What rides have scared/sickened you?

None of the rides at WDW make me sick or scared. I love most of them. Now, there are a couple of them that bore me because I have either done it or seen it so many times, that it just doesn't matter to me anymore. Actually, the only rides that have ever scared me: one was at Wild Adventures in Valdosta, GA and the other was the Death Drop (?) at IOA and that one doesn't scare me. It takes my stomach and leaves it on the floor while I am way on up in the air. The superfast, straight up takeoff is what gets me.

:love: ::MickeyMo :banana:

Bubba, the ride you're talking about at Islands of Adventure, is Doctor Doom. I would NEVER :sad2: get on that!

my dh cant go on simulator style rides, eg body wars/star tours, so i doubt he'll do all that well on mission space. if he goes on and gets ill it will ruin the rest of the day (trust me he wont keep quiet about it). i think i'll give it a go first while he waits with ds, and check to see what its really like.

i'm a thrill junkie, so love anything fast or that goes upside-down :Pinkbounc

Please excuse my ignorance...is Mission Space a simulator ride?

I am the biggest chicken when it comes to speed and drops. This thread has made me feel so much better! Flashback to EVERY school trip to anywhere w/rides (Hersheypark, Six Flags/Great Adventure, etc.), and I was the one sitting near the roller coaster exit w/everyone's jackets & bags. It's the speed that really gets me. I've never been on a rollercoaster -- never! I've been on a big log flume, and I absolutely hated the drop. Can't handle it.

It truly is a control thing - I have to know that I can stop or slow down when I want, and that's a big thing to give up.

That said, Soarin' is so great, and not scary at all! It's just such a beautiful experience - if I can do it, trust me....

I also really like Star Tours (did Soarin' & ST both at Disneyland; our first time riding them at WDW will be this October). The simulator is the perfect ride for me, because we don't actually TRAVEL! As soon as I got off Star Tours, I said to my boyfriend, "Let's go again!" - He was absolutely stunned, because I never do that. I laughed the whole time!

I really want to try a rollercoaster this time. I'm pretty sure I can handle Thunder Mountain, My (wow, he'll be my husband when we're there!) DH really wants to ride RocknRollercoaster, and I'd like to be able to ride Space Mountain. Can any of you post details about these (I don't mind spoilers at all when it comes to this!)

Thank you all for your M:S stories - despite my affection for simulators, we'll be skipping it! As for Dinosaur, as long as it doesn't go too fast or have a big drop, bring on that T-Rex!

Mission:Space :faint: I felt bad for at least 3 hours after riding it. I would love to try Rock n Roller Coaster but I am not one for coaster. Who knows maybe this time I will try it.

 well...it is not really a ride...but I had to be carried out O Canada (the 360 vision movie in Canada) :rolleyes1

It wasn't pretty, but i NOW know which rides to avoid (or just brave it out and go through with my eyes closed!) :smooth:

Just got back from EPCOT today and rode Mission Space!! I'm still feeling sick hours later! It was horrible. And I don't usually get motion sickness or freaked out on rides. There was a 7 year old with his parents on the same one I was and he was terrified! I felt so bad for him. If I felt that awful on the ride, I can only imagine what a kids feels like. And I couldn't believe all the kids on that ride. I've been on centrifuge rides before and those are great, but I think with the confined space and the screen it makes it worse. I hope they shut down that ride. My dh was waiting for me to come off to see if he should go and I told him no way!

I keep trying to convince myself to ride Splash Mountain so I can see all the stuff inside the mountain - then I think about that drop and :faint:

I'm with you Glendamax.....do you think they'd let us off before the drop???? :rotfl: (he, he)

Tower of Terror :scared:
made me sick to my stomach, in between hollering and gritting my teeth I decided that if I ever got off of that thing, I would never get on again!

Mission and I usually have a stomach of steel. Love all roller coaster, TOT, Spiderman, etc, but Space just churns my tummy!

We spent 15 days at WDW this past May and I recall it rained only twice for about 2 hrs. The weather was nice on the "hot" side. However, it was much more pleasant than the July weather we experienced when we went in July of 2004. The crowds were a nice size and our ride waits were minimal. I would go again in May without hesitation!

AE (now Stich's Great Escape).
It didn't scare me, but it's the only ride ANYWHERE that I felt clostrophobic.

Sitting in those restraints in the dark was about enough to make me hit the panic button!
