash Mountain!! The lap bar was down too far and I was wedged in when the ride broke down. It didn't matter that I could see the exit, had plenty of air and knew rationally that we'd be up and running shortly.. I had a panic attack. I just remember thinking "I wonder if I could get out of here if I had to..." and off I went.:crazy2: I had to do plenty of deep breathing and was in tears when we got off the ride. I probably looked like a lunatic and I had no idea why it happened as it had never happened before.

This is me as well to a T. Mission Space is an obvious no for me (the one and only time I went on was bc DH DS and DD really wanted me to) I pulled up my stop watch on my cell and just watched it the whole time knowing it'd be over in 4 minutes. Any type of restraint makes me start to have panic symptoms: heart palpitations, shallow breathing, a feeling of imminent doom... Ugh!
I am mostly scared of being on a ride that shut down and having to wait WHILE RESTRAINED for it to start again and for me to be able to exit. :( If I knew for absolute certain that I'd get on, the ride would perform as it should and I could get off I'd be much better...

Mission space Orange, Have you seen the people getting off that thing? I hear they may have slowed it down some since opening. Still not taking a chance. It is the only ride I have not ridden though. Cant bring myself to try green either.

Tower of Terror: Rode it when it first opened. Rode it once more to make sure I didn't like it. Rode it a third time to be sure. Yup, didn't like it, and now I am done. I figured I really had to make sure - just like I made sure that I don't like lobster. Gotta re-evaluate the results sometimes.

Everest: I LOVED it at first. Best coaster at Disney. But I started getting sick on it, mainly because of the backwards drop. Major carsick feeling. Tried it a second time to make sure that was it, and sure enough, carsick. So, after many years of loving it, it's a no-go.

Carousel in certain positions: Love carousel. Love the horses. But holding my son on the carousel while looking out at crowds: not good! I have to look forward, otherwise I get major sick!

Others:
Shows. Some are super dull to me, like Fantasmic and such. Epcot movies are dull dull dull.
Love the MSEP, but the lights are too much for my epilepsy.
Stitch - ick

Isn't it awful?:worried:
Before that episode on Splash Mountain I had never even thought about it. I rode anything and everything without a concern. Then Wham!.. now I worry about every ride. Because we love Disney so much I became determined not to give in to it. I do avoid the obvious ones, but I make myself go on the others and like I mentioned.. knowing that the ativan is in my purse and if we were stopped and I had a panic attack, it would only take a minute or two to start working if I put it under my tongue makes it much better. It's all perception, and I can try to apply logic to it, but it only goes so far. It's a pain in the butt.

I have never done any of these:

ToT - claustrophobic
Astro Orbiter - claustrophobic
Stitch - Seems to scary for me/don't think I would do well with shoulder restraint
Mission Space- claustrophobic
Dinosaur - too loud/scary for me (yeh I am 30 and afraid of the dark...)

I have ridden RnR a bunch in the past but have no desire to do it again. I spend the entire ride worried I will get stuck.

I think you are the first person who gets it!!! I keep an ativan in my purse for just such occasions. I have never once had to use it but it takes the fear down a hundred notches. I'm sure you are also well versed in putting your hands in your lap so the bar doesn't go down too far when a CM pushes on it.;)

I get it....totally!! I can't ride RNRRC any more because I almost had a major panic attack last time the bar came down over my head. I kept my mouth shut because I was there with my best friend and I knew she wanted to ride it. ...but no more...I just can't do it.

I can do Space Mountain...but it's a 50/50 chance that I will will freak...last time I was fine until I thought..."hmm what if we get stuck" and then I couldn't breathe the rest of the ride.

Everest is ok as long as I don't push the lap bar down too far.

I definitely cannot do teacups and mission space. One time, DBF and I went on Mission Space as a first ride right after a meal (we had no idea what we were doing) and it was a nightmare for a few hours after.. Never again.
