I am planning a trip in May with my daughter that will be 9 months old at the time. I have been to Disney many times but this is the first trip with a baby and I am concerned that we will be limited. I basically want to know if I can bring my baby on rides and in to shows if she sits on my lap. ::MinnieMo

Our dd turned 1 on our first trip. Shows shouldn't be a problem. We tried to sit near an exit in case she got restless. (We most recently went to DL, so forgive if one of those rides gets added...she was just 15 months) As far as rides, we took her on the HM, Alladin Carpets, POTC (great nap ride), Buzz, Peter Pan, Snow White, Dumbo, Carousel, Triceratop Spin, most of the unrestricted attractions at Epcot, Great Movie ride, plus a few more. Other rides, my dw and I did the child swap. I think our vacation worked out great.

You mentioned POTC...weren't there some cannons going off there or something like that? (It's been awhile, so I'm not sure) I was thinking that even though the babies are too young to be scared by some of the sights, that the loud noises might be a bit much when trying to figure out what she can do.
What about at the animal kingdom? Is there anything there that we might be able to get away with keeping her with us and not doing the swap besides the Lion King show?

Our ds never slept on POTC but he fell asleep several times riding HM. That was a great nap ride! As far as AK goes, the only things you can't do with a baby are the Dinasour ride, Primeval Whirl, Kali & Everest (when it's finally open). Those are the only ones I can think of. You may consider skipping It's a Bug's Life movie as well, depending on how your baby handle those types of shows. At 13-mos, my ds didn't tolerate them well but at 17 months they didn't bother him at all.

AK has a great parade (ds loved it), you can take babies into all the shows and they can ride the safari ride. There's the jungle trek, Flights of Wonder show, Tarzan show, Festival of the Lion King, Pocahontas and her forest friends show (you might want to skip that one until your kids are a bit older though), & TriceraTop Spin.

hth!

We took my neice on everything without a height restriction in every park and she loved them all. My sil wore her in the bjorn in line, some shows and some rides. Others she sat on my or my sil's lap - never a jolt or scare even on potc or even malestrom.
