What rides to NOT take a 3 year old on?

that's a hard question to answer because it really depends on the kid.

Agree, every child is different. My three kids were always fearless and would try anything when they were little.

Be aware that it's not necessarily the "scariness" of the rides but their darkness that can scare kids. We took DD at exactly the same age as yours will be. I did my research, used the Unofficial Guide to determine which rides would be least scary, and decided to take her on Winnie the Pooh first. She hated the ride just because it was dark. (BTW, I agree with previous poster about starting with IASW.) Now, not to get started on another recent thread, but as soon as we got out of Pooh, I went to Tinkerbell's Treasures and bought DD a small, light-up Cinderella's Castle with an off switch. Some kids use glo-sticks or necklaces for the same reason. DD kept it in her lap for virtually every ride after that, whether she turned it on or not, and just the fact that the darkness was in her control made her able to ride everything else in MK except for Splash and Space Mountains because of height. We made sure that she kept the light low in her lap, and had her turn it out if we were somewhere it could bother other people, but it made a huge difference for us.

Just to show that all kids are different, when DD was 5, Stitch was her favorite ride! Go figure! :confused3
